It is a very nice m, upscale sort if looking place where you have different food options and its a pick up and go place. They have salad, sandwiches, hot and cold food choices. Plenty of snacks and beverages ti choose from too. I got a Turkey and Swiss on a roll with a bag of chips and a kit kat bar. Horrible experience with extremely rude customer service. Was OVERCHARGED at the register. Cashier didn't try to help when I pointed out the discrepancy. She just kept insisting the total due was the total due. I had to go to the manager (as the cashier was doing nothing about the situation), I showed the manager the price on the shelf where I chose my items. He stands there for a good few seconds not saying anything (his English was barely existing). I go back to the register to pay the correct price, only to have the rude cashier insist on the overpriced amount. I patiently wait for the manager to inform her. Instead the manager strolls toward the cashier and then proceeds to turn around saying absolutely nothing and goes toward the back of the store, opens a cabinet and takes out a price sticker machine. A line is now forming at the one cashier that's open. I step away and ask the manager why he hasn't informed the cashier of the price on the shelf so I may finalize my purchase and leave. He says in broken English "price not right". I said okay, I understand that, but you need to handle this matter and THEN go fix your prices. He ultimately gave her the okay to change the price at the register for me in a very rude manner. The cashier was also very rude about the whole situation and didn't offer to bag my items, instead left them on the counter and gestured to the next customer to checkout. Luckily, I had a reusable bag on me with personal items, so I added my items to that bag, as I couldn't wait to leave that store and will NEVER return again. read more

Why did we stumble upon this place our last morning while out for a stroll? We grabbed bacon egg and cheese bagels, along with a bagel with just bacon. Let me tell you, they put so much bacon on that bagel! We walked around a bit in the cold before heading back to our hotel and the bagels were still warm and cheese still melty. I stumbled across this place while looking for a salad bar spot. Little did I know I hit the jackpot. It was a Wonderland of assortment and choices, which worked for me just fine. They had two sizes of salads to choose from and they had just about every topping, you could imagine. I was a very happy man and I cannot wait to go back again. There was not only salads, but there were sandwiches that you could buy different soups that you could choose from sushi and God knows what else. If you're easily overwhelmed, this place will definitely give you a bit of option anxiety... which, when you're talking about salads, that ain't necessarily a bad thing. My meal was incredibly enjoyable. The meal came with multiple garnishes, and the staff was incredibly polite, friendly, and helpful. I visited during lunchtime, so my meal was under $20. Duke is a pretty solid grab and go lunch spot in the heart of Manhattan. I've had this place a few times as it is close to my office and they offer a very wide selection. I got the Big Man Sandwich, grilled roast beef, mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, bacon, and avocado on a hero roll. A lot of good food for $16. It's probably my favorite order at Duke's, where anything else you can find a better version of elsewhere. If you're gonna spend $16 here, go to the sandwich line. That's where they're at. read more

We have had food here for multiple times during lunch since we work around the area, yet the service/attitude we received today is outrageously bad. We bought some food from food truck and bring to this food court, but we also purchase drinks upstairs in the DUKE so that we can eat here. There are 3 waiter/worker staring at us when we are having lunch and walk over telling us no outside food allowed. We apologize and said will not bring next time, but they constantly coming over and interrupt our lunch/talk by saying: you'll have to clean the table yourself. We said yes, but then after a few minutes the same guy came over saying: Please leave, we will need to clean. And he kept coming back pushing us to leave by saying they need to clean. Not only we already agree to clean the table ourselves, the other customers are also still working on their dishes, without him pushing them to leave? What on earth do you think you are to force me get out of my lunch time and keep interrupting me when I'm talking to my friend? Great spread of food, tons of options and all consistently good. Tons of lunch/bodega type places around but Duke is a step above. I tend to go for the sandwiches but I've gotten sushi and the hot bar as well and everything is consistently good. I really oughta try the ramen and other Korean options as they look great. This was my second visit to grab lunch to go. It is a huge eatery with plenty of seating on the side. An upscale Korean style food Hall and glorified deli -- which offers ramen, a salad station, hot and cold buffet, sandwiches, and Bimbap. But what sets them apart is the ginormous space to show their products and the seating. Lots of communal style tables or single seats available as well. The whole place is surrounded by a variety of drinks - bottled, fresh squeezed, cafe station, tons of local branded options, does not disappoint. I couldn't decide what I wanted, the downside of too many options. LOL The center of the place displays chips, nuts, rice cakes, and other packaged cut fruit or bagged snacks and candy. Lots of chocolate and allergy friendly options. I was pleased with both of my visits, first time was for sushi and this visit was for a quick bite/pre-packed tuna with crackers. There are ropes to form a line at checkout but with no less than six registers open, it's constantly moving. Almost no wait even at 1pm lunch rush. Great stop for vegan breakfast! I had the mixed-berry açaí bowl that was made to order with fresh fruits and perfectly ripe banana, and a great cup of decaf. #1 son got oatmeal, and he had the choice of oatmeal cooked with water, almond milk, and cow's milk. He chose the almond milk oatmeal and it was creamy and delicious. He added brown sugar, dried cranberries and bananas. Being the growing kid that he is, he also ordered the vegetarian sandwich and it was a delicious work of sandwich art! This is going to be done a little differently than my usual review. Because this is an "Eatery" it is like a mix between a grocery store, a coffee house, a salad/soup bar, a sandwich house, and a cafeteria. We only visited for breakfast, but we did it THREE DAYS IN A ROW!!! We were so impressed with the politeness and taste of the food that we couldn't help but go back. Did I mention the prices? So low. They have a plethora of freshly made, and hot, breakfast sandwiches. They also have pancakes and French toast ready to go. Their potato hash is sooo tasty. Many NYC workers rush in and grab sandwiches for their lunches later and a quick breakfast sandwich to get them started. They have an amazing array of drinks to choose from. Two gigantic walls filled with every energy drink, iced coffee, juice, coke, and waters you could imagine. The wife and daughter got the Mocha Cafe all 3 mornings. I ended up getting the Egg, Sausage, and Cheese croissant each morning. I could now live off these. I would love to have had the opportunity to go back for lunch but maybe on another trip. I've been coming to Duke Eatery about 1x a week for the past few months. I think it's a good go-to destination for lunch, especially if you're going as a group, as there is something for everyone. Pros (+) Large selection of different foods and vegetarian options. There is a standard weight-based selection with pastas, meats, salads / veggies and fruits (my favorite). Besides that, Duke has a good selection of sandwiches and Korean fare (+) Efficient check-out. Well lit seating area toward the front of the place with bar seating and table seating. The cash registers create a nice buffer from the eating area and the food stations more towards the back of the establishment. Hot food stations and a salad bar area is towards the left side to the middle of the place. To the rear is the salad station and to the right is the refrigerated area. The Eats - I was here for breakfast. They offer a plethora of options. They have a smoothie station, pastries and coffee station, omelette and breakfast station and the salad bar was full of fresh and ready to grab breakfast options. I usually go for what's available at the hot bar and pay by the weight. Don't get too carried away as the price will really rack up on you. It's usually very hectic during lunch hours so the cashier's focused on ringing you up as fast as possible. Because of that, don't expect a friendly conversation or some sort of greeting. The few pre-made buffet salads were ok - no clean lettuces or un-sauced proteins though, and no cold veggies either. They do have a make-your-own-salad area so I guess if you want any of that you need to stand on that line and forgo the buffet. They also have korean bowls, poke bowls, sushi, and deli.
