My meal was incredibly enjoyable. The meal came with multiple garnishes, and the staff was incredibly polite, friendly, and helpful. I visited during lunchtime, so my meal was under $20. Considering the amount of food I received, I would say this was a great deal and experience. I would definitely recommend this place and would definitely stop by again.

===== Cheap prices, insanely high quality, hugely diverse selection - run don't walk here ===== MULTIPLE breakfasts and brunches here. If you're looking for a fancy place to sit down, this isn't it. It's cafeteria style tables. But... + Quality of food is insanely high. + Sushi? Amazing. We have some excellent sushi in California and the 3-4 types of sushi I had over several days was awesome (shrimp tempura with avo, cucumber, and imitation crab; unagi with avo; straight up CA roll). + BEC's? On point. Fresh ingredients, piping hot, freshly made. + French toast. Made in advance but also great. + Oatmeal? 3-4 different kinds depending on whether you wanted it made with oat milk, almond milk, regular milk, skim milk. THEN they craft it for you depending on whether you want walnuts, sliced almonds, pecans, raisins, dried cherries, brown sugar, sliced bananas, or shredded coconut. Are you kidding??? + And the prices for each of these? Easily 50% of the going rate everywhere else. At NY, we expect either good quality and paying dearly for it, or paying less for food on the go that's going to be, well, food on the go :-D But paying less for amazing food? Dukes Eatery was pretty much the only place this existed on our 1+ week in NY. Seriously, try this place.

Duke is a pretty solid grab and go lunch spot in the heart of Manhattan. I've had this place a few times as it is close to my office and they offer a very wide selection. I got the Big Man Sandwich, grilled roast beef, mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, bacon, and avocado on a hero roll. A lot of good food for $16. It's probably my favorite order at Duke's, where anything else you can find a better version of elsewhere. If you're gonna spend $16 here, go to the sandwich line. That's where they're at.

This was my second visit to grab lunch to go. It is a huge eatery with plenty of seating on the side. An upscale Korean style food Hall and glorified deli -- which offers ramen, a salad station, hot and cold buffet, sandwiches, and Bimbap. But what sets them apart is the ginormous space to show their products and the seating. Lots of communal style tables or single seats available as well. The whole place is surrounded by a variety of drinks - bottled, fresh squeezed, cafe station, tons of local branded options, does not disappoint. I couldn't decide what I wanted, the downside of too many options. LOL The center of the place displays chips, nuts, rice cakes, and other packaged cut fruit or bagged snacks and candy. Lots of chocolate and allergy friendly options. I was pleased with both of my visits, first time was for sushi and this visit was for a quick bite/pre-packed tuna with crackers. There are ropes to form a line at checkout but with no less than six registers open, it's constantly moving. Almost no wait even at 1pm lunch rush. It's a good spot to hit up if you're undecided or going to grab food with a bunch of people that all want different things. Variety is the spice of life!

Great stop for vegan breakfast! I had the mixed-berry açaí bowl that was made to order with fresh fruits and perfectly ripe banana, and a great cup of decaf. #1 son got oatmeal, and he had the choice of oatmeal cooked with water, almond milk, and cow's milk. He chose the almond milk oatmeal and it was creamy and delicious. He added brown sugar, dried cranberries and bananas. Being the growing kid that he is, he also ordered the vegetarian sandwich and it was a delicious work of sandwich art! My husband ordered the vegetarian omelet and toast and they made it right in front of him. Servings are generous, so come hungry. Grab and go snacks and drinks are available.

This is going to be done a little differently than my usual review. Because this is an "Eatery" it is like a mix between a grocery store, a coffee house, a salad/soup bar, a sandwich house, and a cafeteria. We only visited for breakfast, but we did it THREE DAYS IN A ROW!!! We were so impressed with the politeness and taste of the food that we couldn't help but go back. Did I mention the prices? So low. They have a plethora of freshly made, and hot, breakfast sandwiches. They also have pancakes and French toast ready to go. Their potato hash is sooo tasty. Many NYC workers rush in and grab sandwiches for their lunches later and a quick breakfast sandwich to get them started. They have an amazing array of drinks to choose from. Two gigantic walls filled with every energy drink, iced coffee, juice, coke, and waters you could imagine. The wife and daughter got the Mocha Cafe all 3 mornings. I ended up getting the Egg, Sausage, and Cheese croissant each morning. I could now live off these. I would love to have had the opportunity to go back for lunch but maybe on another trip. This is a 5 star place with great service and food.

Seared sushi quality tuna over bed of kale, roasted Brussel sprouts, cauliflower, and a few small fried dumplings (guilty treat!).

A welcome addition to Midtown's lunch scene! Choice of salad, hot sandwiches, Udon, Ramen, Bibimbap, Teriyaki, Sushi, hot buffet, cold buffet, a grill, and some grocery items. The place is awesome - albeit a bit pricier than other lunch buffet spots. Worth it IMO! Excellent, fresh flavors from the hot buffet and the asian stir fry/noodle bar! Definitely in my rotation at least once a week! Thanks, Duke, for being a short walk from the office!

Food for everyone! This is a clear go to lunch spot in the area especially if you are indecisive. They have chopped salads, poke bowls, wraps, hot bar of food, sandwiches. It's just endless food here. I am a big fan on their egg sandwiches and wraps this is a place you really can't go wrong. On certain food their prices are a little high. In addition the have a huge selection of drinks In short: - Great lunch spot for everyone - Good food

The bartender was rude and uninterested, standing 5 min+ at the bar without even being acknowledged. The DJ was underwhelming and the bathroom was vile. The most pleasant part was the below average $20 drinks. For an expensive, well-known spot, this was a very poor experience. For my entree, I ordered the vodka rigatoni and a side of buttered broccoli. The vodka rigatoni was really good - liked the flavor and a decent size of pasta. The broccoli was really good for some reason to me. Also tried the truffle mac and cheese which was incredibly rich and tasted great. As a dessert, we had the chocolate pie which was dense, rich, and topped with a huge dollop of whipped topping. I really liked the atmosphere of the place, loud roaring 20s style with jazz playing. I've heard "Lunch at The Modern" so many times, one thing I was absolutely going to do during this…read moretrip to NYC was lunch at The Modern, and I'm so glad I did. Located at MoMA, The Modern is a 2 Michelin star restaurant hosting both fine dining, showcasing Chef Thomas Allan's cuisine, and a more casual dining experience in The Bar Room. The restaurant is gorgeous and has a giant glass wall overlooking MoMA's Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden, a lovely view. There is an abridged tasting menu of 3 courses, but we opted for the full chef's menu cause we didn't want to miss their signature "eggs on eggs on eggs" and after the supplemental charge, the price was close enough. - Hiramasa and sugar snap peas/crispy ham and cheese--simple and delicious, with the hiramasa being light and fresh and the ham and cheese providing a deeply savory contrast - Chilled lobster, shiso, and green radish--the lobster was cold and sweet but as a personal preference, I don't really enjoy bitter flavors and the slice of lemon under the radish threw it off a bit - Eggs on eggs on eggs--words cannot adequately describe the unctuousness of this dish, it's like eating rich, buttery velvet on a crispy, fluffy log of brioche. As a bonus, they bring you an extra toast to mop up all the tasty bits - Pumpkin seed sourdough and cultured butter--okay I totally didn't know this was meant to be eaten with the next dish so given total lack of self control in the face of pillowy fresh bread and perhaps the smoothest butter on the planet, I may or may not have eaten it all before the trout showed up... they were nice enough to give us more :') - Sea trout with clams and saffron shellfish broth--the fish was cooked to literal perfection and the clam and saffron sauce enhanced everything even more. This fights with the chicken dish for spot #2 in my favorites of this meal - Heritage chicken, provençal asparagus, vin jaune--this reminds me of the stuffed chicken from Per Se and was cooked just as well. The vin jaune sauce was slightly nutty with an incredibly rich flavor and also went well with the bread - Lamb saddle, romanesco, and lemon poached dates--for some reason I thought the chicken was the final savory course and I did not pace myself at all and was so full by this point. The lamb was tender and the date was a wonderful bite though - Wild strawberries and cacao--I can't remember what was all in this but I loved the little wild strawberries as they were like delicious strawberry gummies - Dark chocolate cremeux, meyer lemon, and espresso--delicious with interesting flavors, I haven't had many lemon, chocolate, and coffee combinations - Mignardises of raspberry, lemon coconut, cherry cheesecake--only one I tried was the cherry cheesecake bonbon but my husband ate 'em all so they must've been good lol The MVP of this meal was the melon lemonade mocktail, made with honeydew, jasmine, and pandan. Might be the most perfect drink for me ever made because it was melony with a subtle floral note from the pandan and jasmine, and only lightly sweet and tart, everything I love. Sooooo good! Service was pretty good up until we wanted to pay, and for some reason it became really difficult to find someone to close us out. We waited almost 20 minutes between the mignardises and finally being able to pay, even actively looking around trying to flag someone down. Despite The Modern not being the most innovative of meals, it's easily one of my all time favorites. I definitely prefer food that's executed well over food that's pushing boundaries, and may be back any time I'm in town.

Hands down the best restaurant experience my wife and I have ever had…read more We wanted to treat ourselves for our anniversary, and I had recently watched their Bon Appétit behind-the-scenes video. Their entire operation seemed so incredibly focused, meticulous, and inspiring that we knew we had to try it. We started with the Iberico ham and the hiramasa tart, both incredible. Then came the chilled lobster, which was super fresh and refreshing, served with an amazing sauce that made me want to lick the plate clean. Every dish felt refined without being overly complicated. The service was extraordinary. You can immediately tell the front-of-house team is operating at an extremely high level and is aware of everything happening in the room at all times. At one point, my wife stepped away to use the restroom just as they were about to serve the first course. Without saying a word or making anything awkward, the staff simply looped around a couple of times until she returned. The moment she sat down, they resumed service seamlessly without missing a beat. That level of awareness and professionalism really stood out to us. Next came the rye bread, which was fresh and crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, paired with delicious butter. Then we had the sea bass with crab, which was phenomenal and one of my favorite dishes of the night. But the true star of the show for me was the lamb. My wife and I grill lamb racks often, and I genuinely had no idea this level of perfection existed. It was cooked flawlessly, and the sauce was absolutely incredible. If I was not in public, I probably would have been scraping the bone clean :) Big shoutout to one of the staff members, Stephanie, who completely made our night. We were telling her how excited we were to finally visit after watching the Bon Appétit video, and she casually asked if we wanted a tour of the kitchen after dinner. Honestly, I thought she was joking at first. Then she came back after dessert and reminded us. Even after paying the bill, I still thought maybe she was kidding, but then she walked over smiling and said, "Let's go." My wife and I were completely geeked out. Seeing the kitchen in person was surreal. It was exactly like the video: super meticulous, orders being called out and repeated in unison, everyone moving with total precision and purpose. You could see the Omega clock, the Michelin stars on the wall, and just the overall culture of excellence behind everything they do. We were honestly in awe. Thank you again, Stephanie. That experience meant so much to us. Every time we visit a fine dining restaurant for a special occasion, I always wonder whether it will truly live up to the hype. Some completely miss the mark. Some are very good. But none have delivered on every aspect the way The Modern did. This is officially our favorite restaurant in the world.
