Tasty and the death sauce was amazing! I had Duffs for the first time for lunch (my boyfriend has been raving for it). I'm still fairly new to eating chicken wings so I got the boneless wings but I love spicy things (to the point of your lips feeling puffed up and feeling a tingle in your stomach) so I decided to get the death sauce. I liked how the waiter asked beforehand for the option of having the sauce separately on the side in case (but for spicy food people- I would recommend the sauce seeping into the wings first because you can taste the mixture of the chicken flavor and the sauce/it felt less spicier when I dipped it and let it sit for a minute). More details on the hot sauce for the spicy loving folks: You can't automatically smell the spicyness unless your face is up close to it but the spice isn't automatically hot when you eat it. The heat inclines slowly so the more you eat it you will feel it! I usually nibbles on celery and carrots in between bites and that helped out a lot. But the thing about this spice is it has flavor on its own (you can dip it with french fries or celery which tasted pretty good), like it was spicy but tasty spicy- not salty, painful spicy! I am from out of town but the Lyft driver said these wings are the best (and better . The place was hopping with about a 20 minute wait. Beer was good and wings were excellent. Good service and fair prices. Happy I made the stop! read more

Very generous portions at reasonable prices. These six pizza logs and load of fries cost only about 15 dollars. The taste was par for the course, fries tasted like mcdonalds fries and pizza logs like those anywhere. But it was quite nice. read more

Unfortunately we didn't have a good experience here, Duff's is our favorite place to eat when passing through Buffalo, we always stop at the airport location, which I just left a wonderful review for, as for this one we won't be back. We stopped in on our drive to Syracuse for lunch, as we always do we informed the waitress that we brought nuggets for our son, he has autism and will not eat anything off their menu, we understand rules about bringing outside food into restaurants ( which in my 5 years so far, I've never had a problem ) she was fine with it and we ordered our usual Beef on weck with 5 wing combos. The manager brought our food over, keep in mind the seating at this restaurant is very close together, it's nothing like the airport location which is fine, I think it's the original location, WELL.... he wasn't to happy we had nuggets for our son....He said "it's fine now, but just so you know.... we don't allow outside food in our restaurant " ... I get that we seen the sign and we asked our waitress?? I proceeded to tell him my son has autism and he WILL not eat anything here, yes I see your kids meals , yes I've been to Duff's at least 6 times a year when we go through Buffalo, and NO I've never had a problem in the past! Thanks for embarrassing us in your small restaurant, and thanks for your understanding with special needs children! If my son was in a wheelchair would you still have said that?? Disabilities aren't always visually known, we told you our son has autism and you repeated your original statement??! Get some training on people with special needs, and tell your wait staff to let us know IF it's not ok. Your airport location welcomes us with open arms, as for your location.... we will never be back. read more

My favourite place for WINGS! This is the location of the first Duff's. I got the hot flavour it was extremely spicy. Be warned don't expect the "hot" flavour to be the same as other places. All the spice levels are a level up from other places and so is the quality of the wings. Wings are juicy and crispy with the right amount of sauce. I can't wait to go back for more! read more

Amazing! Haven't been here in years and it was exactly what I was looking for. Was trying out other wings in the area and came to realized I haven't been to Duff's in a while. Decided to come here on my last day and glad I did. Staff were great, very friendly and helpful. Pizza logs was also great. Wings medium hot is my fav! read more

This inter-city rivalry is justified. We loved Duff's but felt a bit deceived on their warning of "mild is hot". So we dialed it down on the heat scale. Our favorite flavor was "medium light" as it had nice flavor that wasn't overpowering. We like the dryer, smooth flavor wings at Duff's and will return. But don't order "mild" unless you've never had wings before. This is a 4+ review, but our vote goes to its competitor. Both very very good Wings. read more

Between the battle between Duff's and Anchor bar for the best buffalo wings in the city we believe Duff's is the winner. Even though Anchor bar claims to be the inventors of the buffalo wings, their invention has been perfected by Duff's. The servers here are just so polite and friendly. The seating is quite cramped up and the place has a really shady vibe to it. It was really weird that a place this famous isn't cleaned up and looks so dull.They have signs everywhere which read "hot is very very hot" so we just had to get those! We tried: Hot wings: These are not as hot as they advertise it to be but yes they do have a kick. BBQ hot: Now this one was spectacular! Perfect balance between sweet n spicy and they were crisp on the outside. Loved it Fries: Really yummy fries. read more

I tried 3 wings joints on my trip to Buffalo: Duff's definitely bested Anchor Bar and Elmo's, and if I didn't have any concern about how long I was going to live, I would probably eat here once a week. The interesting thing about Buffalo wings is... well, they're not rocket science to make. Buffalo may be the birthplace of the wing, but don't think you're going to have a transcendental Buffalo Wing experience that you can't get in most other cities these days. read more

While traveling for work I can decided to eat here, as I've enjoyed it in the past. Well again it was excellent. I did have a few wings that weren't quite crispy like I like them, but it wasn't a big enough concern to lose a star. The fries are also excellent! I had mild-medium wings and they had just enough spice, but not over the top. read more

Excellent wings, and that should be a "given" as this is one of the spots that began the "Buffalo" wings category. I've only been here one time, with Buffalo natives who now live far away. I live in the Pittsburgh area. Wings were great...as expected. Worth making a stop to experience the origins of "wings" especially for visitors. Even if only a quick over! read more

I go to the Eastern Hills Mall Duffy and the wings have always been amazing, large, crispy and flavorful. I mix the medium hot sauce with the hot which is the perfect combination of flavored sauce. The bleu cheese is delicious too! read more

Stopped through buffalo travelin MO to ME, searched best wings in buffalo and got a few results this one was most convenient n had most reviews. Wings; good crunch, their sign about level of spice was inaccurate to me and I would say hot is just hot, or a hot medium for me. Side of carrots n celery, came w blue cheese forgot to ask for ranch. got shoe string fries for extra 1$ for the combo was worth it. Overall; happy I stopped, didn't think anything was over the top exciting or remarkable but just solid and tasty wings. So I'm definitely not a local but.... Duff's has good wings. Crispy, meaty and well-sauced. They also have good beers, especially their in-house craft IPA "Duff's" (ala "The Simpsons"). I know there's this rivalry between Anchor Bar, originator of the Buffalo wing, and Duff's. I know some people prefer Duff's so we wanted to try both. After giving both spots a thorough consideration I have to say I vastly prefer Anchor for several reasons (better sauce, better sides, better atmosphere, better non-wing entrees). I can only imagine those that prefer Duff's are either (a) locals who grew up on it and have a nostalgic affinity for them, or (b) contrarians who want to like another place better than the tourist draw original. But, certainly not a bad meal and it was very fairly priced. read more

Medium wings. They were hot enough for me to tolerate the spiciness, which is always different where ever you go. They were cooked crispy and seasoned evenly. Had Duff's Wingman IPA and it was tasty. Had to order a Pepsi to drink with the wings though. I would definitely go back and try other sauce flavors or just plain. Service was great! Our waitress attended our needs and came to our table regularly. It was a Sunday so not too sure if that has anything to do with it. But bought a couple of shirts and left to the next place to try wings. Glad I was able to tey it out this trip! read more

I ordered takeout from here recently on my travels through Buffalo. This was my third time at Duff's and I've always liked these wings but think they are overrated. Every time I have been here I have ordered wings. This time I ordered 20 wings to go with spicy BBQ and mild-medium sauces. The flavors taste excellent. However, the wings are on the smaller side and some look quite pathetic with the amount of meat on the bones. With decent sized wings 10 is plenty to fill me up. With this last order I could have eaten all 20 and still been hungry. Overall a good namesake for Buffalo with some good wing sauces. I don't mind coming back here but have not been impressed with the wings. They are a step up from your average wing but I would not consider them as anything above decent. read more

BEST WINGS IN BUFFALO!!! Wings are huge, which is why they are my favorite. I also love how spicy their sauce is! My boyfriend and I usually order our wings "hot" but be warned - hot is VERY hot. My eyes usually tear up a bit, but it is so worth it because they are delicious. My usual order is 5 wings + Beef on weck. This is available during lunch time for only $15! I also love their fries and chili. I don't usually eat chili when I am out to eat because I prefer homemade, but their chili is great! The fries are perfect for when you need a break from the hot sauce and you're trying to cool off your tongue. The only bad part about Duff's is that it gets super crowded during dinnertime & on the weekends. The line usually moves quickly, but I tend to get hangry when I am waiting to be seated so I like to come during off times. read more

This is my second time at Duff's and this visit was consistent with my first visit. The wings wings are nice and saucy with the right amount of crispiness. One thing that still amazes me is how they get the food out so fast. We probably waited 12 minutes tops for a triple order or wings and French fries. I've waited longer than this at a dive through restaurant. After today's visit we will definitely be back. read more

I am a buffalo wing lover from the Chicagoland area and these wings were just awesome. My family and I stayed at a nearby hotel traveling back to Chicago from Boston back in July. Back in 2015 we got carry out from the Anchor Bar and our food from Duff's was sooo... much better. My hot wings which were very very hot as advertised were well sauced unlike the Anchor Bar. My wife's breaded chicken fingers platter was a big and generous portion. Anytime in the future that I travel through Buffalo, I'll definitely stop at Duff's. read more

But overall, this location falls short. Go to one of the other locations instead.

It's been 15 years since I've been back here. Being a little older and wiser about food now, I do think I can kind of see how some of the locals think other places are better. I now think I have to try somewhere else in Buffalo to figure that out for myself. These wings are really good. I'd eat them happily any day of the week. I wish I could get them back home in Philly. Actually... not for nothing. Now I think I could get wings this good in Philly. I mean they sell the sauce back home. And the technique isn't really a secret anymore. For the most part it was very family friendly and the sounds were tolerable and we could talk and be heard at a natural level. Decor was great and every group that came in was seated promptly. The only problem was both the mild and medium were not sauced enough in my opinion and I'm not even someone who likes saucy wings. But given that everything was so good I decided to give them five stars instead of just four. The night before I picked up the order I learned from a public post that they will become Joey's Pizza soon. I've never been there but their reviews at their main location are pretty good so I'm hopeful that they will stay just as good as this order was.
