Tucked down away from the hustle and bustle of Springfield, down by the quarry and Galloway creek you will find where all the locals go when they want to step back in time. We went on a Wednesday night and this place was popping!! We got there right before having to start waiting for a table. The place is really cool inside with decor from a little bit of everything. There is stuff on the walls, there is really cool stonework and plenty of spots to sit to enjoy friends and family. The food is solid and freshly prepared. My chicken was hot/fresh, served with fries and was good. I got their Galloway Chicken Sandwich and I was thinking it was going to be a bit bigger, but it did the trick. Service was great too, even during a time when they were packed! They have a full bar and serve coke products. Regarding the wings we had on this day - a BIG miss. We had heard the owner had an association/relationship with the daughter of the original owner of "The Peanut" in KC. Supposedly, the wings here would be like The Peanut....which I consider those to be the best wings I've ever had. Well, these wings are nowhere close to The Peanut. Tastes like Franks Red Hot with butter. And the wings don't even have the sauce clinger s to them at all. The blu cheese dressing...again, an item that The Peanut has which is most terrific. Well, Galloway misses on this front too. The dressing had a very tart/sour taste....and not at all a good dressing at all. Been a while since I've had their other food...but it used to be good. But the wings - and even naming them "Main St" wings...which is the street the original Peanut is on. If you've heard that their salmon is great! That's absolutely correct. You wouldn't expect such good salmon when you look at this place but two thumbs up! Obviously I had the salmon phone forgot to eat and the fries were not gluten free so i had a side salad. We also had edamame and chips and queso. Which were delicious. The waitress was also great. I arrived with my family of 3. Hostess says, "sit where you want." I ask if the patio is open. "Yes it is," they say. The high top tables are all free, but I have a three-year-old. There's an open six-seat low-top table--the only open low-top--and we choose that. First, a server comes by and then says, "we usually only use this table for parties of 6." I said, "well, they said sit where you'd like, and this was the only kid-friendly spot." She leaves as if that's ok. Then, a few minutes after letting us sit there and wait, another server arrives and asks, "how many in your party?" 3, I tell her. To which she replies, "this table is for parties of six, only, so we're going have to ask you to move. The only available tables were high-tops, whose seat is way too high for my three-year-old, so the only option was to leave. We went to Bair's instead--they didn't kick us out of our seat after having us choose our own seat, and their food is delicious! So, don't waste your time with Galloway--just go somewhere better that isn't rude. read more

The bacon bleu burger is one of the top three burgers I've ever had and the sweet potato fries were amazing and perfectly crisp. I'll definitely be back. We stopped in here the day after Thanksgiving for a bite to eat and some family time. This place is super small and we did have a bit of an awkward wait for a table for our party of 9 simply because when the place is full there is literally no where to stand and wait inside. It was raining so we couldn't wait outside, so it was...awkward. We were clearly waiting for a large table to leave and tried not to stare as they sat there with their plates cleared, drinks empty, and bill paid as they continued to talk for an additional 15 or 20 minutes. But hey, they were there first. LOL! Once we were seated, our server was super great and did a really good job of taking our drink orders (they have a blackberry cider on draft that is really good) and then our food orders. This is a small place with a college football bar vibe that is really popular. Our food came out in waves, but that's understandable since the kitchen was slammed. I had the edamame to start and it was standard, but cooked perfectly and then their chicken wings, which are whole wings and gigantic! I could only eat 3 and took the rest home. The pork sandwich someone ordered was huge as well and a fan favorite. Everyone was happy with their food and the service. Next time I'll try a burger because it look great too. read more

I haven't had such a rude customer service experience in a long time. Especially knowing that the blonde lady who was so rude to me was the owner. I love that this company believes they can treat people however they want just because their business is booming as of right now. It is never OK to shuffle customers straight out the door and slam it in their face especially when you just ask them to come in on text. This company is rude and disorganized and it shows. Hidden gem! One of the best patios in town. Great to stop in for a drink and food if you're walking the trails. Their warm spinach salad is amazing, french fries are some of the best in town. Must try their Galloway sauce! The Galloway Grill is an especially great spot if the weather accommodates and you get to sit outside on the patio. There is ample room both inside and outside and its a great local hangout. I had the sandwich of pulled pork and bacon on wheat toast along with crispy fries. All the items were tasty. The cobb salad was good, was was a cheeseburger. I will add they have a good beer selection, but I didn't try any on this visit (long drive ahead). Go! Blow off a few hours from work on a long lunch.......or turn it right into happy hour.
