When the date approached, emailed me that even a simple cleaning would have a $200+ copay, because Aetna isn't "in network;" (but NO ONE'S insurance is in THEIR network, so that "patients can make their own choices ??) then, even tried to get me to sign up for their "Smile Club"--with a large monthly fee, as though I was going to Costco. Finally, when I brought the deception to their attention, they tried to gaslight me. Reprehensible. Not smiling.

I really admired how he always remembered details about me and my life and always enjoyed making conversation with him. Years ago, I chipped my two front teeth after falling on my face and Dr. Khan worked with a specialist to restore my teeth through a root canal treatment and gave me crowns to replace the teeth I had chipped. Dr. Khan allowed me the opportunity to shadow him over the summer and I could see how much he truly cared for each of his patients and how he was able to complete so many different types of procedures! Dr. Khan works quickly, but not at the expense of treating his patients like real people. He ensures that Polaris Dental Care is a comfortable and warm environment where patients feel like family. Christy, who manages the financial/logistical aspect of the office, is also great! She is so friendly and makes sure all of your questions get answered. After receiving 2 filling due to cavities I was in serious pain but was told it should go away in a few days. 2 weeks later I'm still waking up in extreme pain and discomfort. We made another appointment and came in to talk about doing more work on my teeth but they don't accept my insurance. But I was glad to pay out of pocket and told them. That was the whole reason we came here because they told us to come in for a consultation. I was then told by that they could not accept me because if the government found out that they did work on me they could get in to trouble. Wait! What!? Now remember I'm deaf but my hearing girlfriend was there to interpret for me and we both sat there in shock about this information. My insurance is not Medicare or Medicaid. But I am being turned away for a reason I still can't wrap my head around. Because we were told they would get in trouble by the government if they found out North Star did work on me. Right before we left the agreed to at least look at the tooth that was causing me so much pain. I will say they were very helpful in trying to find me a dentist that might accept my insurance. As well as a specialist to perform a root canal. We did appreciate them at least for genuinely being helpful in that regard. I walked away sad because this was the place I honestly felt at peace with and wanted this to be my go to dentist.

Today I arrived for an appointment I scheduled months ago for my daughter. Upon arrival I checked…read morein and they said I had no appointment, that they had tried to reach me but failing to do that they cancelled my daughter's appointment. I said I called at 9:00 on Oct 7th, 11 days ago to confirm the appointment and they did confirm it was for the time I had scheduled. Eleven days later I arrived and they said they could not see this call however my phone shows that the call lasted 2:30 min on Oct 7th. I had never consented to reschedule or cancel. They said they could reschedule but I told them I took my daughter out of school and 2 hours out of my day to be at the appointment I scheduled months ago. They again said they tried to call but were unable to reach me. I see no such call listed on my phone and, did I mention I called them and confirmed 11 days prior? This isn't even the first time they did this. They cancelled another appointment without my consent last summer. I've been a patient for less than a year and they did this twice? I've never had a dentist arbitrarily cancel your appointment without consent. Additionally, I called on 9/17 at noon to confirm the appointment. Nobody answered the phone. I left a message and nobody returned the call. Tried again on 9/19 at 6:33 AM. Left a message. No return call Tried again on 9/19 at 9.43 AM. Nobody answered the phone. Left a message. No return call Prior to this, I have driven 30 minutes to ask a question that took seconds to answer because nobody answers the phone and nobody returns a call. Again, I haven't even been a patient there for a year and have never seen such disregard for they patients time. \ Additionally, I was prescribed a procedure that cost me $3000. A friend of mine who goes there said they charged him over $10,000 for the work they did. Recently I red a review of another person that said they have a tendency to charge exorbitant fees for services and this seems to be confirmed by my own experience. Go somewhere else.
