Ok this is a burger place and a good one. No a great one! Pretty reasonable for Kauai! Had the double bubba and the Big Terriyaki with cheese. Added onion rings and a melon milkshake. Onion rings had a nice crunch and not oily. Really really tasty Milkshake was good not to die for. The burgers were to Die For! Just an outstanding experience. Highly recommend this burger joint. A solid stop for a little burger and onion ring snack. We came in the afternoon when the line wasn't too long to grab a little snack. Service was unfriendly and cold, which we'd expected from reading reviews ahead of time. But we grabbed a nice little seat outside after placing our order and only waited a few minutes for food. The teri burger was super tasty with the sauce, the raw onions were intense and a little heavy but a bit of onion complimented the flavors well. This is a quick serve restaurant with the classics: burgers, dogs, corn dogs, chicken, and chili. (They have a couple of salads too, but this seems to be known for the burgers and such.) The prices are very reasonable, and the food is surprisingly delish! If you're craving a burger similar to Five Guys, I highly recommend the Big Bubba with cheese. My bf got that, and I tasted it. It was VERY good! I got a grilled chicken sandwich bubba style, and it was also very good! We split a corn dog and frings (fries and onion rings) because we were starving. First of all, DO NOT listen to ANY of the reviews that are only three stars or under. This place is amazing! FIVE STARS for sure. Friendly staff, quick lines, easy menu. Food comes out quick and hot! You must order the onion rings, trust me, they're delicious, even my wife loves them and she is an onion rings connoisseur. I recommend getting a burger Bubba's way, the homemade ketchup-relish is exquisite and that tasty NON greasy smash burger. Your taste buds will thank me, trust me. Burgers are the perfect size, don't listen to anyone else who says otherwise. They're probably over-weight, so just eat slow. I've been coming here for ten years when I visit Poipu and I have to say the quality and size of the portions has gone down over time. Fries were pitiful (maybe 20 fries per order) and on top of that, now there's a mandatory 18% online service charge - just for putting in your order in online to pick up in the store! If you're in a pinch or have young kids who need something simple, this place will do fine - but IMO the value is dropping off. Time to find something else. read more

Don't bother. Food was "fine"- service was unfriendly. They do not give out water cups- they only have cones, which you cannot use at the same time as eating a burger. When I asked for a cup with a bottom on it, she said they cost 20 cents, but she would go ahead and give me one. My son asked for a straw and she said they don't give straws- he said he wanted to try some of his dad's shake she ended up giving him one. We tipped $5 on our order before we even got the food. Tried to call in my order. A girl answered but had me on hold for over fifteen minutes. I finally went down to stand in line. Stood In line for thirty minutes and the line started to get longer. We eat burgers on all our trips and this place was not worth the visit. The food is generic. They charge extra for produce on your hamburger. The chili was overly salty and tasted canned. The two stars is just for the fries that were hot and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The service was horrendous and shocking as service all over the island was so great and friendly. The cashier was super rude and slow. She left a line of customers waiting and would put orders on the counter without calling a number or name. Customers were constantly having to ask who the order was for and she would practically growl their name at them. The food here just isn't good enough to deal with the bad service. Bubba burger is one of our favorite stops. The chill cheese burger with all the fixings is my favorite. You also have a choice of one patty or two. The double cheese burgers are just as delish! I really like this burger joint for its after beach day location and yummy smash burgers. They also do hotdogs. Typically order the cheeseburger deluxe and I believe everything js still under $10. The burgers are made to order. You order at the register and grab your condiments. Seating is available inside and out. In theory, the eccentrically-decorated and retro-style burger joint, Bubba Burgers, has everything you'd want in a burger spot: a hot griddle, nostalgic/vintage decor, and high quality ingredients. But, somehow they fall short of their intended target with mediocre food, lackluster service, and unreasonable surcharges. For starters, the burger was good, but lettuce and tomatoes cost extra (something I never expected to find in a burger restaurant). The meat was of decent quality and the bun wasn't super buttery but still plush and soft. The onion rings were also good but definitely not the best I've had. Do note that ranch costs extra, so if you're looking to save some coins, just dip your sides in the free ketchup / mayo / mustard. The truffle fries were the biggest letdown. Disguised as plain ol' parmesan fries, the "truffle" fries had no truffle flavor let alone aroma which usually is the strongest feature in truffle-labeled dishes. The water, while free, is served in cones which makes it hard to bring your beverage back to the table. Their cups (yes, even for water) incur an extra fee which makes the eating experience less enjoyable as you have to trek to the water station every time you'd like a drink with your burger. Overall, definitely not the best burger place I've tried but certainly not the worst (though, with everything considered, it's still pretty low on the scale). read more

Today we ate at Bubba's Burgers in Poipu. This was the only place open for lunch that our child would eat so it was our only choice. Save yourself the calories. We ordered the following: 1 Hotdog, 2 double Bubba's Burgers, 1 order of onion rings, 1 order of fries, 1 order of chili fries, and 2 sodas. This cost $48 plus a TIP totaling about $55. I added a picture for reference. None of it was good. Although, my 6 year old enjoyed his hotdog and fries. The burgers were mediocre and nothing special. The onion rings were okay. The chili tasted like canned chili that was poured over fries making it more like chili soup and soggy fries. I am giving it 2 stars because the workers seemed nice and the place was clean. read more
