Great service and a lot of room from the outside patio to the inside. Where there is a good amount of TVs showing either news about sports or a sport game. They also have a good happy hour from 4 to 7.. a decent crowd as well. I loveeee Wednesday when it's wing day.. you can't go wrong with 6 wings for 5 dollars. And you can do multiples of that with a huge variety of flavors. From extremely hot to sweet and calm. Great bartenders and staff through out the establishment.

There are places in Washington that try to manufacture history--and then there are places like the…read moreHawk 'n Dove, which have no need to. A fixture on Capitol Hill since 1967, the Hawk 'n Dove remains one of those rare establishments where the past feels earned rather than curated. Set along Pennsylvania Avenue SE, just steps from the machinery of government, Hawk 'n Dove has long served as an informal extension of Capitol Hill itself--a place where conversations carry as much weight as the food, and where the room has likely heard more than its share of unguarded moments. The space today strikes a careful balance. It has been modernized, as so many legacy establishments must be, but it retains enough of its character to avoid feeling sanitized. It is comfortable without being forgettable, functional without losing its sense of place. We arrived as part of a group between meetings, and the restaurant proved well-suited to the rhythm of the day. Service was prompt, knowledgeable, and refreshingly unpretentious--efficient without feeling transactional. The meal opened with a garden salad dressed in balsamic vinaigrette. It was fresh, crisp, and well-composed, though notably generous in portion--arguably more suited for sharing than as a standard starter. The crab cake sandwich followed, served on a lightly toasted roll with lettuce and tomato alongside a portion of French fries. The crab cake itself was properly executed--golden brown on the outside, tender within, and not overworked. It is a dish that relies on restraint, and here, restraint worked in its favor. Across the table, the consensus was consistent: solid, reliable food that delivers without unnecessary embellishment. Perhaps most importantly for a Capitol Hill lunch, the timing was exact. We were neither rushed nor delayed--an often overlooked but critical detail in a neighborhood where schedules tend to dictate everything. Hawk 'n Dove does not attempt to reinvent dining in Washington, nor should it. Its strength lies in continuity--in offering a dependable experience in a city that rarely stands still. For those looking to step briefly into a piece of Capitol Hill's living history, it remains a worthwhile stop.

Served was nice , food was hot but that's about it. BTW: Catch an uber or walk there's no parking around this place really at all.

First time stopping here! What a fun, local bar!…read more It was St Patrick's Day and I wanted a Reuben. Tune Inn was named a couple times, so I checked it out! Ordered through the Toast app. Easy to order and customize with type of bread and wither corned beef or turkey. Comes wit fries but I upgraded to onion rings for a $1 more. When I got there, it was hopping! What a fun, celebratory vibe for St Patrick's Day! Fun energy, green cups, and happy people! It's a smaller space, with the bar upfront and seating in the back half. I was helped quickly from one of the bartenders. She went to check on my order and while she was gone I had two other employees ask if I needed help - super friendly and willing to help! I happened to meet the owner, Lisa, who was awesome and introduced me to some of her team. It gave such a fun family feel with everyone there and how I wish I could have stayed for a beer! Next time for sure! The Reuben lived up to what I hoped it would be - balance of sauerkraut, corned beef, Swiss cheese, thousand island, and rye bread. Overall pretty lean meat, which is a huge plus for me. The onion rings - yum! Crispy but still thick onions for a good bite and a nice saltiness to bring out the flavor. There were 6 large onion rings. I'd absolutely order this again in the future! Excited to return there with friends in the future!

The vibe is incredibly cozy, with lots of paintings and decorations that made me feel like I was in someone's (very large) living room. The staff was extremely friendly (in that east coast way) and I would go back for the service alone. Great place to grab a Guiness! Food is great too for the cost.

Had a delicious brunch to fuel myself for a big day over the weekend! We didn't have a reservation…read morebut came on the earlier side and were able to get a table for two. Brunch cocktail prices were very reasonable, but the real star of the show was the food. The crab dip was SOOOO GOOD. It had plenty of crab in it, and it paired very well with the house made tater tots. The breakfast burrito was similarly amazing, I loved the layer of spinach in it and it was overall a very hearty meal.

Short story: inconsistent food, arrogant staff and poor hygiene makes me question the 4.6 rating…read more What started as a promising visit to a restaurant with a very nice looking bar quickly spiraled into one of the most disappointing meals I've had in DC or anywhere else. While the pimento tot appetizer was tasty (though smaller than pictured online) and the beer list was decent, the experience went downhill from there. My burger was overpowered by a cloying onion jam and the fries were overly salty. The real star of this horror meal, though, was my son's "Nashville" hot chicken. It was caked in a black, soggy layer of spice--completely different from the plates at other tables. When we told our server, he literally laughed and told us that's "how the chef learned to do it in Nashville" instead of offering a solution. To top it off, we waited nearly 15 minutes just to pay in a half-empty restaurant, and my son spotted a mouse scurrying across the restroom floor. Between the hygiene issues, the arrogant service, and the inedible main course, there are far better options in DC. I'd even opt for going hungry over eating here again. Avoid this place like the plague or you might end up with it.
