Inside the old Brookland's Finest building is an Irish pub. (Don't worry- they kept the D.C. flag art inside.) With three co-owners with one being Irish, here's my experience popping in. 1) Drinks: The menu is expansive and organized well around flavor profile. They have Guinness of course, but many other options, including two different hard ciders on tap. If you like a cider in between dry and sweet, order Magner's. It's refreshing every time. To make it even mor refreshing, ask for a cup with ice only to pour it into. 2) Food: The chef and her team makes all the food from scratch and it's noteworthy. A nod to Ireland, many dishes come with a green sauce like the Vegetarian Croquettes and the Monkfish. (I love a good leek crema.) The fish was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. 3) Service: The team is clearly passionate and treat you like family. 4) Space: It's decorated well with photos of the owners' families. There's an outdoor patio with tables, a long bar inside, and plenty of booths and standing tables. 5) Area: Located in Brookland, it's a true neighborhood. There's street parking out front and down side streets.

Same layout as how it use to be as Brooklands finest but they have less tables and more booths! Service is good but a bit slow as they can forget you...food is good.

Great neighborhood Irish pub! The fish and chips were great. Amazing chips--cod always has its limits, but the batter was good. The ox pie was delicious-Great pastry and very flavorful ox. Fun place to grab a beer and some food! Later in the afternoon and in the evening, it gets packed, so get there early.

Went on opening weekend and I must say it did not disappoint. The ambiance was great. Sat outdoors with our dog and was able to enjoy some Guinness. While we weren't able to try to the food cause the kitchen was closed the service really made up for that. The staff was super friendly and really took care of you. Looking forward to going back and trying their food

So good! Great service and drinks + food. Love this neighborhood bar. Fun ambiance and lots of tvs to watch sports

Roast carrots, roasted cabbage, and wild ox pie. We got the carrots on both visits, so good

Awesome find on our trip to DC. Locals better keep this place going. Menu is small but when you do everything really well you don't have to go crazy. Food is so good. We went twice in a week. Servers were fast and friendly. Food came out quickly. Fun sports bar with plenty of tvs but also clean and inviting for families. Street parking is the only pain, welcome to DC. Definitely be repeat customers when we visit.

Several items on menu were "out of stock." Uneven service, hopefully will improve with time. Need reliable options in the neighborhood.

The drinks are a good price and they stock classic British pub favourites from Magners Apple on tap to a large variety of Irish whiskey. The food is very reminiscent of british pub food. The fish a chips are good considering they don't have the typical British chippy oil. We also had the batter sausages. Of course nothing will compare to English chippy battered sausages in size and taste but these one were still good and reminded me of home! The servers were wonderful and kind! The atmosphere was very similar to a typical British pub. My husband and I really enjoyed ourselves! If you're a long way from home, this place will make you feel like you're back at your local pub!

I also got a mushroom lasagna and it didn't feel hot enough/ didn't taste amazing after the first few bites. But hoping it's a one off and would like to try some other things. We weren't the biggest fan of the chicken sandwich (I think it was called the chicken royale?) we got either- it just didn't work with the combination inside the sandwich. Seemed like there was only 1 person running the whole downstairs (and maybe training someone else) but he was a burst of sunshine keeping it together. Because of the 2 dishes not really hitting the mark but fish and chips are great id give it between 3 & 4 stars! Will come back for the fish & chips and try something else as the atmosphere was lovely and service was nice. Also looks like they have nice deals for every day of the week at the upstairs portion.

The only odd thing was that our server seemed to change halfway through our meal without anyone mentioning it. The fried green tomatoes (not pictured) were excellent and definitely worth ordering if they're on the menu. I had the shepherd's pie--it had great flavor but was unfortunately very salty, making it hard to finish. Overall, good food, great atmosphere, and a spot I'd recommend if you're in the area before a show.

In addition to the great selection of libation, the food to pair the beer is just as great. I ordered the Reuben and my buddy ordered the fish & chips. Large portions and great tasting, especially with a tall pint of Guiness. During our meal, we were serenaded by a traditional live Irish group playing music - a nice touch! Great décor, vibe, drinks, and food - about the only downside is parking. Located in the middle of Fairfax City, street parking may be available, public parking lots are available - it's worth the small inconvenience of looking for parking.

The wall shows some of the drinks on the menu and the ingredients/glass it comes in which I thought was a nice touch. Bartenders were friendly but not too chatty as they were super busy but you never waited long for a drink. The bourbon drink with the whipped honey was our favorite but the gin drink that was pink was also fantastic. For food I did try the buffalo chicken dip, pretty large and tasty (not too spicy) and loved the super crisp celery and the fritos. My one complaint is the wine glasses were so teeny. Overall though, I would recommend this bar. Bonus: cheese balls when you sit down!
