Duffy's was the only place that was recommended to us before coming and it's turned out to be one of the best places we've eaten so far. Right in the parking lot of a plaza in Red Hook, the atmosphere is lively and casual. Servers greeted us from the bumper of a car parked on the other side of the lot. Drinks are super cheap! However, the crowd is a little questionable (young, spring breakers). What I found particularly cool was they have a giant list of specialty drinks that come in all kinds of fun different cups. I got a cute ceramic parrot -- and it really wasn't expensive at all. If you can ignore that stuff, and are looking for cheap drinks and a fun atmosphere, this is the place for you. read more

Some of the best times I've ever had. This is a true island bar. Great, fun and original cocktails and surprisingly good bar food. It is literally a shack in the middle of a parking lot though so it can get quite packed. If you try to escape for some space and fresh air you run the risk of being run over by a car. read more

Let me start by saying, I believe I showed up on the wrong day!!! There was absolutely nothing going on. They were out of a lot of things on the menu, and were not even accommodating when I asked to get half chicken and half fish on my tacos. Ending up not even eating them because they came with sour cream, which is not mentioned on the menu, and I don't like sour cream. If ever in St. Thomas again, I don't think I would go back!!!!! We really enjoyed the atmosphere, music and fun food. I didn't feel the music was too loud but we were sitting in the parking lot not in the bar area. Ordered guacamole and chips, the portion was huge. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. The teriyaki chicken sandwich was really good. Enjoyed the slaw and plantains. Loved it! Best parking lot bar and grill I've ever been to. ;) We were there early to eat, not to stay late and party. The service was great and the food was fresh and tasty. The prices were reasonable to other businesses in the area/on the island. It wasn't loud, and we were there around 7 PM. We did sit at the table in the parking lot, though. :) read more

well, i really dug my teriyaki-glazed mahi-mahi with macademia nuts. the strange playing of Also Sprach Zarathustra (2001 space odyssey) with smoke billowing out the ceiling every hour was kinda weird, especially for what is kind of an outdoor tiki bar/restaurant though ... they should stick with Jimmy Buffet's volcano. Nice little place to have a drink, usually with live music. The entire week we were there it was never really busy, stopped in twice for a drink then left for other places. Drinks we had were good, staff was friendly enough. No real complaint but for us nothing special. read more

My family went here for lunch while on vacation for my 18th birthday, and it was excellent! The volcano drink was made to be a big deal - it was accompanied by music and bubbles throughout the shack. Duffy's is located in Red Hook, on the East End of St. Thomas. They've got signs up stating that is is the best parking lot bar around, which is probably true. We stopped in for an afternoon snack and drinks. The nachos were decent (nothing to go crazy for) and the beer was cheap (coming from NYC, $1.50 beers are much appreciated). My wife came away from the bar with a new monkey souvenir after ordering an expensive fruity beverage. Our waitress, Heather, was chatty and had several great recommendations for local food choices. read more

We did not eat here- we stopped by for a drink at 10pm on a Wednesday (we were told to go on Wed b/c it's ladies night). I think we would recommend that course of action... since it is better a bar than a restaurant. It's great fun for a random party in a parking lot. The locals (20-something kids) were very fun and it is an experience worth having. I think it is more a novelty that you do once as a tourist. We probably won't be back- but it is a memory we are glad we have. Don't expect anything fancy or excellent drinks... go with a party in mind, take a picture and talk to the locals- you'll have fun! read more

Located in the Red Hook area of St. Thomas it is a nice stop for a drink. It is one of the typical open area bars on the island the original interest in my first stop was the history of the bar. Drinks are good and the scenery is better. Nice stop for a quick drink. read more

Loved this place! Had a shark tank and something else in a parrot cup... The shark tank was gooooooood! 64 oz is a lot between two people though... so I recommend if you are a lightweight to steer clear. Fun bar though, pretty good food. I will go back next time we are at St Thomas. read more

Yes, it's really a shack. Fun place to dance, but random location in the middle of a parking lot. Interesting mix of locals and tourists. It was a full moon/space theme when we were there, so they were handing out all sorts of toys, headbands with springy moons on them, plastic spaceships in our drinks...pretty funny! Atmosphere is great. Haven't had a chance to eat there but the drinks are always great! They offer many drink glasses that you can take home with you. Brandy was our bartender while there. Got to know him well over a couple visits to the bar. He was great. Worked his butt off and didn't know what island time was. Definitely a must stop while in the VI's! read more

This place is so much fun! It's the coolest bar and it sits in a parking lot! I had to do some shopping so my hubby found his way to the bar. They serve fun drinks in awesome bowls and glasses. They even play space odyssey when you order their special burning volcano drink. The staff is helpful and keep the place lively. We have been there a few times and will return. This is one place you have to stop in for a good time at night time in St. Thomas! They have ladies night on Wednesdays and different fun specials each night of the week. The whole trip we spent almost every night at Duffy's! It's so much fun especially if you order a shark tank! 10/10 recommend. Duffy's is fun....for a bar in the middle of a parking lot...and full of happy young people (we were happy but not young). Food was okay....and we were not sure if we should have been indignant or amused: husband wanted the conch, but as a sandwich alone, not with all the trimmings as a full dinner. After much consulting, the waitress agreed to serve it, but said the bread (standard white) would be a dollar more. There is a wine bar right across the parking lot with shrimp and goat cheese that was wonderful, so I think I've outgrown the hype of Duffy's and will go there instead. But hey, if you are wanting drinks and joy go for it. read more

After a poor experience at a neighboring restaurant, i tried Duffy's and was pleasantly surprised. It was our servers first day and he offered excellent service accommodating our large group. Some drinks didn't taste so strong which we were assured were masked (not sure if i believe that). But the food was great! It was also ladies night so well drinks after 9pm were free. read more
