We always look forward to visiting Ybor City. Tonight we felt like pasta and searched the area using Yelp. We liked the reviews of Due Amici and after having their Lasagna and Eggplant Parmigiana are very happy we did! Both dishes were served steaming hot with a breaded garlic knot on top. A very good and balanced portion of meat, cheese and sauce. Please allow my bias on the sauce, we loved the taste! The seating area is open with just enough light. The tables and floors are clean and some nice decor is spread throughout. The staff really hustles and our server was very nice and attentive with just the right amount of humor. And be certain to treat yourself to a cannoli. Very tasty and without the "way too hard shell" you find at other establishments. read more

Great place for a quick slice of authentic, Neapolitan style NY pizza. Big, open seating place with full bar and beer and wine. The slices are big and generous, and they are well done, which is the way that kind of pizza should be. 3 slices and 2 drinks came to about $20, and it was plenty of food for 2 people. Service is fast and the owner friendly, greeting us both on the way in and out. read more

I must say this was truly great. I thought I was getting Cavatelli but I got a penne and I'm ok with it because the sauce to meat ratio was PERFECT. I never really order take out from such establishments, but they made the experience so perfect that I will definitely do it again when I'm in Tampa. read more

Holy pizza! If you want authentic NY-style pizza, this is it! The pizza we got was HUGE but still had lots of flavor and the crust was perfectly dough-y (yes, that's a word). I grabbed a "vegetable salad" which was romaine, greens, tomatoes, onion, cucumber, broccoli, bell pepper and blocks of cheese. It was so fresh and delicious. While waiting for my pizza, on a Friday night at 830p, it was a total party scene, people everywhere and this place churning out pizzas left and right. The older guy, must've owned the place, heard a song he liked and just turned the music up blaring....it was like a rock concert, the crowd went wild scream-singing right along with him! Too bad we were just doing to-go to be up super early the next day, otherwise this is a great first stop of the night to grab a slice and go play! read more

Absolutely blown away by this place!! I had the italian panini and my partner had the lasagna-the food was delicious, big portions with plenty of protein , service was amazing and the whole vibe of the restaurant was so pleasant! we even got a free cheesecake slice to try!! Have been excited to try Due Amici for quite some time now. Social media and Yelp have continuously pointed me towards Due Amici with their massive, delectable looking pizza slices, wonderful ambiance/interior, and great customer service. While I was able to experience all of this during our visit to Due Amici, the pizza, the main reason I was there, did not hit the spot nor meet my expectations based on everyone else's reviews and takes. The pizza was by no means a bad pizza, the crust was done perfectly, it was cooked well, and the toppings were abundant, but there was just something missing that didn't make this a 5 star pizza for me. With that being said, we did get a chicken bacon ranch pizza and we weren't drunk. I consider that a mistake on our end. Not because Due Amici made the pizza poorly but because my expectations of a CBR pizza were different from my present state of mind. Anyways, pizza was large as advertised, was definitely good but not great, and service didn't skip a beat. Will be back to try a regular cheese or pepperoni slice to get the true rating of Due Amici and update if so needed. read more

Cute little mom & pop. Limited seating. Excellent service. Although, you must order at the counter. My chicken parm was AMAZING! It is a twist on most restaurants who use spaghetti. I am assuming the mgr or owner is the guy running the place. He was very friendly. Offered free water bottles and canolis were brought, free of charge. Great personality. I would definitely return when visiting Tampa. read more

Was in the mood for some good pizza and decided to check out this Old faithful! Typically this is a spot friend and I would patronize after a night out in ybor haha! Fun fact the pizza is just as good during the day. If you're not looking for pizza they do have some other Italian dish options available. The pastas freshly made and you can see the process that's the area is open for you to observe. This restaurant is very clean and the staff is friendly. read more

I came in expecting it to be one of those places with worn out pizza staff that don't care about the job or the place. I found that they were very service inclined, very friendly, very reasonable with their prices, and their food is pretty good. Their pizza is good. Nothing more needs to be said. In the back they have an area where they sell other things like pasta and desserts. I can't tell you much about the pasta but I can tell you about the desserts. The desserts are really good. We tried 4 of their desserts and found them to be better quality than what we thought they'd be. It was a prefect blend of feeling homemade, and sweet but not too sweet. It's definitely worth checking out. I went at a time when there wasn't any "Ybor weekend madness" and I found that the experience was well worth it. read more

Fire I am from New York and I will say this is quality pizza. Was very happy with the mushroom pizza slice and margarita pizza slice. Also thought it was awesome in front of the store you see the workers actually making the dough for the pizza. Would definitely eat here again read more

Since my original review, I've been back to Due Amici about 5 times and it progressively gets worse. The first few times were with coworkers and the food was okay. The service is honestly what gets me back. This most recent time, I went with my boyfriend and it was horrible. We waited 20+ minutes to be serviced. It wasn't busy but we were just there. Once we got our pizza it was hard and slightly burnt. I ordered cannolis and they took forever to come out it seems. They said it was being made fresh and I couldn't tell. It was chewy and frozen tasting. This was a subpar experience from what I was used it. Also, the cannolis tasted incredibly store bought which was disappointing read more

They advertise this place as a New York style pizza , that's as close as you're going to get to New York style pizza. If you don't go to New York, it's a large one sliced pizza to me was a little expensive, but tasted good. There is no service so you order at the bar pay at the bar and pick up your order at the bar they have a good variety of pizzas not just your traditional cheese and pepperoni pizza. They have a barbecue pizza, a barbecue chicken pizza, buffalo chicken pizza, three or four different cheese pizzas but I was hard-pressed to see just a pepperoni pizza. If you're in the area I would recommend you try this place out. read more

Delicious pizza that are large slices so worth every penny. Also chicken Alfredo is a 10/10 such good flavor. Amazing service the staff are very attentive with fast service and great decor. We stumbled in here right before a comedy show. The pizza you can see from the glass window drew us in. That night we thought it was amazing. That was about a year ago. Fast forward to last week, we were in Ybor doing the audio tour and thought, okay we have to go back to see if it is just as good. Y'all. It is amazing. We got two different slices, the margherita and the white. Loved the margherita. Their pizza sauce is fantastic. I wouldn't get anything that doesn't come with it. We also took home two bottles of their sauces. We had one this week and loved it. Needless to say, we will go back. We will buy more sauce and gosh darn it's next time I'm getting those dreamy garlic knots! #BryYelps : mom and dad do it again. They take me to a delectible pizza place. This was my first time to eat out in months. Thankfully, the place was pretty empty so I got to enjoy the whole booth. Mom and dad let me try everything. Grew hungry while exploring Ybor city, so we stopped by to grab a meal. We had chicken stromboli, which was huge, but a tad bland; stuffed meat lovers, which was delicious; chicken parmigiana slices, also very tasty; and cannolis, which were good, but certainly not the best I've had. The customer service was average. If you're looking for a slice of crispy crust and cheesy goodness, this place will fit the bill. If you are partying or at the bar with your friends in Ybor City... THIS is the place you have to come right after to complete your night! Their pizzas are always recently baked and with fresh ingredients, their staff is always friendly and giving good recommendations and offering many other food items they offer in their back kitchen. The place is big and the decoration goes really well with the Italian concept, the open kitchen looks amazing and sometimes you get to watch the chefs prepare their delicious dishes. RATS IN THE KITCHEN!!! I will NEVER eat at Du Amici's in Ybor again!! I saw a rat sitting on the counter where the pasta is made and alerted the man making the pizza! He brushed it off saying it's Ybor and there's nothing they can do!! I called the Tampa Health inspector! This place needs to be shut down immediately!!! read more

De-liciois! Stopped is for a quick bite to go. There were probably about 10 different pizza options to choose from. All displayed, you take your pick and they heat it in the oven for you. The favorite slice in the group was the meat lovers. The bacon was diced up very thinly, Just an overall good slice. We had to stop over at the dessert display case. I have to assume it was an owner or manager that came up to us. She was delightful! She gave us three cannolis complimentary. They have several jars of sauce available. I had to take one home of course. Arrabbiata sauce, I can't wait to try it. I was also given some house made pasta to go along with the sauce. Seriously I was feeling the love. I will absolutely recommend this place to anyone in the area and can't wait to return. read more

Why do I love Due Amici? Because, after a TBLightning game, you can head on over to Ybor and rely on Due Amici to make you fresh pasta, even if it's 11:00 pm! My husband always get the buffalo chicken pizza, which he loves. When you walk in, pizzas are already prepared and placed in the oven. Quick, fast, and friendly service! While there isn't much seating, send a member of your group to secure a table while the others stand in line! It's a bit loud, but that's to be expected given this restaurant is right in the middle of Ybor. On a weekday, walk right across the street and sign up for karaoke and double decker to end your night on a high note! We stopped in for lunch because we heard from friends how good the pizza was here. I agree that the pizza is very good. I had a slice of the stuffed pizza. It was more than enough to eat. However, I was shocked to find out that it was $12 for that one slice of pizza! My wife had the lasagna pizza and she thought it was delicious! The atmosphere is nice and they have a wide selection of different kinds of pizza and other foods as well. They have salads, desserts, bakery and a bar. The staff was friendly as well. read more

Due Amici has good pizza, but their pasta is the best! I got the sausage, peppers, and onion meal and it was DELICIOUS. Ended up going back a cougar days later to get the same thing and it was just as good lol. I am a Due Amici fan through and through. This is some of the best pizza in Tampa Bay. Located off 7th Ave in Ybor, Due Amici is a order by the slice or whole pizza place. I personally have not been earlier than the hours of 10pm to 2am, but there's always a line which tells you it's good! When you walk up you see the assortment of pizza options which they reheat in their oven. When you check out it is open seating which on busy nights means it can be limited. I like to go for an OG pepperoni or even meat lovers pizza to hit the spot. The slices are large and the traditional NY style pizza is nice and greasy! read more

(though still comically high) Rocca continues to be solid, if not spectacular. Two things I think hold it back; first, value. The prices feel too high relative to the portion/tastiness. A great comparison restaurant to Rocca would be Rezdora in Manhattan. I would put Rezdora a few rungs above Rocca in quality/flavor (it's one of the top 100 restaurants in NYC per the NY Times and has a Michelin star, very different than landing one in Tampa) yet the prices at Rocca are effectively the same (each have a traditional ragu at $28). You also don't have to look as far as Manhattan. Just across the bay is Elliott Aster who I think delivers more delicious food, in heartier portions, at a better price point. Given Rocca is perpetually fully-booked, Tampa is obviously okay with their prices, so I suppose 'don't hate the player' (you can't begrudge anyone from charging what they can in this restaurant environment), but for me the value isn't there. Second - I think the inside could use some work. Looking at Eliott Aster, Predalina, or Ponte you can see an example of more elevated interior design. I think Rocca comes off more kitschy than 'homey'.

I checked my phone and received an email from Open Table stating " the restaurant canceled your reservation" at 1:10 p.m. Everyone was already on the road and we don't check emails while driving. Why not post a sign on the door instead of having patrons stand outside in 100° heat wondering what happened? We didn't see emergency personal, a fire truck or ambulance, so thankfully it wasn't anything catastrophic. Knowing the Columbia and Casa Santo Stefano are owned by the same family, we walked to the Columbia, they graciously honored our reservation. We had a great meal even though it wasn't the Italian Sunday pasta we were anticipating. Someone told me Casa posted that they were open at 4 p.m. on Monday. Good thing we didn't wait around on Sunday. Casa Santo Stefano, how about doing right by your disappointed patrons? How about comping a meal for Dad or least a complimentary glass of wine, coffee and dessert so I can change this 1 star review to a 5 star!

(though still comically high) Rocca continues to be solid, if not spectacular. Two things I think hold it back; first, value. The prices feel too high relative to the portion/tastiness. A great comparison restaurant to Rocca would be Rezdora in Manhattan. I would put Rezdora a few rungs above Rocca in quality/flavor (it's one of the top 100 restaurants in NYC per the NY Times and has a Michelin star, very different than landing one in Tampa) yet the prices at Rocca are effectively the same (each have a traditional ragu at $28). You also don't have to look as far as Manhattan. Just across the bay is Elliott Aster who I think delivers more delicious food, in heartier portions, at a better price point. Given Rocca is perpetually fully-booked, Tampa is obviously okay with their prices, so I suppose 'don't hate the player' (you can't begrudge anyone from charging what they can in this restaurant environment), but for me the value isn't there. Second - I think the inside could use some work. Looking at Eliott Aster, Predalina, or Ponte you can see an example of more elevated interior design. I think Rocca comes off more kitschy than 'homey'.

We are not big bread people and honestly don't even usually like focaccia, but she insisted we order the focaccia with whipped ricotta and herb oil. I'm still thinking about it. Calling it focaccia almost feels inaccurate; it was unlike any bread I've ever had. More like a piece of heaven. We started with the hamachi, which had the perfect amount of spice -flavorful and fresh without being overpowering. For dinner, we ordered the chicken cutlets and two pasta dishes: the strozzapreti with wagyu beef cheek and hazelnuts, and the mafalde with black truffle, miso, and cacio e pepe. Both pastas were incredible: rich in flavor but still delicate and not overly heavy or filling. Just perfect. We also tried the "perfect skinny margarita," and the name fits: not too sweet, not too tart, just really balanced and delicious.
