Used to love coming to this place to eat when I had family in town from St. Louis until the last time we went here. Blonde middle aged waitress was the rudest waitress I've ever seen in my entire life. She litterally walked up to our table with a horrific attitude. Was making rude remarks towards my dad for simply asking questions about coupons as well as other disrespectful stuff. We ended up eating at FireHouse Subs instead. Dugout was not crowded at all or close to closing time so she had zero reason to be so rude. My grandmother was at the table as well so she had to watch her son get disrespected by a lady with zero manners. Food is probably a 6/10 at best also. Just excellent food, great people, and reasonable prices. They smoke their own meats, including their wings (which are the best I've ever had.. ever.) The Turkey sandwich and burgers are standouts for me, but I have yet to try anything I didn't like. I think they use as much local meats and products as they can as well.. always a plus. It can take a while at times when they get moderately busy.. but I expect that when getting quality food, and don't mind drinking a beer or 2 while being patient. What a bummer. I went back again last night after receiving an apology from the manager through yelp. Food was great. Can't emphasize this enough. CHECK AND DOUBLE CHECK YOUR BILL! I WAS OVERCHARGED FOR BOTH OF OUR DINNER PLATES. Last time I was there I got pulled pork French fries with no pulled pork. I don't think anyone likes being taken advantage of and ripped off. I guess it's shame on me this time for going back and expecting to be treated honestly. Like I said, the food is good when you can actually get what you order. This is a new place close to the ballparks. I really like it and plan on going again.

Try the Caribbean salad, turkey avocado sandwich (they smoke their own turkey!) or the pulled pork nachos! Everything I've tried with the pork or turkey is great. Chips and onion straws are also good. I haven't tried a burger yet, but friends have told me it's one of Springfield's best. Their happy hour goes until 9 or 10 at night which is awesome. Wife and I went here for a date night. Everything was very good. The atmosphere is your typical hole in the wall bar. We first ordered a few drinks. My wife did not know what she wanted so the server brought her a sample of a beer they were promoting. My wife who is not an avid beer drinker loved the recommendation and ordered one. We then ordered the pull pork nachos as we saw the smoker out back as we entered. They were very good, with the right amounts of everything on them. We then both ordered different types of burgers, and they were juicy and very flavorful. Those along with the hand cut fries made for a great meal for both of us. Our server looked like the only server in the room, and seemed to be handling all of the tables. Which you would think would lead to a lack of service. But not in this case, She was on top of every drink/food order, or empty plate/glass. The food and drinks came with lightening speed, and she was very personable. She worked that room like a Pro. The Dugout is one of Springfield's best! The drinks are good and the food is even better. Some of our favorites include the fish tacos (add the house made chutney if you like spicy things), falafel salad with cucumber yogurt dressing, and the burger with onion rings (thinly sliced, more like onion strings but SO GOOD). The staff is friendly and always make us feel welcome. We often bring our kids during the slower hours (basically before 6... maybe 7pm) because they really enjoy the food, too! read more

Great little dive ish bar. Not sure I would call it a sports bar based on only 3 large TVs, but the bar part and the good was pretty good. I had the jerk chicken salad and it was great. Most places don't put a whole lot of effort into salad but this was an exception. Would like to have tried the Cuban sandwich.
