Tried it today for the first time and boy are they good! Already at the first bite I thought "this is literally the best donut I have ever eaten!" The donuts were maybe a little smaller than what one is used to but they make up in variety and flavor. The first time I visited Duck Donuts in Latham, I was using a Clipp certificate (formerly Local Flavor) for $20 off my order. The girl at the cash register deducted only $14.99 tho (the price of a half-dozen donuts). I didn't notice this mistake until I returned home, so I called the store and got the manager, Dave. He was very nice, apologized for the mistake, said they would make up for it the next time I came in, and even gave me his cellphone number to call when I come in to make sure I got reimbursed. I was very impressed with his business savvy (realizing that making the customer happy is paramount). I went back to Duck Donuts today and Dave was there. I explained who I was and what had happened my last visit. He couldn't have been nicer, and more than made up for the mistake made during my first visit by offering me my choice of 5 free donuts (when he only owed me the equivalent of 2). He is, in my opinion, a fantastic businessman and I will be telling all my friends about Duck Donuts and what a great place it is. I absolutely love Duck Donuts. My fiancé's family and I have been going to Duck NC for over 10 years (of course we weren't able to this past year). So, when I found out it was opening right near me I was stunned and excited! My first visit was well worth it, a four star visit. This visit I had today was a bit of a let down. And one reason for my disappointment was due to the management of the people indoors. They have capacity in place and they have a barrier between the customer and register, but the people that are indoors are up against one another and it's a bit uncomfortable in light of the circumstances. I had wished they were more adamant about enforcing that their customers maintain their distance. Obviously I'm out going to their place by my own choice, but I do these things comfortably because places make it so and they did not. Also, that really wasn't my biggest gripe. After I got my donuts I waited a few minutes and then let the gentleman know I was waiting for a coffee. There had been a cup sitting there, but I ordered my coffee with a splash of cream and only one sugar (hopefully that's how it would be made, at least). When I told him he took the coffee sitting there and opened it and said this is a coffee and basically asked me to take that one in hopes it was mine. Why not just ask someone if it was for my order? What if I were diabetic and couldn't have sugar and it was extra sweet? Or what if I had wanted it black? I don't know. That just rubbed me the wrong way. I'll go back, because I like the coffee and donuts, but I'll probably order in advance next time so that I do not have to go inside there for long again. Oh, and I asked for lemon drizzle on my donut and they did a whole spread of lemon icing, so that was annoying. I was in a rush, though, so I just took it as it was. Oh, well. read more

Just had to stop here on my way back to Long Island from a long weekend in Saratoga. I've been to the duck donuts on Long Island numerous times and this one tasted exactly the same. Both locations are amazingly delicious and the donuts are always so nice and warm when being served. This time they had some amazing Halloween themed donuts so of course we had to try. The first time I walked in this place I noticed staff working on making the donuts. It reminded me of Chipotle. There is a menu and if this is your first time there, then I recommend looking through the menu first before ordering. Looking through the menu there are variety of toppings made with a vanilla donut. I opted for half a dozen and had the following donuts: Blueberry Pancake, Coconut Island Bliss, French Toast, Peanut Butter Paradise, S'mores, and Sunrise. I ate French Toast and the donut was warm and soft and the topping tasted like French Toast. I thought the taste would be sugary or too sweet, but it wasn't that bad at all. One donut was enough for me and had it with a glass of milk. I'd have to say that this place is different from Dunkin Donuts. The differences are twofold: the variety of toppings and only vanilla ring donut. Dunkin Donuts has variety of donuts and has chocolate donuts. There are beverages: coffee and milkshakes. I'm impressed by this place and for those with a very sweet tooth I would recommend this place. read more

Three stars mainly for the staff and experience. I personally love donuts! The best donuts I had were from Krispy Kreme, tough to beat. And they were cheaper than this place. All duck donuts are made to order so they have the basic donut they just apply different glazed and toppings to. I like stuffed donuts also so it was missing my faves. I got 4 different donuts here for $10 (-), they were warm (+) but tasted weirdly eggy(-). I'd even prefer a dunkin donut to these. Not worth it. Please consider, instead of ordering off a menu, walk people through like a subway or ice cream parlor so they can point to the toppings they want. read more

So first off the donuts were delicious! They are really sweet and rich and even though I ate 2 in one sitting, it didn't feel great and next time will probably only have 1. It's a fun experience to get fresh donuts made in front of you. The reason I only gave 3 stars instead of 4 or 5 was because of their covid precautions. I went later on a Saturday and there was no line when I got there but inside they were packed. Several times the owner exclaimed that they were over capacity and customers needed to stand outside. Which was good but then no one would watch the door and there were no signs to let newly arriving people know they need to wait outside if there are more than "x" number of customers inside. So until the owner was done taking an order at the register no one would tell the new people coming in to stand outside. One customer waiting for her order just stood outside because of the number of people inside. I'm trying to support this new local business and there is an option to do online ordering (which is what I will probably do next time). Aside from being over capacity and customers not socially distancing (due to limited indoor space) everyone was wearing a mask. I've been to several small businesses during the pandemic and it is imperative for a busy business to have clear spots for people to stand (that are 6ft apart) while waiting in line and also waiting for their order. I am not sure how long this business has been open so I understand that this is a challenging time so hopefully with time they get better! I do look forward to ordering from them in the future, but probably won't go inside unless they get better with maintaining a safe number of people inside. read more

I have heard tremendous things about this donut shop and finally had an opportunity to try them today. Upon entertaining the donut shop I was greeted with the most delicious smells, which I expect from any from scratch, made in house establishment. The cashier was busy with another order so we perused the flip style menu on the counter. Once she was ready her greeting was warm and friendly and she answered all of my newbie questions and was patients as we chose our 12 flavors. The price was a bit more than I would pay regularly for a dozen donuts (just under $30) . I understand you are getting fresh, made to order donuts, not frozen tasteless bricks. I also understand high quality ingredients cost. With that said I believe in paying for quality. .... IMO, are these $30 quality?? No. But they are 4 star really good. Once we got in the car we had to dig in. OMG they were still warm!!!!! A warm donut can make any donut taste amazing! Smart business move there and kudos to the owner for taking the extra step to serve them warm rather than have a mass production made and ready. The donut itself had the most amazing texture. So soft and velvety. That's because it's a cake donut not a yeast doughnut. I like both. I prefer cake donuts and these are the best textured cake donuts ive ever had! The frosting toppings are not overly sweet (at least not the ones I bought) as you would suspect looking at them. The real only downside for me, outside of price was the strong grease flavor. Reminded me of eating a funnel cake or fried dough from a carnival. Cake donuts are softer and more absorbent than a yeast doughnut so they are typically baked not fried. Sucks however are fried. The grease flavor was a bit overpowering for my taste. My daughter and husband didn't mind it but noticed it as well. Clearly I didn't mind it too too much because my fat a$s still ate 4 donuts! LOL 6 Hours later after sitting out on the counter, although no longer warm, they were still very tasty and perfectly soft. My review overview..... very pricey with grease flavor undertones, but a fantastic cake donut none the less. You are paying for the freshness and the experience of watching them make your order, not necessarily for the quality of the overall product. Will I purchase again? I will not go out of my way to get these again, no. if offered one from someone else's dozen, I probably won't turn it down. If I had a $10 off coupon and was in the Latham Farms Plaza area, I'd consider stopping in, but that's the extent of it. read more

They have the best donuts I have ever had! They have great customer service. The line might seem long but I will only be a few minutes. Once your inside everything is quick. They do not just have donuts they got milkshakes and breakfast products. That's just for food. They also have a large variety of rubber ducks and very nice sweatshirts and shirts but, don't forget coffee cups and hats. All nicely designed. Donuts them selves are amazing and even 3 days later pop in microwave mmmmm, anyhow on Christmas eve morning i went in and placed an order for a dozen, the cashier took it all down correctly as I had it written on paper, waited fkr donuts and some girl making the donuts said my name and handed me a box, when I got home I realized one out of the 12 donuts was actually the correct one, and to top it off my daughter is allergic to nuts and there was one donut covered in coconut, i was finally able to afford a sweet treat for the kids for a special morning treat, but I was wrong. They did not ensure the safety of their customers by staying at capacity. The employee "Dave" who was required to keep this in check did not bother to monitor the situation. Dave had to work the registers and keep an eye on the situation. No signs were put up to notify people of the capacity. If only 12 customers are allowed at a time then there should be a sign up so the public knows when they can enter. I would recommend that this place considers putting up a sign so responsible customers will be able to monitor themselves. So customers will know it'll be okay to enter or they should continue to wait outside. read more
