    Fried shrimp
    Gary F.

What a great place! They were very accommodating and our server, he was unbelievably amazing! We started with an order a fried mushrooms and a couple of orders of fried pickle spears. The mushrooms were a very large size and not overly breaded nor overly fried. They just fenominal. The fried pickle spears were the same way. I forgot to take a photo. My wife and shared an eight piece chicken fingers platter with came with Spanky's spuds, a very thick cut potato chip, battered? and then fried. Not crispy like a potato chip but more like a french fry. They were very good. The fried shrimp it was good, but not nearly as good as the chicken fingers. They were amazing. Actually everyone enjoyed lunch, which is odd for a large group of people.

Great food, service, and very reasonable prices with a relaxing place! Good was hot and fresh and came out in good timing!!

Tried Spanky's and was disappointed. For a place to be known for their chicken fingers, they were very bland and warm. Warm so not hot almost like they sat under a light until they were sold. For the side, I tried the spuds and those were very good. Service was ok. Another major issue I had was unfortunately I saw them taking trash out through the restaurant. Not sure how they can avoid this but people eating don't want to see trash being carried out while they are eating. Skip Spanky's if you can.

This is a staple in Savannah's and was a good stop after walking around. We sat at the bar while we defrosted from the cold outside and what better way of doing that then with a cold beer and some warm chicken. We got an order of chicken fingers and fries. I will say that these were nothing more shy than ordinary chicken fingers. I think these are OK at best but the bartender was really nice and was on top of us getting food and drinks swiftly. I also liked the establishment as it had a very homie feel and it was a great environment to be around. There's a lot of options to eat and drink and overall people were nice.

Honestly this place was very good! I had the chicken strips and it was so soft not dry! The service was a bit touchy I could tell our server was trying to head out so she wasn't around much. It was very busy the day we went so make sure you call ahead to get a table! While the only thing I didn't really like was the kids menu! My daughter had the Mac and cheese and it came with no side and it was 8$! To me that's a bit crazy for a small bowl of boxed Mac..

The saddest sampler platter you can order The only thing good and not scared to eat was the frozen mozzarella sticks

When we first walked in, there were approximately 30 tables throughout the restaurant available. But the hostess said it would be 30 to 45 minute wait we took advantage of a wide open bar and asked if we could dine in there. They said yes. I ordered the sampler platter to share with my wife And was surprised at what came out: a total of six spuds that smelled like they share the frying oil with some form of fish, two frozen mozzarella sticks that were not in the fryer long enough still cold, fried pickles that were wilted and no batter on half of them. Was excited for the chicken, come to find out they were very soggy and undercooked, which was very scary. when I just wanted to leave and pay the bartender who had been complaining to other servers about how upset they were that people called in sick and she had fallen earlier in the day and was utterly disgusted asked was the food not good and why were we not eating it? All I wanted to do was pay, but immediately she brought the manager over and asked me to explain to her what was wrong with the food I told her how I felt and instantly she says did they have any alcoholic beverages? Bartender said no she said thank you very much. Don't worry about the bill and turned and walked away I was like and that is exactly why they're having difficulty with this establishment. Hope they can get it worked out in the future because they have a prime location on the riverwalk

While most of the rooftops are regularly accessible to the public, there's something about Myrtle & Rose which has caused it to elude us. Often, it has been closed for a private party, or perhaps it was full. In any case, we finally were carded and sent up the elevator with the slightly aggressive doors. Yes, they close fast. Keep a move on! We were offered a table overlooking the river and served by Will. My wife enjoyed her Amber Hour, and I an old fashioned. I suppose they don't want us getting tipsy and falling off, since my drink may have had 2 or 3 ounces. A good little taste, but not for long for this Wisconsin boy. Let's not go down the road of it being a "real" old fashioned -- I know and enjoy both kinds. (You must when you also own a distillery.) The two shining points of the evening were the view and our server. This spot offers a nice, close-up view of the river from both directions -- perfect for the occasional ships passing in the night. Our server, Will, was very professional, attentive, and thoughtful. By the end of the 50° night, Will had brought a blanket for my wife. While we can handle below-zero temps at home, there's something about 50° on vacation that gives us the shivers. Perhaps it was the dress -- I'm not sure, since I wasn't the one wearing it tonight. Anywho, finally a great experience was had at this well-done rooftop bar.

Unfortunately, our experience was frustrating from the moment we arrived. The biggest issue was the lack of staff. They desperately needed more bartenders and servers working that evening. As someone who has previously worked in the service industry, I understand that busy nights happen and staffing challenges are real, but this was beyond slow service. We stood waiting for about 15 minutes at the bar trying to get someone's attention just to order a drink. During that time, we noticed several other guests becoming frustrated as well. A few people who had been waiting before us eventually gave up and left, and others behind us seemed equally annoyed. After standing there without any acknowledgment from the staff, I finally turned to my husband and said, "Let's go." We ended up leaving without ordering a single drink. I don't know if the restaurant was unexpectedly short-staffed or if several employees called out that night, but something was clearly off. It's unfortunate because the location is fantastic, and the atmosphere seemed like it could have been a great place to spend the evening. I'd be willing to give it another try in the future, but based on this visit, the service simply wasn't able to keep up with the crowd.

It's right in the heart of downtown off Congress Street and across from the Rail Pub. There is street parking, but being downtown, it can definitely be limited. I finally stopped in after dinner hours around 7pm on Friday. Since it was date night we ordered the raw tower, which comes stacked with everything under the sun: oysters, shrimp, snow crab, lobster and mussels. I also ordered scallops and asked if it could be prepared without butter because of my dairy allergy. The kitchen has no problem making them with olive oil instead. Super delicious! I enjoyed it so much that I came back the following weekend with friends. I made reservations online during happy hour (4-6pm) and we were lucky enough to be seated in the small back dining room tucked away behind the bar. Our server was wonderful and very attentive, and I especially appreciated that she actually paid attention to the allergy notes I included with my reservations. Of course we all ordered a dozen oysters each because they're $1 during happy hour and who can beat that? I ordered the scallops again because I liked them so much the first time, and around the table we had a mixture of lobster, mussels, dressed oysters, turtle cheesecake, finishing everything off with espresso martinis. Hands down delicious. The service was top-tier too. Our server never hovered, but somehow always checked on us at just the right time and made sure we had everything we needed. There was one consistent theme throughout: bland. The shrimp and fish tasted like...water? And I don't mean a seafood taste, but as one in our party described it: like licking your arm. Just flavorless and uninspiring. The crust and color on the chicken sandwich looked like I was about to bite into a life-altering morsel. But alas, I tasted chicken. And nothing else. We had very high hopes and were let down. I don't know if it was off day or what, but the food left a lot to be desired.
