So I really liked this place. I stopped in on my way home on a Saturday night. Street parking or the lot a couple blocks away. I selected this place for two reasons. I wanted a couple good brews and some deep fried mushrooms. The shrooms were pretty big and tasty . I asked for both ranch and a buffalo sauce. They don't have buffalo sauce here but did have a fairly tasty hot sauce that did the trick. Not the best, but definitely not bad! I wanted a brown ale to go with my shrooms and tried a couple samples. At the advice of the bartender, I settled on a Lazy Magnolia. It was a good ale, but didn't quite do it for me. I ended up grabbing a Newcastle on the next round Everyone I chatted with here were great. In my book, there's nothing better than mixing up a great conversation with a stranger at the bar over a few drinks. I was craving a good burger and wanted to try something new. I've been to Dugan's many times since they first opened, but had never tried the burger. It was pretty good and I'm glad of it because well.. burger, fries and a coke was $27 w/tip. But I guess that is on par with other restaurants 'these days', it's crazy. The hand cut fries were pretty good but a bit undercooked. The portion size is above average. I'm a small eater and this was 2 meals for me (gotta love that air fryer for leftovers!). The reason I've rated 4 and not 5 stairs is cleanliness. The windows were filthy (inside yes) and the malt vinegar on the table was so gross looking, it had greasy finger prints on it and no label. Some of the chairs and stools really need to be recovered. That torn vinyl is rough on clothes (snags them up) and even rougher on bare skin if you're wearing a skirt or shorts. Please put a little time and money into cleaning it up a bit. I get the typical 'pub vibe' but we can still do that with comfy seats and a clean atmosphere. read more

If that wasn't bad enough, the large round waitress was terrible. She never came back with the bill and was on her cell phone. They were not busy, so she wasn't in the weeds. We came here on Saturday at about 2pm for lunch since we were staying a hotel nearby and it was a close walk. The service was terrible! After standing at the front for a few minutes, not sure if it was seat yourself or not.. a lady finally walked by and said "sit wherever you want". After nearly 10 minutes of sitting "wherever we want", we finally were helped by a man who wasn't friendly, but not rude. Eventually the food came out, which was great. I have zero complaints about the food. I had a Ceasar salad, potato soup and i tried some of the cracker and meat board which was good. My little one had some leftovers and wanted to take them back to the hotel, so I asked for a to go box (simple enough.. right?). The restaurant was not busy what so ever, but he never brought the box out. We ended up just leaving without it because I wasn't waiting more than 10 minutes for a to go box for my daughters mac and cheese. Later that night, my parents went back there for dinner. The service was much better in the evening and food was still great. I was brought back an order of fried jalapenos and one of the mozzarella sticks. Both were great, and I'd definitely recommend those. My parents had zero complaints. 5 stars for the food.. for sure! However, here's where the 2 stars come from (and they're lucky to get that to be honest). My moms card was charged NUMEROUS times all for different amounts, $70 and some change, $25, $30, etc. None of them being the total of her bill and a tip or anything like that. So while they had her debit card to run it for the check.. they were running it for other peoples checks while they were at it... The shadiness is unreal, so while yes.. the food is good.. pay CASH or don't come at all because they'll drain your account while they're at it. read more

So... The hubs and I sauntered into Dugan's on a whim! We'd randomly decided on a March Madness crawl in downtown Little Rock and Dugan's happened to be the first spot on our path to President Clinton Avenue after we parked. It was a beautiful day and their patio was packed, so we looked at each other, shrugged, and decided to stop in! It's so cute, so authentically pubby, and definitely gave us ample St. Patty's Day feels! We were immediately greeted by Jenn who (from that point on) became our personal Dugan's tour guide! She is awesome, very knowledgeable on drinks and LR happenings, makes a killer rum punch, and had us feeling like we were in an episode of "Cheers!" Whilst "making ourselves at home" and gabbing with Jenn, we munched on cheese dip and chips that were pretty great! Okay, I'm a sucker for an Irish Pub. My first visit, many, many visits ago, made a heck of an impression on me. This place took me back to my college days and Oktoberfest when I was a great bit younger. Back when beer was served in pitchers just for fun. Everything on the menu that I've had is delicious. Especially the pork chops! If you come for food come hungry as they're very generous, especially the chops. As far as drinks, it's an Irish Pub, so get outta here with that silly notion that Dugan's would be any less than wonderfully Pub-ish! Staff? Ha! They're all fantastic and perfectly fit the Irish Pub vibe I've grown to love. Polite and accommodating, but don't take no $hit. The final piece to an Irish Pub trifecta. My husband and I were traveling through Little Rock and happened upon Dugan's Pub. So many good things to say about this gem of a pub. The food was amazing and there was a LOT of it. I got a club and my husband got a BLT. The fries are hand cut daily, so good. Hubby had a perfectly poured Guinness. I had a strawberry moonshine mule and a watermelon moonshine mule, really refreshing. The atmosphere was like walking into an old authentic Irish pub. The bartender was helpful and had a great suggestion in a watermelon moonshine mule. The owner stopped and talked with us for a bit, good guy. Since I am a frequent user of Yelp, both in my own city and when traveling, I decided to make a better effort in posting reviews this year. We spent the night in Little Rock and saw the comments on this pub were decent... so we were very happy to find our experience exceeded expectations. Dugan's has all the right ingredients for an Irish pub. Cozy atmosphere, check. A fireplace in middle of the bar, comfortable leather seats, nice decor, a large bar to sit at. The tap and bottled beer are served very cold. The food looked great and tasted great! I had a club sandwich and there was plenty of quality meat, two types of cheese and an excellent sourdough bread. My husband had the fish and chips, the fish had a light and crispy batter, with generous portions of actual fish in relation to the batter. We requested crispy fries and they came out exactly as asked. The serving staff was both efficient and friendly, brought everything quickly and accommodated little requests with ease. Also, since this is a COVID time visit, the tables were socially distant and both staff and patrons all respected wearing masks when walking around. We had other options but figured you can never go wrong at an Irish Pub. We were correct. I got the Chicken Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes. It was great. This place was an easy walk from our nearby hotel. We seated ourselves at one of the few free tables and immediately met our server, who took good care of us. I ordered a hot apple cider with cinnamon schnapps, quite nice on a 12-degree night, while my husband had a stout. I splurged on the salmon with rice and Brussels sprouts. I had read a Yelp review that mentioned the sprouts were good, and wow, they were! The rice was just plain rice, but it worked well with the fish and the dill sauce. My husband had the beef stew, and the spoonful I sampled was good, though salty. I sampled his soda bread and found it incredibly moist and delicious. Our son had the kid meal macaroni and cheese, which was quite a heap of pasta! There was no way he could eat it all; if we hadn't been in a hotel, I would have happily taken the leftovers home. read more

Overall good experience. Portions are good size, I got corned beef hash- very greasy and the corned beef was over cooked on some pieces- the beef stew was water and lacked flavor. I was here several years ago and it is what brought me back as I was in the area. Based off of today's experience- not sure I will return. The staff was welcoming and the restaurant was clean. Food was below par this trip. Wife got the fish and chips- chips were not cooked all the way and this was disappointing- she asked for crispy and they were 2 steps below- did not send back as we needed to continue on our trip, fish- decent but not great. Came here on Sunday afternoon. Place was busy and hoped we will have a good time. However that was the only good experience at the place. Waited for about 30 mins till we even saw our server. Me and my wife were watching each other's faces on hunger till then. We even had our young one with us who didn't get her meal from then kids menu. After that assurance we waited another 40 mins till we saw our order. Everyone near us who came much after got their orders and till that time our server didn't even come to check on us. She once passed by and mentioned our order was on its way but clearly she was just pacifying us we didn't get our food for much much longer. Environment: The establishment is medium to large. It seems like the bar and kitchen takes up most of the dinning space. The restaurant has a stoned wall fireplace that's in the middle of the restaurant (but you can walk on either side). Slightly dark in some areas but you can choose to sit by a window. In the back of the restaurant you can play darts. Service: Upon entering, I was greeted by a nice bartender. So imagine my surprise when our waitress wasn't so friendly and extremely curt. However EVENTUALLY she warmed up and redeemed herself. Food was pretty good. I sampled the mozzarella sticks. They were huge, fried just right, and I loved that the breading had a hint of sweetness. A long standing, or at least as long as I have been traveling through Little Rock, pseudo Irish pub and sports bar. A wood bar with big cushy stools to sit in. An area for darts and an outdoor area as well. Plenty of TV's. This place can be completely packed with "Irish" themes or just packed for a sporting event. As such the service is very business like and proficient. If not the most personable, which is not a bad thing. Plenty of beer taps, but only a handful of quality beers. There are some from Arkansas and Little Rock, but that is only a few taps. The rest is macros and all the nitro beers you would expect for an Irish Pub in the states. Plenty of Irish Whiskey however. Food is pub grub, and nothing particularly special on that front. Lots of sandwiches and burgers, and fried stuff. Not bad at all but just A-OK. Overall, a good pub to stop into for a drink or two while hopping around the now very interesting downtown area of Little Rock. read more

Since I wasn't all that hungry I opted for the appetizer sampler which consisted of fried mozzarella cheese sticks, fried mushrooms and chicken strips. Mozzarella sticks were above normal tasting, mushrooms were as normal as any other I've had as was the chicken strips. Tea was good and the atmosphere was very good. read more
