Service and food were excellent. They were short staffed but you'd never have known. We started with the Eastern Shore Elote dip with homemade chips. Spicy, sweet, salty, and so fresh! I ordered the tots with crab dip and my husband had a burger. The tots are homemade and so crunchy. The crab dip was amazing. The burger was cooked perfectly and the fries were delicious. Really pleased this popped up on Yelp and we checked it out.

Present Company Public House is a rustic neighborhood pub located in a historic DC firehouse, which is the city's oldest firehouse. Located on Massachusetts Avenue in the Mount Vernon Triangle, it offers "pub-fusion" food, creative cocktails, and an extensive drink selection, along with friendly and attentive service. Brick walls, green lantern hats, and potted plants create a cozy yet lively atmosphere. The pub also features a popular happy hour, trivia nights, and weekend bottomless brunch. It is a dog-friendly establishment. We opted for weekend brunch (Saturday & Sunday, 11am to 3pm) with unlimited mimosas, and the food was tasty and comforting.

Cute bar with a nice menu! I ordered an old fashioned which the waitress said was the bartenders speciality and really enjoyed! Also decided to try the happy hour turkey sliders and a side of Brussels sprouts which were both really tasty. Really friendly and quick service. Also, as a cute addition, in the bathroom they hang pictures of people's dogs who send them in.

Love this place great staff, great music and great food. Highly recommend for the vibes, the drinks and the amazing service

Was searching for a place for a late lunch that had outdoor seating and stumbled upon this place. Service was amazing as well as the food. The server was very personable and even took the time to give us a run down of the menu. We were traveling from out of town and they even gave us some fun places to check out. The brisket tots and smoked salmon dishes were amazing and a must try! Highly recommend! The patio is spacious and is very dog friendly!

I came here with a few friends for dinner. I was pretty excited but it ended up kind of disappointing. The old fashion was ok nothing no to write home about. The pretzel looked promising but was kind of like stale pretzel reheated. The Cuban was decent but again nothing to write home about. Overall everything was pretty average. The service was decent and the place looked clean. Everything shown here was about $55 after tax and tips. Maybe I just got the wrong things, but I probably won't go back.

We went on a late Saturday night after walking all around the city. They have a great patio. Was very inviting and comfortable. Also dog friendly which we love. The food was really impressive. Went for a juicy burger. Another at the table had some amazing pasta. The waitress was really personable.

The drinks are a good price and they stock classic British pub favourites from Magners Apple on tap to a large variety of Irish whiskey. The food is very reminiscent of british pub food. The fish a chips are good considering they don't have the typical British chippy oil. We also had the batter sausages. Of course nothing will compare to English chippy battered sausages in size and taste but these one were still good and reminded me of home! The servers were wonderful and kind! The atmosphere was very similar to a typical British pub. My husband and I really enjoyed ourselves! If you're a long way from home, this place will make you feel like you're back at your local pub!

Runners just do that. Run around the restaurant throwing food down on tables and run back to the kitchen. Never checking on anyone to see if they need anything and how the food is. I ordered the SW Salad ($16.50) with a steak add on ($9.00) at medium temp. I also ordered a cup of Clam Chowder ($5.95) as an appetizer. Chowder came out pretty much right on top of my salad, but no big deal. Chowder was decent taste, but only found one clam. Ok whatever. Salad came out looking like a side salad on a large plate with five slices of rare, tough steak. It was so rare, that it was extremely hard to cut through, but again, who was I going to talk to about it. No wait staff would even look my way. I couldn't even get a refill on my water and there is no place in the app to order a glass of water...so that's that. Unfortunately it was just an extremely bad experience for $40. I'll be looking for dinner somewhere else tomorrow night.

I visited as part of the full experience -- dinner downstairs at Birch & Barley, then up to Churchkey for drinks -- and honestly, it's one of the best evenings I've had in DC. Churchkey itself is everything a great bar should be. The beer selection is absolutely unreal -- hundreds of carefully curated labels spanning every style, region, and flavor profile you can imagine. What sets it apart is that the staff actually knows the menu. Our server walked us through a few options based on what we liked and landed us on perfect picks both times. That kind of genuine expertise is rare. The tavern pizzas from the wood-fired oven were a wonderful surprise -- thin, crispy, and the perfect companion to a cold draft. The smash burger also deserves a mention: simple, well-executed, and hits the spot. The vibe is warm and lively without being overwhelming. Great for a date, a group, or even just sitting at the bar solo with a good beer and good conversation with the bartender. This place has earned its reputation as one of the best beer bars on the East Coast -- and then some. Highly recommend making a full night of it with both floors. You won't regret it.
