    Dugan's Sampler (fried mozzarella/fried pickles/fried mushrooms)

Came here while walking around the downtown area. And so glad that we did. Our server Ronan was hands down the best we've had. Very knowledgeable of the food & beverage options & we lacked for nothing while here. The atmosphere is casual, comfortable and inviting. At no point did we feel rushed while we were here. The food and drinks were amazing. We will most certainly put this on our must do list if we are ever in the area again.

Great place to pop in and grab some beers and grub! Server was friendly and gave us some suggestions for sights. Band was coming in at 9, but didn't stick around. I am sure that would have been fun though!

    Steak salad- very good!

Steak salad was awesome! Loved the salty cheese and homemade blue cheese dressing with a medium cooked steak slices. I highly recommend this. Cup of potato soup was creamy but imo needed a little more salt. Service was friendly and attentive. Iced tea was a little weak and needed more sugar imo. Overall, I would return.

Meatloaf lunch special with double mac (we subbed out the corn on the cob)

Checked out our fave Irish pub for their Wednesday lunch special (meatloaf) and were not disappointed! Typically comes with macaroni and cheese, cob corn, and green beans; we subbed the corn for a double helping of better than typical mac, and the beans were extremely well seasoned (pork present, not vegetarian). We added a cup of potato soup (soup of our people), fully dressed, which was creamy and delicious and had two chunks of bread for dipping. The meatloaf was well-textured, well-sauced, and piping hot. Swoon and drool! Paired with two pints of draft Guinness, whilst seated on the stage corner of the pub, we had excellent people viewing and a lovely waitress to complete the wonderful Wednesday outing. We will repeat!

This spot was recommended by a coworker who had been here before, and it was a great recommendation. I'm really not usually a fan of Irish pubs -- I don't generally like Irish beer. However, they had a local seasonal stout on top that was absolutely fantastic. A coworker asked our server to bring their favorite stout and while I can't remember what it was, it hit the spot completely. We all agreed it was fantastic. While we were driving to Dugan's, I started taking a look at their menu online. I haven't had a ton of fresh veggies on the trip, so I really just wanted something like a giant hearty salad... ask and you shall receive, apparently! Right on their digital menu (they have physical menus at the restaurant) was an amazing looking green salad with a generous helping of steak. Naturally, I ordered the steak salad. It didn't come with a set dressing, so I opted for balsamic. I wasn't particularly wild about their balsamic dressing, but it wasn't bad (just not my favorite). I still ate every last possible ounce of the salad. The steak was really juicy and well (as in good) cooked. Salads don't usually fill me up, but this certainly did. My travel mate also enjoyed their food -- one ordered the pork chops and the other the grilled salmon. Our server had great recommendations, was very attentive throughout, and was just overall enjoyable to talk to. I certainly recommend this place.

    Kid's chicken tenders

I usually love this place, thus the 4 stars. But I would warn against getting the kid's chicken tenders. It's a $3 up charge for adults. I was expecting the same tenders as the full meal, just fewer of them (which would be good for a lunch portion). I've had the chicken tenders before and was craving them today. Instead got 4 tiny bits of chicken and a side of fries. This was $13 after tax and before tip. One of the biggest disparities between price/ portion I've experienced in a long time.

Tried this place again for convenience. This time I wandered off the beaten path and took the waiter's recommendation; the shepards pie. The consistency was good and taste was fine. But half of it was room temperature and the other half was scalding hot. I'm not sure what cooking process produces that effect. I think this place is probably just best for drinking and the half hot shepards pie is best eaten while intoxicated.

$25 lunch for a burger and fries is insane. Food was good, but service is notoriously slooooiw.

It's a pub, so expect sticky floors. But despite that, it's a nice, friendly atmosphere. The fish and chips are excellent!

I ordered the dirty bird chicken wings, and a bacon cheeseburger with fries. We had the first food that came out. Wings were cold and did not have much sauce on them. Ordered more sauce cost me a dollar for a little cup. We asked about the wings and they said they are smoked now so I'm guessing they sit back there under a heat lamp. Probably the reason they were very dry and I had to order more sauce. I was hoping that when I dipped it in the ranch it would help but none of the ranch stuck on my wing. I've seen water that was thicker. Was looking forward to the old bacon cheeseburger, the Pump used to serve. This cheeseburger is nothing like the old one. The size of the patty is what you get at a little league baseball game. It was also overcook and dry and cold. Wondering if that was under a heat lamp also. They do not have Bud Light or Coors light! PBR's are five dollars! Pitcher of beer is $25! No beer buckets! Looks like a dive bar doesn't taste or drink like one!!!! So I spent $28 and tipped 20%. So I ended up spending just under $35. I can go to the Faded Rose or Brave New for that amount.

Because of the great experience I had at lunch, I decided to take my wife there on Thursday night for dinner. Let me be clear: Dinner was a hit! I will start with the Atmosphere. I will be honest, the atmosphere is nice enough. The place is clean for sure. It is not as comfortable a place as some and is reminiscent of many restaurants I have been to. By that I mean, it is almost formulaic in it's set up. Nothing about it is unique or screams Arkansas or Little Rock to me. That is OK, I just want to be clear about the ambiance of the place. I still would give it a four out of five stars on ambiance. That said, it only gets better from here! For starters, we shared the fried green tomatoes with shrimp appetizer, and it was superb! As good as any you will find in NOLA and definitely the best in Arkansas. I highly recommend. For our main courses, my wife had the bacon wrapped filet and I had the rib-eye. We had never tried Samantha's steaks before and I hate to think what all we have been missing because our steaks were cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. We shared a side of cheese grits and couldn't had a better meal! For our dessert, we shared a slice of their key lime pie, and again, it was wonderful. A strong five star rating for the food here at Samantha's for sure. As good as the food was, our server Taylor was about the best I have seen in Little Rock since the days of Ashley's at the Capitol hotel. Every dish we ordered that I just described was a recommendation from Taylor. I love it when someone knows their stuff and she was super knowledgeable, with just the right amount of tending to us. Not too much looking over our shoulder every two minutes, but always there when we needed her. Samantha's is lucky to have her on their team. Another strong five star rating regarding service. Can't wait to go back. I feel like they are hitting their stride at Samantha's!

I ordered a fried green tomatoes appetizer and Tom Yum grilled shrimp entree w/ a cucumber onion salad side. The app presentation was as expected garnished and dressed with roumalade. The finished quality was sub par. The tomatoes edges were good but the center was so thick it was crunchy, 4 slices $16. The entrées are solo yet there is an expectation of an elegant presentation. Nope...two undressed, ungarnished skewers of dry shrimp on a plate for $19. That's it, that's all. The best item of the meal was the marinated 2 ingredient "salad" which was... sweet & savory $12. Lastly, what ended up being a "concept" of key lime pie. Presentation glorious, a dinner sized plate decorated with swirls and a decent size helping of a sweet item. This was what looked like an inch of cake crumbs that were recycled by pressing into a form with a 1/4 inch thin layer of key lime custard over top. $9
