We were attending a conference. We had tried to call to let them know we had a party of 12 but couldn't get anyone on the phone. They seemed a little disturbed that we had a large party. They did get us seated and got water. Then it took at least 30 minutes to have someone take our order. About 45 minutes later the orders started to arrive. Two orders were missing, and it took another 10 minutes to get those. The food was not warm. One of the party talked to the manager, but it didn't seem to be a big deal that we waited that long and had cold food. There were no apologies or attempts to make anything better. And if you pay by credit card, there is an additional fee. I am not used to that at restaurants. read more

Late Post: We were here in May 2023. We were in town for a mid-week college baseball game and hit this place up before we left town. It seemed fairly popular for a Wednesday evening. We ordered mixed drinks and my vodka soda came to the table as a shot of vodka and a tall glass of soda water. Not sure why it wasn't mixed but I'm guessing it had something to do with our waiter seemed extremely young and maybe he didn't understand what I ordered (but the bartendar should have known). Anyway, we got a good laugh out of it! Great atmosphere inside. Lots of pictures of how the building looked in past lives which I always enjoy. Hubs and I split a Smokehouse Pizza, The Emperor Salad with added sauteed prawns, and my usual go-to at any restaurant that has it...Mac-N-Cheese (this one had pulled pork added, a little dry). The Rail House is a sports bar with multiple televisions, a bar area and a family dining area--there is plenty of room! Tonight was a family event, a birthday party for our daughter-in-law. We're no strangers to this restaurant--Sherrie and I held our rehearsal-night dinner here 26 years ago. The building was originally a warehouse next to the rail station, in the same wood and brick style with huge beams and columns. It's a beautiful building with subdued lighting and a full wall of liquor over the bar, and tables or booths for seating couples or whole families. There's a loft area for separate events or private parties. We arrived at 7pm on the Tuesday after Labor Day. The service was immediate with full attention. The front of the menu is burgers, fries sandwiches, soups and salads, with a featured section of up-scale entrées (steaks, seafood, chicken, pasta). The back of the menu is every kind of pizza you can imagine. My fish and chips (fresh cod) was some of the best I've ever had, hot, crispy and full of flavor. It came with Jo-Jo cut fries and tartar sauce (see pic). Service was not slow, it was cook-to-order, so there was time to enjoy drinks all around before the meal was served. Here's the part that impressed me. My son Guy made the reservation and asked if we could bring in our own birthday cake--they said yes. I'm old-school (don't bring food to a restaurant). But not only was this acceptable to the Rail House, they brought service for eleven people (plates, forks, napkins) and a lighter for the candles! No charge, no pressure, no complaints, just all in the spirit of good karma! We closed the place after hours slightly, and the waitresses were with us all the way. It was a 5-star experience! I would love to review this place but I went there at 430 on Thursday and waited 10 minutes to be sat. There was only one or two tables, so it wasn't busy. I was sat and waited 20 minutes for service, nobody ever came so I left. The place was neat inside and I was looking forward to trying it out, the food looked great on the menu. This is a good place for beer and food. Not like super great but pretty good. On a Friday night, the five of us were seated at a table in the bar. We called ahead and were told they had two big reserved parties, so it would be hit or miss if we came in. But could not reserve. Wait, didn't the two big parties reserve? Service was a bit slow. They had a nice selection of beer and the food was served hot. The burgers were great and the Mac and cheese was a nice mix. The side of pea salad was kind of cool and different. Second time here. Was here for the Elote. Why mangle perfection. They sent us a dry bowl of corn. The first time it was hip deep in sauce. Why serve us corn with chips?? I showed the lady server the pictures of the Elote last time. Huge difference. She took it back for more sauce. They put more sauce which made it way better but...people!!! Heat it up next time! Then we ordered the smoke house pizza which arrived on a thin cracker burnt crust. The smoke chicken was tasty along with the carmelized onion. I was I. Town and needed a place to eat, my fellow Yelpers rated this place highly and they didn't steer me wrong. I had the Tony Montana, a great Cuban sandwich. I elected to have the pasta salad, which I thought was nice, the pasta still had texture, like it was fresh not some week old pasta or a from a food service vat. I was pretty dark in side, took a few minutes for my old eyes to adjust. They had nice wood paneled walls and booths, it looks like they had original flooring from the historic building. Service was good, prices reasonable, and the food was good. I'll be back. We came here December of last year and honestly were left feeling super disappointed. Everything on the menu sounded really delicious, but everything just missed the mark entirely for us. We ordered the elote, and if you've ever had good elote, this wasn't it. It's described on the menu as "traditional seasonings and sauces" and it was far from that. It had a really weird flavor that I couldn't put my finger on, and I tried to add the limes and salt to try and make it taste better but it was just not good overall. The Fried Bacon Mac & Cheese was a little better but still really lacking in flavor and the ranch didn't really taste like ranch. Finally, we ordered an M&M skillet cookie, which wasn't on the menu but we had seen a yelp review about them before we came in. We ordered it to go but opened it before we left, thankfully we did because the first one he gave us was completely raw. The second one was better but when we took a bite of it neither one of us really liked it. It was still a little underdone and tasted like it had too much vanilla for a skillet cookie. We didn't give it back because everything had already taken so long and we didn't want to complain again. Unfortunately we didn't take any pictures because we were really hungry at the time but we left feeling super unsatisfied. It's also worth noting that we had arrived around 8:30 when the restaurant closes at 10, and the service was so slow that we ended up being there until 10. We had only ordered two appetizers and a dessert to go there was no reason for us to have been there for so long. Towards the end it felt like we were being treated poorly because we were the last ones there, which was not our fault since the service and the food took so long. I totally understand that we were the last ones, but we wanted to leave as much as they wanted us to LOL. This was a solid dinner. They have a great location downtown by the tracks (obviously... it's an old freight house). The service was fantastic, Nate did a great job of taking care of our table. We started with some jalapeño poppers. They were alright, it would have been better if the peppers were cooked longer. The flavor improves on them a lot if the skins get charred. The Port & The Storm burger was delicious! I'm normally not a fan of blue cheese, but it totally worked on this burger. The mushrooms and port reduction sauce were a dream combo! We were a party of 4 with winter coats and scarves etc. we were crammed into a booth with no room to put anything so I sat with all of it stacked up in my lap. It was a bit before we were approached by a server. Once orders were in it took probably 30 minutes. We had a picky eater with us who is also needy. It usually isn't a problem when you can get a server but it wasn't easy. She had the Manhattan steak with a baked potato. Someone left the foil underneath and it was included in the eating. Not good. I just felt the overall experience was not as pleasurable as our previous visits. We were mostly left to our own devices and not checked on. No water refills at all. No chance for extra napkins until the end and extra sour cream and steak sauce was requested and delivered almost at the end. God-awful food. Terrible presentation. Terrible service. The stench that is sometimes present in the area near the tracks isn't their fault. The metaphorical stench of the atmosphere inside the restaurant is their fault. The charming location and patio space is wasted on one of the worst restaurants I've ever been to. It's clearly a mismanaged place and I can almost guarantee you'll regret spending money here. Please don't judge all of Wenatchee based on this. We're a city struggling to provide decent dining, however, and this place does not help our cause. I would say 1.5 stars. read more

Did not get my coleslaw that I ordered and received jojos instead and then got up charged for it! Pulled pork was loaded with cut pickles to make it look like food was more substantial. Also prices were way too high for the food and atmosphere. Will never return, and the same was said for the other 9 people with me. I like the outdoor seating overlooking the park. Love the loaded jojos and Mac and cheese. They have good breakfast options as well. Fun for live music or watching WILD games. Had the fish 'n chips here which were all right. Portion size was spot on, not too much, and the fish were cooked well. Could have used more fish though. Their chips are their version of potato wedges, and they were OK. I wouldn't order this again based on the potatoes but would come back and try something else. The friend ordered their mac 'n cheese with artichokes which was served in a little skillet. It looked like a small portion but it was actually a good size, looks were deceiving by the pan. She couldn't finish it. She said it was really tasty. We sat outside as we were here in August and it was a really nice night. The patio chairs are uncomfortable, as they have your butt low then go up high at the knees, but the ambiance of the patio is cool with the train tracks right there. Father, Mother and teen daughter out for dinner. Mom, NY Manhattan Steak cooked medium-rare, under-cooked twice to the point of RAW and cold except for the outer crust 1/8 inch. Finally gave up on this order and was comped 10% on this one item for her trouble of not having anything but a salad to eat. Mom tried instead to order the Blue Buffalo Burger cooked medium. This also came out raw and inedible. Charged full price and not able to eat this. Burger had to be trashed! Daughter, ordered Lobster Mac & Cheese with added prawns. My only problem here is the use of the term prawns where what was actually added was small shrimp in the order of 40/50 per pound size and not prawns. I had Fish & Chips, simple but safe. My only point of cause here is that when a menu item says Fish & Chips I only want to see real chips like what is typically called steak fries out west here, not krinkle cut french fries. Shared an appetizer of Jalapeño Poppers. Good thing there was just the three of us or someone was going without. All told our bill was $130.84 before tax and tip. Yeah my wife's inedible orders took up nearly $50 of that but still this was not a cheap dinner for three in Wenatchee. Not going back until they can assure the public that they have cooks that know what they are doing. I won't even go back with clients because of this off-putting experience. read more

This was jot what we expected. The ambience was nice but the food and service certainly didn't match. We ordered the stuffed jalapeños. The bacon was raw! The peppers under cooked. When I told the waitress she just replied ok I will tell the kitchen. Our water glasses remained empty most of the time until we waived her down to help. My daughter and son in-law ordered two burgers. Bothe were incredibly over done and cold in the middle. Best we can tell the meat was reheated. The buns were dry and fell apart like they would if they were left out. When we sent those back the waitress apologized and sent them back. It seems like she is used to it. Now the kalishnakov sandwich I had was very good. The sweet potato fries were cold but edible. I wanted the "Jo Jo potatoes" but they were out. My wife's Cesar salad with prawns was also very good. So glad we found this gem in Wenatchee! We were headed back from Lake Chelan and decided to stop by for dinner. From the get-go, the service was a bit slow. Took about 15 mins just to get seated even though there was no one else waiting before us. That being said, we sat at the upper patio and WOW, it was beautiful! The outdoor lights were a fabulous touch and there was a nice breeze too because they had mist sprayers around the patio. The food was awesome. We got their house salad, southwest chicken salad, tomato bisque bread-bowl and a greek burger. We had heard great things about their pizza, but unfortunately they ran out of dough by the time we ordered. Overall, it was a great experience and if we are ever back in Wenatchee, we will definitely be back!! Tip: order the JoJos!! They're so soft inside, with a crunchy coating outside. This restaurant came recommended by a local, but was lackluster in my opinion. I had the steelhead & veg and my wife had the Rail burger. My fish tasted frozen with slight pepper and salt. The description said there was lemon dill butter but I couldn't taste it and couldn't see the dill. The dish picture was very different than what was served. The veg had an inconsistent mix of undercooked (raw carrots, onions and zucchini) and overcooked (mushy squash, zucchini and onions) medley. Overall it was bland. My Noblio wine was decent and chilled. My wife's burger had "caramelized" onions that tasted frozen and was not caramelized (grilled with slight char and lots of flavor). The patty was described as angus beef, but tasted like it had pork in the patty (which my wife does not like). The service was decent, but the food was disappointing. The prices were far too high for the quality. Consequently, this is consistent with a 2-3 star place in my experience. read more

He was a big guy with a beard and a very good sense of humor! The food, not so good, not bad but very expensive for what you get. I had the ribs, small portion for $24, strange texture, my friend had it as well and his was the same, anywhere else it would have cost about half as much.
