I got the Tuesday special, which was salbury Steak with gravy and onions. Side of cabbage, potato salad, and hushpuppies. Let me tell you the value is there. Great prices, home cooked grandma's style food. Cabbage was cooked wonderfully. The sweet tea was so good, and the staff gives you a piture to refill from. The issues I had were the booths. They were old and not much space between the table and booth to sit if you're a larger person. Also smelled like old people and cat pee. Wasn't a pleasant smell at all. Was all throwaway plates, cups, and silverware.

BBQ Chicken, fried okra, collard greens & hush puppies

Old time grill that I was looking for. Went for cheeseburgers and hotdogs. But they offered much more. Very friendly and helpful staff.

I had grilled pork chops, fried okra, & peas. The chop was ok, but the vegetables were not very good.

Food is awesome! Always hot & cooked to order. So many options as sides. Great customer service. My favorite is the bacon cheeseburger!

Stopped at Duff's on the way home from the beach. Delicious, down home, country cooking. Quick, service with a smile.

The vibes here are so great! Love the story behind the restaurant's name and a powerful woman!…read more Came here on Saturday for lunch right at opening & we were surprised by how busy it got shortly after. Speaks for itself. The Saturday special was wings & a $5 selected pint! The pint special was a Oktoberfest beer which was fun because usually it's something that isn't really worth the $5 at most places. I got the BYO burger, my husband got the Betsy Ross & my daughter got the kids cheeseburger. Get the Molly's sauce with the fries- it has such great flavor! We all enjoyed our food and had 3 empty plates. Service was fast & all the staff we encountered was very nice. The outdoor patio with tables is always an added bonus for seating options!

Unfortunately, we were by the door, and it was a little chilly with people coming in and out, but I totally understand that they have to pack in tables due to being so busy. Service was friendly and quick, and they were very patient with the fact that a member of our party was late arriving. I went with the Oh Molly, which included 3 eggs, bacon, sausage, homefries, grits & a biscuit with mollasses butter. They let me sub in double bacon since I don't eat sausage. The main draw for that dish for me was the molasses butter. The molasses flavor wasn't as strong as I was hoping, but it was still really tasty. The biscuit was soft and perfect, I liked the grits, the eggs were cooked right. There was room for improvement on the hashbrowns. For such a busy spot, the gender-segregated single stall restrooms did have a bit of a wait. So, just keep that in mind. Also, when they are busy, their parking lot does fill up. We struggled a bit with parking. I'd definitely stop in again!

Most places will cover the plate with fries so you have to hunt for the shrimp, not this place. You have to hunt for your fries. Friendly service, We've always ordered to go and never eaten inside.

This was my first trip to "Carolina Girls", and while I had read what I could find about the food,…read moreservice and ambiance, I hope to improve upon reporting so others will have an easier time. First, I will say that the food was good! I have to admit that it was not what I expected, but here is what I found. I ordered a combination of shrimp and flounder, with fries and green beans as sides. See the photo of shrimp and flounder, with fries and green beans! Shrimp were small, about 50ct I estimate. They were lightly battered and very tasty. I expected larger shrimp, but given the light batter and excellent taste, I thoroughly enjoyed the shrimp. The flounder was also lightly battered, and perfectly cooked. It was excellent. Fries are fries, and these were OK. But the real big surprise were the green beans! They were likely the best I've ever had. That leaves hush puppies, and their spread. The hush puppies could have been very good, but were served at just above room temperature. The spread was a butter substitute that was indeed sad. Here is my Professional Tip: Prepare and proudly present your own hush puppy spread. Make it by simply blending real butter and real honey and serve it in reusable stainless steel 2-oz containers. It would be unique, cost minimal, and set the pace for ambiance enhancement. Service was good, but they allowed kitchen staff to sit in the serving area and converse with customers. A little too "homey" for me. Lastly, in regard to ambiance they seem to be finding their "sea legs", as decorations did enhance the feeling of a seafood restaurant. Small improvements could be in changing ceiling light bulbs to a warmer 2700 Kelvin color range, and adding disposable place mats with three utensils, better napkins, and new condiment bottles. I know some may think of these suggestions as nit-picky, but please trust that I want this place to excel.
