I had a couple cold Yuenglings with a bacon cheeseburger & fries. Not a difficult order for sure but it was prepared quickly & correctly. Fries were fresh cut with skin on, lightly salted. Burger was cooked exactly how I like it. I opted for jalapeño cheese which added just the right touch. Flavor was excellent. I almost skipped over the jalapeño beer cheese dip thinking it was standard liquid cheese food, but it turned out to be delicious homemade dip with fresh delicious homemade pretzels--so good! While working for a week in Savannah, once my coworkers and I tried Dub's for lunch, we kept coming back. Several times we went with their daily special. Every daily special was great. The burgers at Dub's are right up with the best burger I've ever had. With their blend of ground short rib, chuck, and sirloin, it's hard to go wrong. We wanted a place with big TVs to watch women's World Cup. Dub's had a bunch of extremely high quality big TVs! You'd think this was just a dive bar but they had GREAT food. We got the jalapeño beer queso that came out with fresh baked pretzels - YUM! Then I got the shrimp & grits - not your average s&g - with chorizo and pico WOW SO GOOD! My wife got fish & chips that were cooked perfectly! Plus local beers on tap. Quite a surprise with such a great place! The staff was extremely friendly too. Went to this place for St Patrick's day and it was amazing the bartenders were attentive and skilled. The atmosphere of the place was inviting and warming. We also had the best waitress in Mary Katherine, she was phenomenal and treated us like she knew us forever. Bright smile, very charismatic, and kept a cool head when she had a table full of jerks. Great food in an excellent location on River Street. The name may be misleading, because it is not your typical sports bar. Dubs has a great menu with items such as pretzels with beer cheese, 7-layer salad, Sriracha chicken wings, hand battered chicken wings and awesome burgers! My favorite is the Bloody Mary Bar on Sundays (not during football season) where you can have unlimited "build-your-own" bloody Mary's with amazing garnishes, such as candied bacon, slim jims, cheese sticks, and homemade beef jerky. Also-- Wednesday nights they have Trivia starting at 7:30pm, run by TriviaNation. They have a limited menu, but it's packed with tasty burgers, sandwiches, and southern favorites like shrimp and grits, pork belly, and fried chicken. They claim to get their meat and produce from local farms and make everything fresh. So far, everything we've ordered there we'd order again. Service has always been friendly and informative about the local menu, and we've never felt rushed; we like places where we feel like we can tuck in, talk over a few drinks, and then order our meals. Dub's also has a great craft beer selection and a handful of unique cocktails. The prices are moderately high for a pub, but it's really more of a gastropub that takes traditional pub fare to the next level. You can drink at the bar or take them to go, although we spent almost $7 a beer so prices are at a premium. Food was pretty good - we just got the pretzels with beer cheese dip. My sandwich was pretty good, though I was expecting Texas Style brisket and the brisket on the sandwich was sliced thin, like lunch meat. I came here for lunch and some beers because this place advertised itself as a sports bar and had a 15% discount for runners in the Savannah marathon and half marathon, which I just participated in. I sat at the bar. There were several screens around showing different games, and a good mix of patrons interested in different games. By the time I left, the place appeared to be packed. I struggled when sitting at the bar to see what all their drafts were, so asked for a beer list. The list I was given had only bottled beers listed, and said drafts were on a chalkboard, but I couldn't see a chalkboard from my seat, and when I saw it later, it didn't really describe what the beers were. I prefer places where there is a real good, descriptive listing of the rotating drafts. It looked like they gave such a list to the people next to me; not sure why I wasn't given it. I ended up having a bottled Dogfish 60 minute IPA and a Terrapin chocolate porter draft, both of which were excellent. I had their burger with portabella mushrooms and Swiss cheese, which was good, but nothing too special in my estimation. The cole slaw I had with it was good, if you don't like sweet, creamy slaw. There was almost no cream, which was fine by me because I'm almost happy eating raw cabbage. The main problem, though, with this place is the service. The bartender did the best he could under the circumstances. He was doing the drinks for the whole restaurant, plus waiting on the area next to the ping pong tables and waiting on the patrons sitting at the bar. Don't come here unless you're not in a rush. It was nice that they honored the discount, and in fact gave me $5 off, which was more than the 15% advertised. read more

The appetizers were great and our server was amazing. The live band was exceptional! But I am extremely confused and disappointed that there was a PING-PONG table right in front of the band. No one was able to see anything. Like..... LITERALLY.... right in front of the band. These guys work hard on their skills, talent.. etc... but then they perform live for a restaurant and there is a PING-PONG table infront of them... Those guys are great! Dubs is an oasis in the tourist heavy area around River Street. Right now there is a 5 Craft Beer bucket for $10 which is an AMAZING deal. We got Hazed & Infused, a 22oz Stone IPA, Avery IPA and Golden Monkey (9.8% abv) and something else. Do a little math and consider that the bottle of Stone cost about $5 at any grocery store, the bucket is an incredibly good deal. But it doesn't end at incredibly good beers dirt cheap. The bartender was incredibly helpful and awesome. The food is also always fresh and never leaves you feeling like you ate greasy frozen food so common to local bars . Super burgers and a delicious smoked chicken sandwich. Get the sweet potato fries! Ping pong and pool. Also a really good spot for watching sports! read more
