    Turkey sandwich and cashew salad
    Karlee B.

This was a nice old time diner that I enjoyed a quick lunch at while in town on business. You feel like you're transported back in time with how the features have been reserved, but not in a run down way. The servers were quick to get me seated, watered and waited on. I enjoyed a hot turkey sandwich and upgraded my side salad to their cashew salad which added a little extra to it. Enjoyed my meal. Wouldn't mind coming again.

Chicken Fried Steak with eggs over medium

This place has been a staple location since I moved to Salinas. They are more of a local joint with a basic comfort meal menu. I ordered Chicken Fried Steak with eggs over medium. It was okay, it seemed to lack a bit of flavor and the gravy need a bit of salt. Pretty much standard diner. The coffee tastes like Farmer Bros. so it is just okay. My server was prompt since I sat at the counter to order. I don't recall that she mentioned any specials, eh. The restaurant needs a refresh. it is spacious with two rooms to sit in. There are about 4 or 5 counter seats near the front.

A local tradition in old town Salinas, Dudley's offers breakfast and lunch comfort foods in a friendly atmosphere. Check out the Daily Double or the tuna melt. Lucy and the other waitstaff are always friendly and supply coffee refills at perfect intervals. Dudley's is convenient to businesses, government offices, and our tourist hub near the Steinbeck Center.

Veggie omelette breakfast and Italian sausage breakfast with toast and coffee. Yum!

Dudley's is the kind of place locals go to relax and enjoy a homemade meal. We had breakfast and I loved my extra crispy hash browns. Lucy is a very attentive waitress who runs a tight ship and seems to know the clientele by name.

    Lovely calories.

Beauty in motion. Full house and got this masterpiece. Clam chowder like clam chowder's meant to be. Eggs, fruit, hangover cure anyone? Happy Noshing. This review brought to you by Dogedollar.

Old town feel. If you like old school diners without much flare but kind service this is the spot. Good array of options from sandwiches, burgers, and breakfast omelettes. I'm from Marina and moved to Salinas. We use to go to this spot in Marina for locals breakfast. This feels like it. We ordered the Phoenix (bacon avocado, tomato, cheese) and good fries and quiche with potatoes and fruit. Solid breakfast spot and easy to pay. Will come back for sure. The people upfront the two ladies were amazing and great service.

Dudley's is a breakfast/lunch spot in oldtown Salinas. Has that classic American diner feel. Ordered: Coffee & The Yahoo! Omelet (w/ Ortega Chilles & mushrooms) The omelet was good. Fresh tasting and the chilles & mushrooms sautéed well. Country potatoes were excellent. I ordered coffee and asked for half and half. I got oil-based creamer instead... not good. Price: $21 (Meal cost: $16.93)

Road travel can be challenging enough, and being treated like only a number isn't satisfying. Dear Hubby and I stopped by on a Friday evening during the long drive from Southern California to the Bay Area. He was hungrier than I was, and I struggled to find something on the lighter side that was still tasty. I had decided on the albacore tuna sandwich and splitting a side of onion rings with DH. Then the drama with the kiosk ordering system began. Onion rings weren't coming up as a choice at all. The kitchen staff (including whoever was suppose to be available to run the regular register in case someone wants to pay with cash or has questions) were all busy, busy doing their things. Their backs were to their customers, which became annoying and rude. I DID have questions, and the kiosk wasn't allowing me to order what I wanted to order. I ended up telling DH what I wanted and gave up to go to the car as I'd forgotten something in there. When I came back he was waiting to fill up our drink cups. He gave me the table number card and I found a table. He said that he did get to speak with a human after all after I'd gone outside. Surprise, surprise! When the food came, my sandwich, while tasty, was super sloppy with too much sauce. I had a hard time eating it without risking wearing part of the 'wich on my clothes. It was an unsatisfying experience on many levels. I don't blame this store, per se - I realize that it's a decision foist on them by management up the food chain. I've always respected the Habit Burger chain, but that feeling took a big hit with the fiasco at the Salinas location. I didn't feel welcome or appreciated. Removing the human connection is a big mistake for any business that requires building customer loyalty. Saving a few bucks on a real worker by installing an ordering kiosk that's not smart is not good business, in my humble opinion. I would not plan to return to this location, and will not have Habit as a top choice for dining out any time soon at other locations.

Drink selection is interesting: in house tea, juice mix and vitamin water. I decided because cupholder in car only fits regular cups to get regular only from now because I was holding cup of Large cup previously, and I would dropped it because feels too flimsy. Regular size seems more stable. Service is fast and speedy by Togo, and stay to eat. If you stay, it's well lit and very clean. Windows don't have smudges unless you put them there. A couple of friends and me took the opportunity to stop by on our drive back to LA from the Bay Area (along the 101). First impression: one of those convivial breweries with a thriving locals aspect and vibe. Friends I was with are really into craft beer, so we felt right at home. The folks here were super friendly and welcoming. As a matter of fact, there were some cookies made from another regular that was offered to us while we were there. And those cookies were delish. They have a good variety of styles on draft, but I opted for the BA Barleywine, which was excellent. They also had the football games playing on the TV there so there was that sports bar aspect without being to crowded/ crazy. This place is located in an industrial area of Salinas. We didn't have a problem at all finding parking. Love their beers and love this spot. I would definitely hit it up more if I was able.
