We ordered 5 xl pizzas online and picked up. The pizzas were ready on time. The photos on their website are misleading to say the least. ALL of the pizzas were drowning in dried oregano. Many of our 15 people do not care for oregano. It puzzles me why they would add something to their pizza without instructions to do so. Additionally, some of us were really looking forward to the "Redhead"...advertised to have sundried tomatoes and basil. Sounded yummy. However. The pie had slices of hot house fresh tomatoes and a mound of dried oregano. No sundried tomatoes or basil. NONE of us enjoyed it but yesterday was our first day here and we were HUNGRY! Excellent pizza, extremely fresh salad, exceptional customer service, and the quality of the food justifies the price you pay for it! This place is a gem among a slew of overprice mediocre restaurants in the Outer Banks! The pizza was fantastic, and it's clear they use fresh ingredients and know how to prepare a pizza. The Greek salad had perfectly fresh lettuce, a generous amount of toppings, and the dressing was delicious! This was the first place we've tried on our vacation (and we've unsuccessfully tried to eat at a variety of restaurants) where we were actually able to eat the food! Case in point, we tried to eat at the Whalehead Brewery the night before, only to watch them swat flies with their kitchen prep towels right where they finish the food before it's served to the customer. We actually told that story to the cashiers at this place and the look on their face was appalling. Shows they'd never consider such a stupid move at Duck Pizza, and God Bless them for it! To top off our experience, as we went to leave our car wouldn't start, so as we waited for AAA we went back up and asked if we could have plates and utensils so we could eat our take-out pizza there. They were more than accommodating, and again, you could see they actually cared about their customers and their experience! This place does it all right! This is a fantastic small restaurant! I ordered the chef salad and my wife had a personal pizza. The dough on the pizza was amazing! If you like your pizza cooked well and chewy dough - this is the place for you. In person service was excellent and I loved the well made salad. Awesome place with great food. Finally got ahold of them and they said they didnt know where our order was but would call me back after she called the driver...she never called back. I'm not going to lie-we only ordered from here because our usual pizza spot, Southern Shores pizza, had an hour and 15 minute wait. So we canceled that order and tried a new place instead-Duck Pizza. I am SO glad we did. Their wait was only 20 minutes which was awesome. When we first got our extra large "the works", I got a piece and was immediately disappointed when I picked it up because it was so thin! My favorite kind of pizza is thicker crust style pizza..I have NEVER been a fan of thin crust pizza. Ever. I just love thicker crust/pizza. I thought "well, oh well, something different". Well. Clearly I have just never had GOOD thin crust pizza. This was the best thin crust pizza I have ever had. It officially redeemed thin crust pizza for me. Tons of toppings which I loved. And I got to eat three pieces instead of my normal amount of two pieces since the crust/pie was so thin. And even after eating 3 pieces, I didn't feel super duper full. I was full, for sure.
