I hadn't heard about Duff's until I read an Anchor Bar review talking about the rivalry between the two. Now that I've tried both, I think I'm firmly on Team Duff! They put a lot more sauce on their wings, which I prefer. The chicken itself is about the same quality as Anchor Bar. We got one of the specials with 10 medium wings and 10 sweet wings. (I forget the actual name, but it was the only sweet one on the menu, although there's an upcharge for it.) The sweet wings were perfect for my Vietnamese wife, who doesn't like the aroma of the buffalo wings, and they weren't kidding when they said the medium is actually hot. The fumes on them when they first come out sting one's nostrils, and I have a very high tolerance for spice! The order also came with a crazy amount of fries! They were no better than McDonald's, but the amount they gave might be the equivalent of 4-5 large McD fries, way more than enough for two people.
Coming to Buffalo we had to find the best wing spot. My dad and I both had this place bookmarked besides the place known for inventing them, however after being told by a few locals that the original place isn't really the best we decided on duffs. We had the pizza logs and jalepeno poppers to start. I had the 5 boneless lunch special which came with a side of fries. My son wanted the 20 piece so he got the daily special which is apparently for 2 to share so keep that in mind as he has a healthy appetite and did not finish his food. Everyone else at the table shared his large fries and there was left over. The boneless wings were mild and had a great crunch and mild flavor. The medium and bbq my son had were unique sauces. Medium is advertised as hot but to me, trying the sauce was not very hot. My dad thought it was pretty vinegar forward but I think that's how the original sauce is done. My son's mouth did start to burn after about the 5th wing so I would maybe still call that a medium? The bbq sauce was too strong on the ketchup flavor according to my dad but I thought it was good, not sweet. I'm not a wings person, theirs didn't look very appetizing but my son didn't care much for the bbq and he doesn't like flats which are the only ones I eat so I ate a few of his bbq flats and was surprised that they had a little crunch to them too. The pizza logs are essentially pizza egg rolls. I like it. The jalepeno poppers come with a red pepper and we're different but tasty. Service was not friendly but not rude. Definitely not attentive. More like dive bar service. We were asked if we were ready to order immediately upon sitting but when we said no, did not get a chance to order drinks or apps or anything
A Buffalo Establishment in its own right beloved by locals and nowadays more often by tourists. People often make the pilgrimage to Duffs to eat fried Buffalo Chicken wings. (Myself included during a recent road trip to Niagara with my wife). The space was modest and it was clear the place maintained its level of charm as a popular destination. They were fully staffed and you can expect your order to arrive in a reasonable time. Duff's Famous Wings taste tangy, buttery, and boldly spicy, with a sharp vinegar kick and rich cayenne heat that coats crispy, juicy chicken. I would not say it is the best though but I'll save that for another review.
Came for dinner and got the combo #1 that came with 20 wings, a small fried, and a small pitcher. Got the loganberry which is a buffalo specialty drink that's like a mix of raspberry and black berry. It was pretty good, sweet and tarty and went well with wings. The small fries was really big and you have to salt it yourself which I appreciate. We got the medium (which wasn't very hot and tasted only like buffalo so definitely can get hotter as someone who isn't that good with spice) and the sweet Cajun which I prefer a lot more. Wings are cooked well and the service was excellent. We even got to sample the loganberry before ordering it. Overall, service was amazing and food was pretty good. Lots of people for a Monday night.
Shared 10 wings here - the sweet cajun glaze and the spicy garlic parm. The flavors are pretty solid, although the garlic parm wasn't spicy at all. The chicken wings themselves were a bit of a disappointment. All of them were very overcooked to the point where even the meat was crunchy hard and well done on the inside. Fast service despite the house being packed and a long waitlist behind us.
Always ranked as one of the top wings places to go to in Buffalo. Once again Duff's didn't disappoint. We shared an order of 20 spicy BBQ wings and I had a Duff's Wingman IPA. The beer is brewed by Community Beer Works. It is a very good IPA, not to bitter and full of flavor. The wings were great with a little crunch and a very good BBQ sauce that had a bit of a kick. Once again a wonderful visit to Duff's.
They did it again! This time I ordered ahead to avoid the wait at the restaurant. They were still packed on a Tuesday night. Hostess was very friendly and gave an accurate time remaining for my order. I ordered 5 lemon pepper wings. . .it was just enough to make you want more! They were hot, crispy, tender, and flavorful at the same time. The side order of celery and carrots was enough to feed 10 people. Next time I'll order more wings!

We had a few different types of wings, Medium (which is HOT by any other standand) BBQ, Sweet Cajun Glaze and Mild Medium. We had sides of fries which were skinny and crisp and hot! We also ordered Mozzarella Sticks, and chips with Queso Sauce. Everything was fabulous. When we first came in it was very chilly in the dining room but the Manager did not hesitate to turn up the heat for us. Service was friendly and very quick. We would definately recommend this place!

Had to try the regional loganberry drink. Reminds me of ribena. It was too sweet for us so we asked for a cup of water to tone it down. Our server was very friendly.
A Buffalo staple known for their buffalo wings. But if you've never ask me they're pretty good but not the best wings in town. The classic buffalo wing in my opinion is a bit on the vinegary side here and ordering even five of them becomes repetitive and a bit of a slog after a while. Their other flavors are better. The spicy garlic parm is my fave but I def recommend trying out as many as you can and finding your own favorite. The place is definitely a classic buffalo wing bar with their wooden benches and Bills arcade game in the corner of the entrance. The wait staff is great and I really like how they bring you a bucket to put the bones into. If you are looking for a classic Buffalo wing experience Duffs will surely fill your belly and your chicken wing soul.

We were in Buffalo to go to the AKG museum. We were inside for better than 3 hours and were hungry. Buffalo....Duff's wings. The GPS took us to the first location that opened (the waitress said the 1960s) a long time ago. The building is sitting at an angle from the road so go to the right and turn in to park or go past and turn right for the parking lot. Middle of the afternoon on a Thursday they weren't too busy. We were seated immediately and waited on quick. I wanted some clarity with the wing heat. Some places hot is mild or hot is burn your face off. She clarified the medium hot is hot so that's what I decided on for an order of 6. My sister isn't so much of a wing person so she decided on a grilled cheese. The waitress was pleasant and answered all the questions we had. The restaurant itself isn't too big but can seat a lot of people. Total wing vibe. Lots of different flavors and quantities went by...everything looked tasty and fresh. They had Yuengling on tap so that's what I ordered. She had a pepsi. Food arrived fast. The aroma was to die for (ok it burns the eyes a little...). Came with celery and blue cheese. The wings were amazing, some of the best I have ever eaten. Crunchy celery and cool dipping sauce. Bigger than most that I have ordered and very freshly prepared. After 6 I was filled up...but I ordered another brew just to wash it all down. If you're in Buffalo (or the area) it's definitely worth stopping to have a treat. Other Buffalo favorites are on the menu as well (Beef on Weck sandwich. I can absolutely see why they have the following they do in buffalo. You definitely have to try this place at least once. I'm not sure if I believe there heat level warnings. I'm definitely not that guy who says " you call that hot". Really great vibe and staff for take out. Bonus they have some really neat merchandise. There logo is simple but cool We got medium wings and they were by far the most aromatic and hard hitting on your nostrils of any buffalo wings They weren't my absolute favorite in buffalo but they were damn good and unique read more

Loved the no-frills divey ambiance. The wait was around 30 minutes on a Saturday evening. We ordered 20 medium and 10 super hot wings, large fries (huge portion), beef weck sandwich and chef salad. Unfortunately the medium sauce was wayyy too salty, but the crispiness and size of the wings was good. The super hot sauce was a little less salty so I enjoyed those more. We should have tried a few different sauces (you have to order 10 in one sauce if you get the bulk). If there's an option to have the wings with sauce on the side only, I HIGHLY recommend doing that. We asked for the super hot and death sauces on the side but our wings were already too sauced to do anything about the salt level. The fries ironically had no salt, so if only they were balanced out, the meal would've been much more enjoyable. The sandwich was skippable but if you do get it definitely add the peppers and onions. The death sauce actually was very spicy so not for the faint of heart! read more
So I had to make a comparison between duffs and anchor bar. We heard a lot of hype for both of them. Had chicken wings and many different places but the one thing that would separate them both would be if the chicken is frozen. The way to check this is a look at the bone after you've eaten the meat if the bone is white then the chicken has never been frozen. If the bone has any black to it then the chicken has been frozen. Though the meat fell off the bone, it appears they were frozen at some point. The service was great! She checked up on us making sure we were happy. read more
You can't come to Buffalo and not try Duffs! Better yet, coming to the OG location. Duffs is a true staple of Buffalo and their wings are absolutely worth the hype! If you're coming here, you're coming to get wings. They're so good! Their flavors are fantastic. They get hot quick, but they warn you. The Medium is the perfect blend of flavor and heat, in my opinion. Great blue cheese, too! The OG location is cool! It gets very busy so be prepared to wait, especially with a bigger party. It's not a very large seating area. They do have a bar and a good selection of draft beers as well. Overall, Duffs should be a must try, if you haven't already! read more

Finally had Buffalo Wings in Buffalo, NY and I was not disappointed! It was so delicious I had it twice in two different places. Duff's wings were crispy, the flavors balanced so well, flavorful but a bit too saucy for me and sour, medium or medium hot were not too spicy at all; however it was better than any wings I had in the DMV areas. The local beers went perfectly with wings. read more
Medium 'Light' Wings and Lemon Pepper. Medium light were still a tad spicy for someone who enjoys 'some' spice so proceed with caution! My husband, who really loves spice enjoyed the heat but felt like the flavor was a bit lacking. The Lemon Pepper were delicious and PACKED with flavor. Far surpasses bdubs but probably not my favorite wings of all time. read more

Duff's means a lot to me. As a born and raised Buffalonian, this for me, was always the apex of chicken wings. I remember when Sheridan Drive was the only location, and we would skip school and go for wings. When I was back in the area for the holidays this year, we stopped in for some wings and I didn't actually feel like I was "home" (for me, home is Chicago now) until I went to town on these wings. Quality has NEVER diminished, service is always excellent, and even though it was a Friday we only had to wait for like 25 mins for the table. We ordered 25 BBQ and 25 Medium, with Loganberry drinks on the side. A truly Buffalo meal. read more

What a disappointment. In Buffalo for business and figured I had to do Buffalo wings. It was between the original Duffs and The Anchor. Duffs was closer. Ambiance is great, wait for wings a little long on a Monday night. Unfortunately they were small, overcooked and dry! I got the 10 piece, 1/2 medium hot, 1/2 lemon pepper. The lemon pepper were extremely dry and overcooked, the Buffalo was a little better, probably because it was sauced. I've had better wings at regular restaurants as an appetizer. First time here. Our server was as kind as could be. Didn't get pics of everything but our crew ate a truck load of wings! Came to do damage and I personally could only eat 6 wings, they were big! The onion rings were perfection, delish fries, and super blue cheese dressing! We had medium hot, garlic parm, bbq, and maybe Cajun or jerk ? Can't recall the last one. Bbq was bomb! The medium hot was yummy but the heat rating was definitely decided on by white people Medium hot was delicious, but not hot. I'd def go a step or 2 higher if you like spicy food. I'd say medium was like your average buffalo heat level at most places. Wings are crispy, beer is cold, and the people are friendly. Very good decision! read more

Came here due to recommendations online. We wanted to try authentic Buffalo wings on our most recent trip to Buffalo. We ordered the mild, sweet Cajun, and bbq wings. All of them were good, but not great. My major concern was the service was underwhelming. The place was crowded on a Saturday at 5 pm. There were at least 20 people crammed in the waiting area. My order was cold because of the servers inability to get the order to me on time when I picked it up. The ambiance was loud. Overall, would not come back here. read more

What a great way to try Buffalo wings in Buffalo! There were plenty of choices for types of wings, and the service was very friendly. We did have to wait a bit in an overcrowded entryway, but we were there at prime time on a Friday night. read more

We stopped in as a e passed through the area. We were told this was the origin of the chicken wing. It was 2:30 in the afternoon and this place was busy!! The service was quick and the staff was friendly. The wings were cooked perfectly. The sweet Cajun had amazing flavor. read more

Their wings are the BOMB!!! Way better than Anchor Bar. Wish we could've gone here first and ordered more wings. The wings were perfectly cooked. Crunchy and very flavorful. Will definitely go back if we are in the area read more
