    Wagyu Beef Slider
    Luke B.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Orlando. I like the food so much, I'm worried I might get sick of it, so I try to only go once a month at most. Situated in a food truck outside Digress Wine, they serve what I would describe as French-inspired Spanish tapas. You can sit inside the wine bar and order via their website directly to your table or you can order from the food truck itself and they'll bring it to you. A definite must is the Marinated Olives ($6), pitted green olives in an inventive citrus-y and spicy brine with capers, carrots and pearl onions along for the ride. It's so good I sometimes order 2 for the table. Another must is the Wagyu Beef Sliders ($17), two plump and juicy sliders, cooked perfectly, topped with a mushroom sauce and raclette cheese, served with French fries. It's so buttery and decadent- probably the best burger I've ever eaten. The fries are expertly cooked, extremely crispy and wonderfully seasoned. Their menu changes frequently and I always try something new here (steak frites, empanadillas, summer rillette, hummus). I'll be back many times this year (it's August, so 4 in fact) !

The aesthetics and atmosphere of this restaurant / wine bar is very Mediterranean / south of France which I adorrrrred especially since I'll be there this summer. There's an outside seating area with a water fountain and umbrellas for all the vibes and shade to enjoy a brunch or day with the girls or even a date. Inside is elegant just as well with lovely art pieces, decor and lighting. They just started doing brunch on Sundays when I went so it was nice to experience it and see their curated menu. When I made the reservation I requested a scenic ambiance spot which they had the perfect table for me and my server Erin surprised me with a complimentary glass of bubbles, I assume the prosecco which was such a treat being to start off my birthday lunch! I had some main goals of YES and I NEED, which was a nice bottle of wine, those gorgeous blue and white printed plates, the blue crab cannoli, and the ousters. All of which I received in the best presentation possible. The team at Lorelei even made my lunch ever so special by serving everything on those plates along with enhancing my blue crab cannoli with caviar on the top instead of the regular fish eggs that are placed which I was just full of joy and happiness seeing how special they surprised and customized my dishes for me! The bottle of Sauvignon blanc also a perfectly complimented my oysters as well as the cannolis. Overall, Lorelei did not disappoint me and met all of my expectations and desires with the perfect birthday lunch with my favorite besties! I can't wait to come back again for some small bites and tapas or even experience the wine tasting events they hold!

You can tell the owners put love into every detail including picking their wines locally and internationally. You can stop by any day of the week, load money on a card and taste 16 different wines from a self serving tap. My personal favorites were Rioja, Sangue Di Giuda and the Chardonnay. The Rioja is similar to Cabernet Sauvignon, but it also has a fruity character. If you love Cabernet but are also looking for the dominant cherry flavor, this is the perfect wine for you. The Sangue Di Giuda, which means "Blood of Judas", is more of a deep, slightly sparkling and delectably sweet red wine. Chardonnay is my go to when I want a nice glass of wine after work. Although it typically has fruit flavors, it's a dry white wine. It pairs perfectly with seafood or baked chicken. We purchased a bottle of Lumbrusco and we sat and enjoyed the atmosphere and great conversation with the owner. They were right, they made us feel at home. We had 2 of the white flights, the mushroom flatbread and the Brussels sprouts. Everything was delicious and the wines were lovely. Jordan was the bartender and we enjoyed talking to him. Server was attentive and helpful. Wine selection was plentiful and the pre-selected flight actually had some cool options I would have never tried but loved My only piece of feedback would be that our Brie wasn't warm enough/didn't stay warm enough to get through. It was like we needed to eat it faster to enjoy the warm spreadable creaminess but we also wanted to sip slow and enjoy our experience. The nuts also didn't do anything for me with the brie, but were nice with my wines!

There are a few different spots you can sit depending on what you want your experience to be. We were sat in the patio downstairs under a giant umbrella. You can also choose to sit inside or even upstairs at the roof top bar. Our server was Timothy, he was very lovely and attentive. We started with a bottle of bubbly and were given the option to have different juices to go with our bottle. Each juice was served in an individual decanter. We started with the butter lantern from Parlor Kitchen. It was served with a bagel, a muffin and some toast. It was a beautiful display and delicious. (Shout out to Parlor Kitchen). We also started with the fried goat cheese. It was served on toast with blueberries, tomatoes and jam. Very delicious. I selected the blueberry pancakes from the brunch menu. It was a large stack of three pancakes with blueberries baked in and on top. Complimented with some butter lantern and syrup, they were fluffy and delicious. The menu had some really nice selections so I will definitely return another day. I want to try the duck fat burger at some point, which is their wow feature. Great place to visit. Wish I had not canceled what I originally booked because I thought this was better based off their (we later found out AI) marketing for it. That's how the owner chose to explain why they didn't have the items advertised for their brunch. The service was good and we did speak to the owner about our disappointment.

Eola General is tucked just a block away from Lake Eola in a cozy renovated house. I was immediately charmed by the adorable outdoor seating. Inside, you'll find encouraging messages painted on the walls, tons of character, and several fridges stocked with all kinds of beverages, including local beer and wine. Their menu features amazing large bagels, various cream cheeses, and bakery items. One thing I really appreciate about Eola General is their inclusivity when it comes to dietary preferences. They offer lots of vegan options. I ordered an everything bagel with veggie cream cheese, one of my personal favorites, and I can confidently say this was one of the best versions I've ever had. You can actually taste the bits of veggies in the spread. The bagels are big, so make sure you come hungry! Of course, I had to try their coffee too. I went with a seasonal drink called Grandma's Bowl, made with brown butter, toffee nut, pumpkin purée, and oat milk. After one sip, I was convinced this was the best fall drink of the season! Perfectly balanced between sweetness and bold. I was so impressed with their vegan offerings that I also picked up a vegan cupcake for my friend, complete with a cute little acorn design. Eola General is full of delicious options and truly embodies the spirit of Lake Eola and Orlando with its kind staff and unique offerings. I highly recommend this spot for a breakfast date with friends or even a first date. There's definitely something delicious for everyone.
