A donut is a donut right? WRONG. We waited until our last vacation day to go here which was a mistake...or maybe a good thing as it probably saved us a lot of calories. I'm not a big donut eater, but these are the best. They make your donuts to order. By that I mean, you watch them get made and they are pulled and iced while hot. They are not pulling them off a tray of pre-made donuts. They have a great selection of toppings and you can create whatever you want and they don't charge you extra! One topping or 5, same price. Really good donuts, you can see them being made and also chose what you want. The only type of donut they make are the cake donuts, but those are my favorite anyways. I went with chocolate and coconut topping, and I would do the same thing all over again. read more

With so many different varieties to choose from, how is someone to decide!? The ladies who were working gave us suggestions on which varieties were hot sellers, which was so nice of them to help out! I placed an order online and selected 10:30 pickup. Shortly after, I got an email saying my order wouldn't be ready until 11:15. Seeing that I had three young children and and 8-hour drive, I went into the store to find out when my order would be ready. The employee was incredibly quick to talk over me each time I tried to explain to her my confusion with the timing of my order and that I just wanted to understand when the donuts would be ready. After her repeated attempts to talk over me I told her I wanted to cancel my order. She told me I could do it online but when I asked for assistance, she told me she didn't know how or if I could. I told her I'd just be donating $50 in donuts plus the 20% tip I had added to my order to which she quipped that her manager could cancel the order. I told her my name and then her manager came up to ask for my name again. I gave her my name and as the manager was walking back to the kitchen in very clear visual range of me and all of the customers waiting in the lobby, mocked me by flapping her hand in a talking motion. I have worked in many different service settings and 1) clear communication when dealing with customers is paramount and, 2) a manger who sets a tone such as the one I experienced today will sour staff, ruin the customer experience and build an unfavorable reputation. I do not recommend supporting this location as its clear they need more customer service training from the top on down. read more

Is heaven a deep fried doughnut??? While in obx with friends and family a couple of weeks ago, our group consumed about 8 dozen. Their new lemon glaze is incredible. These donuts are soooo good! I don't even like cake donuts and these are the best donuts I've ever eaten. They make them to order and the glazes are perfect. As someone with a peanut allergy, I can't always enjoy donut spots because peanuts are a common topping. While they definitely use peanut products here, they make an effort to cater to all with food allergies and have a separate prep station that contains no peanut products. I stopped by here this morning for breakfast and all I can say is wow. I ordered 3 donuts which just came out of the deep fryer. I ordered a peanut butter and peanuts, strawberry glazed and a glazed. The peanut butter frosted was my by far my favorite. This is a great place to come for donuts and especially good when they come out of the deep fryer fresh. Honestly the best donuts I have ever had. Super perfect. They have a bunch of glazes and toppings you put on top. I honestly think you can't go wrong it is all absurdly delicious. Creative and good customer service. If you have children, this is a great place. The children were lined up watching the donuts being made fresh. But to be honest, I couldn't finish one donut.
