    Coconut Curry Chicken Soup
    Annika K.

can i just say wow in speechless! Came here and was IMMEDIATELY greeted with such kindness by all the staff. As they had a large catering order today I was offered more than what was out but I'm a simple gal plus they had my favorite buffalo chicken wrap out so I grabbed that as well as coconut water, a cookie, and coconut chicken curry soup and here are my thoughts: the buffalo wrap was amazing! the staff recommended it cold and can I stay a cold wrap with hot soup on a rainy day hit the spot! Plus the flavors were especially there with the coolness of the wrap. This wrap was also so filling!! I finished this and was like wow im pretty stuffed - cant imagine eating more but alas i had a soup to consume the soup: literally so full of flavors! the broath had the perfect curry coconut taste and tbh i could have drank the broat itself and been happy. the chicken was cooked very well and tender - plus there were some veggies and rice (or grain) in the soup to make it super hearty. big fav of this i actually need the recipe to remake - soooo good and i can tell the perfect cure if you arent feeling well best food and best experience - i HIGHLY recommend you grab lunch here or even ask your office to cater here you will not be disappointed:)

    Coconut Curry Tofu Hot Plate

I ordered Proper Food for lunch last week because I forgot a lunch and wasn't working from my normal office. Proper offers delicious and fresh options that meet a variety of dietary needs (vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, etc.). I originally had my eye on the Seasonal Grain Bowl but because the meals are prepared fresh daily ahead of lunch time what I wanted was sold out. I ended up getting the Curry Tofu Hot Plate and it was delicious! A friend ordered with me and she got the Turkey Avocado Sandwich which she said was good and fresh too. The pick up process was easy and our food was ready super fast. Proper Food is a great pick up or delivery option in the mid-town area! Highly rec!

    Coconut Curry Tofu Hot Plate

I had tried the Wall Street location but was not a fan. Nonetheless, I decided to give the midtown location a shot and the food was exactly the same. I ordered food for pickup. I almost feel bad for not liking the food because the interior was clean, bright and inviting, and the staff was friendly and attentive. They had my food ready when I arrived and even offered to heat it up for me in the store. I ordered the curry tofu with broccoli and rice. The idea was creative but the execution was disappointing - the tofu was a bit too salty, the rice was plain and the broccoli was bland, even with the curry sauce on top. Moreover the whole thing felt like airplane food, especially since it was wrapped similarly. The meal was disappointing overall and I will also not be returning to this location.

    Winter Salad with Salmon $17.95
    Alice C.

$17.95 for the winter salad, pre packaged, pulled from the fridge. It contained two wedges of oranges, paper thin slices of beets (no more than a slice of lemon they put in your soda), a spoonful of quinoa, a cold piece of salmon, and a WHOOOOOOLE box of leaves. The only reason I got this was bc I ordered it via Grubhub and wanted to try something new while I had a coupon to use. Even with the discount and I picked it up myself, it was a $13.26 salad. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was because the leaves were not rotten. It was over priced

    Loads to choose from!

Proper Food is an awesome option when you want healthy and quick combined. The place is kind of small but there are few seats available for those who want to eat in. The service is friendly and fast and they even heat up your food if you'd like. The best part of the experience is learning that they donate all unsold food at the end of the day!

    Seared Lemon Pepper Tuna Salad
    Peggy W.

I stopped by Proper Food for the first time last week to try out this relatively new grab and go lunch spot during lunchtime. They carry a decent selection of pre-prepared foods. I got a $15 seared lemon pepper tuna salad, and it was extremely subpar. The salad came with a few slices of seared tuna, basmati rice, lentils, roasted almonds, tomatoes, kale, and a vinaigrette. The flavor was decent, but the salad was overall nothing special. I was still hungry after eating it. At the end of the day, Proper Food isn't bad, but it's hard to make a compelling argument to a get a small, subpar, pre-prepared salad for $15 when Sweetgreen is right around the corner.

    Nutella Cookie was good
    Nicholas G.

Small cookie shop that also has some other little treats. I tried the nutella cookie on the counter and it was very good. They also serve sandwiches and other lunch items that looked pretty solid. Will check out next time The staff in here are also very nice and the service is quick. They were helpful and friendly. There are no tables only stools and a small counter. I chilled out while I enjoyed my tea and then left. Not much of an atmosphere but thats not why you come here. Overall, cool spot. Not much to report here. Looks like a grab and go place but no complaints from me!

This place is so close to my work that at first I was surprised I had never heard of it. There was a deal on the Ritual app to save a couple dollars on certain entrees so I decided to give it a try. I'm curious if the food is made fresh in the building or if they just order the meals and heat them up because as my friend put it "the chicken doesn't look like it was cut by humans". I wish they gave more curry with the meal because everything else was so dry. Just because something is supposed to be healthy doesn't mean it has to taste bad. A while after I ate this food my stomach started to hurt. I can't guarantee that it was due to this food, but I'd be willing to bet on it.

Pickled veggies, fresh falafel, the works. The waffle was also delicious and it had an addicting maple-butterscotch sauce that kept us coming back (I wish I ordered one just for myself it was that good). Can't wait to come back, Banter Brunch days will definitely be a part of my routine.

The dining room was extremely hot, and there didn't appear to be any air conditioning, which made it uncomfortable throughout the meal. The food also took quite a while to arrive. I ordered a tequila mule, but it was lacking flavor and was underwhelming. For my entrée, I ordered the steak medium well, but it came out medium rare. Despite being undercooked, the steak was surprisingly tough and chewy, and it did not seem like a quality cut of meat considering the price. The waiter was friendly and provided good service, which was the highlight of the visit. However, due to the uncomfortable atmosphere, slow food service, disappointing drink, and poor-quality steak, I would not recommend dining here.

My date ordered the hanger steak and said it was absolutely amazing. Only hiccup: his first glass of wine he got came out hot... like, microwave-level warm. Fortunately, the server brought a new (cold) one and the rest of the meal was smooth sailing. Service was friendly, the vibe was homey and relaxed, and the food was solid across the board. Would definitely come back, especially for that salad and another round of grenadine magic.

It was our first time eating at a Friedman's location. It had a nice diner feel to it, with a mix of booths and tables. The brunch menu has a variety of breakfast items, salads, sandwiches and burgers, starters, and entrees (fish tacos, grain bowl, fried chicken). I like that several of the items are naturally gluten free, and some can be made gluten free by request. We decided to go with three breakfast items from the brunch menu: I got the shakshuka, my sister got the Nova Benny, and we got the lemon ricotta pancakes to share. All 3 dishes were great. The shashuka came with grilled ciabatta, perfect for dipping into the sunny side eggs and tomato sauce. My sister loved that the poached eggs and smoked salmon of the Nova Benny came on top of a crispy potato latke. The pancakes were fluffy and the lemon ricotta and lemon zest elevated their flavor. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he asked us if we had any allergies when he took our order. He came by several times to check on us and refill water.
