This place is awesome. Good food is hard to come by in St Thomas. You are better off staying in St John ( a short ferry ride away). But if you are in St Thomas I highly recommend you eat at Duffy's in Red Hook, near the ferry station. The food is fresh and outstanding. Get the da lime and da coconut drink-- its SICK, its soo good. This is a highly casual place literally in a parking lot but soooo good. read more

I agree with most of the other reviews. You will feel like a tourist, and it is in a parking lot, but that adds to the charm. Food was ok, but my review is really for the service. Don, the manager was fantastic in helping our group (more than 30 people) have a truly enjoyable night. You really can't take yourself too seriously there; you just have to have fun. They play a great variety of music and the drink menu is fun. Our server, Christina, was so accommodating even with our craziest request. I guess working at a restaurant/bar in a parking lot gives the staff a great 'roll with it' attitude. Don and Christina, thanks for a fun evening. Four of us stopped in around 5:30 for drinks and apps after a full day on St. John. Maybe it was the time of day, but for us, it was pretty lame. Drinks were served in standard plastic cups, and the fish tacos were nasty...a lot of skin. We didn't even eat them. Nachos were good though. Bathroom was filthy. If dirty at 6pm I hate to think what's like later. But, can see how it would be fun to dance and party late in the parking lot but that's the only time I'd recommend to go. Hands down the best restaurant we ate at all vacation. ALL members of my family agreed and my dad really liked Iggies, so that's saying something! Duffy's was listed on Trip Advisor and we actually drove past it on our way to the ferry for St. John, so was happy to make a quick turn around and come back for lunch. First off, I got the Shark Tank. PROBABLY not the best idea on my part because I apparently was the only one at the table nursing it, but hey. Youth. Our waitress was Tracy and seriously, can I recommend her for an award or something? Straight forward with you about EVERYTHING. She was hilarious! If I needed something, she was already there at our table handing it to us before I could even say it out loud. I have a coconut allergy and she worked around it to make me a customized shark tank. LOL and then the mechanical shark went off and the shark music and it was the greatest atmosphere EVER! Definitely an amazing dive! The table split the chicken bites with wasabi ranch dipping sauce. I don't like hot things, so I was a little worried, but it was plenty cool. In fact, I kinda wanted a little more kick to it and that's not normally my opinion. Maybe the shark tank expanded my palate! My brother and my dad each got a different burger and they were HUGE! My mom and I split the Polynesian Pu-Pu and OMG that eneded up feeding us for that lunch and for dinner later that night. It had everything on it and it was all delicious. Now, I must warn you, the rum soaked pineapple is STRONG. Holy crap was that strong....and I had an amazing buzz going and still thought it was strong. Take a match to it and it would burn for days! I could only do one small bite of it. So be warned! But seriously...GO HERE. Actually, call first and see if Tracy's working, THEN GO HERE! While on an Incentive Trip, myself and 4 other teammates headed into Red Hook. We were told about Duffy's on the ride in. Of course when we saw the building and heard the music from the street, we knew we found the spot we needed to be in. We quickly ordered a shark tank (a blue colored liquor filled fish tank with rubber sharks that contained shots and enough straws for all of us) and got the party started. Tracy and Colin were the bartenders on duty that night and they were the absolute best! We had the most awesome time there. From the themed drinks that come in the souvenir glasses to the countless Applesauce shots-it was a blast! Some locals showed up and well, we have pics to remember the rest of the night. But they were super kind and made sure we all made it safely to our taxi. I hope to be able to get back there again someday. And if not, the memories will last me a lifetime! read more

Love Duffy's, servers are always friendly. Obviously it's island time so sometimes there can be a wait on food but it's like that everywhere. The drinks are great and love all the crazy glasses you get to keep. Definitely a place to get your drink on. Best parking lot bar ever! read more

Our absolute favorite family dining experience on St. Thomas! If you love a fun divey bar/restaurant with unique food and some of the best service possible- Duffy's is the place to go. Loved the ahi tuna salad, the wings, and the fish tacos. It was our son's 15th birthday and they were out of chocolate for the s'mores dessert so the chef literally left the restaurant and went down the street to get him Hershey bars. The food was okay and the drinks with the cute little ceramic cups where great! Best part of the whole night was being able to collect the cups, although one of the cups had a crack in it. My problem was the service. The server we had was awful, I don't know why she was in a horrible mood, but she definitely let it show. She didn't really talk besides orders, she got in fights with two people in our party, and rubbed everyone else the wrong way. She was very short and rude with us. And then she argue with me, because although we tipped, we apparently didn't tip enough. But to me, tipping is a statement. I'm not going to tip you 20% if you give short, rude service. Maybe something personal happened, but she took it out on the patrons. When I got up to use the restroom (still 3 people from our party there). I didn't realize that they boasted that they were the best parking lot bar around, but seeing that this is the only one I've been to I'll give them that. My wife and I stopped in here after the Island got blasted by a storm and we were the only ones there. Bartender was trying to dry things out and open windows, but wind was still substantial. We tried a couple of the house drinks and they were tasty and just a bit pricey, but not too much. Lunch was also tasty and we both enjoyed our visit and would recommend Duffy's to anyone looking for a parking lot bar. When we were leaving the place had filled up somewhat and the bartender thanked us for bringing in good karma and the business. It really is a shack, located in a shopping center parking lot. You may not think twice if you walk by, but they have an interesting drink menu, play great classic rock, and have the best guacamole i have had, hands down. I loved going to this place at night! I got 4 drinks while here, which all turned out amazing. They aren't ridiculously overpriced and the cups we got were really cool. I also got the cheese sticks, which were really delicious and definitely something that I would recommend. My only complaint is that you MUST give them your credit card if you get the famous volcano and you cannot get it back until you give the bowl back. I never start tabs, and I pay for my drinks one at a time, so it was kinda annoying having to start a tab to just close it right away! This place was referred by a taxi while visiting St. Thomas. The service was horrible and drinks were just as bad. The waitress was so high it was almost funny once one could get past her smell of skunk (marijuana). She Forgot lime in gin and tonics, and also had no clue what gin they had for well-drinks during happy hour. I tried one and didn't finish it. Luckily, I switched to beer at this point because she made no attempt to fix anything else. She brought us two sets of silverware (even when we were already half way through our meal with said silverware). She brought a rare hamburger that was ordered well done. Drinks were very slow. We couldn't order more than one round of 4 drinks in 40 minutes of happy hour. She came back 1 minute after happy hour ended and asked if we wanted another drink. Told us she couldn't do happy hour prices because it was past. I saw two other tables leave without ordering, probably due to slow service. Bathroom was beyond small. Think of the smallest RV bathroom you've ever seen and think smaller. Parking lot ambiance with honking and fumes from passing cars. Although the parking lot did have a security guard... there was a pizza place across the street (upstairs) we tried next night and really liked fwiw. read more
