It's about a 12min drive west of I-10, located in a small business park strip mall. It's absolutely worth the diversion. They have a small section with groceries, and a larger area with refrigerated goods. I tried El Cubano (no tomato, no cabbage), Potato Salad, and Key Lime Parfait. El Cubano was actually delicious. Their thinly sliced and seasoned seitan was perfect, as was the accompanying sauces and toasted bread. I'd order this on repeat if I lived nearby. I was surprised by how great the potato salad was. It had the perfect mayo/mustard balance, which is extremely difficult to find. I need a gallon of this. The key lime parfait was ok. I expected more (in terms of flavor, not quantity), but it was not bad. I've just had much better so I wouldn't order it again. I'd be willing to try a different dessert next time. It was gluten free so that's a plus! There were many other things on the menu that caught my eye, but I only have one tummy. If we'd had a cooler I would've grabbed some tuNo salad, Egg-y salad, smoked chick'n & pasta, and CTK tempeh pâté from their refrigerated section, because everything looked delicious. But now I have the perfect excuse to return to CTK on my next PHX-LAX drive.

I also love their little store section with the faux meats, seasonings, and merchandise. I ordered the bowl of chili, the Chupacabra sandwich and the Guadalajara burger. The chili was so flavorful and I enjoyed learning that they use Rancho Gordo beans. The Guadalajara burger had great toppings but as much as I try, I'm not the biggest fan of Tempeh. The chupacabra sandwich was good, the menu said that the 'chicken' is thinly sliced, I didn't realize just how thin it is. I think I would have preferred if it were slightly thicker and less cabbage. There was so much cabbage that it overpowered the rest of the sandwich. Overall, I think this place is a gem and I'd like to try their other menu items.

It was close to end of day so I was quick to browse the offerings before placing my sandwich order. Ended up getting a Caprese and Parma on focaccia. The staff seemed preoccupied with Cleaning but did their best to get my sandwich order out fast. I've heard nothing but good things about this place but this is my first time. I asked the lady behind the counter for a popular favorite recommendation and she seemed confused and just said everything was good. Two sandwiches around $40 so I was hoping for something great. Unfortunately we agreed that the taste was good, but nothing amazing and probably not what we were expecting for the price. Everything fell just a little bit flat. It wasn't bad but it wasn't memorable either. I ended up drizzling balsamic vinegar on the Caprese at home since they only put olive oil and a little bit of pesto on the bread and the whole thing just felt lacking ever so slightly. The shop itself was clean and well kept and had a lot to offer so I still recommend stopping by and browsing for Italian goodies. Just not my favorite sandwich spot. Maybe we will try something else another day or just stick to the pasta!

Some people ask, do you like steak fries? Skinny fries? Waffle fries? My new answer is: I LOVE SHERMAN FRIES. I've never had anything like them. They're like air puffed ruffles with the perfect crisp! YUP! The service was on point and they kindly offer pickles to start! It is a restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, and simple ambiance. Good luck getting a few feet past entering, without marveling at the bakery items - cookies, cakes, everything delectable! Go ahead and take something to go if you don't feel like a sweet treat while you're there! During our visit we had the bbq brisket, summer delight salad (SO MANY FRUITS) and patty melt (asked to sub it on a Kaiser roll). Everything, 5 stars!

However, we did not realize the emphasis on a Jewish menu until after we were seated . . . lox, blech, gefilte fish, yuk . . . so we kindly apologized and were about to stand up and leave. A very nice and understanding waiter began rattling off more traditional food item suggestions that certainly sounded good. I am glad he did. Their food is fresh, plentiful when it comes to serving size and ingredients (see the attached photo of the sandwich I got) and their service is prompt and attentive. We did not get any baked goods, but they also sure looked good as we walked by the display on the way out. It has a comfortable, open and well lit atmosphere. We are very glad we decided to stay.

We were greeted in French as we walked in and we were immediately transported back to Europe. We took a little time to glance at their menu and decided to pick up a few items. We sat in one of the tables and it allowed us to take our sweet time as the cafe went through its hustle and bustle. As we sat there, we got to observe who we believe is the owner of the cafe. She was very friendly and had a conversation with every single customer, not just your typical hi and hello. She also had a great humor, joking around with customers asking for the code for the bathroom. It was very refreshing to see someone truly enjoy conversing with strangers and making life fun. I digress, but back to their food. Their pistachio croissant was very buttery and had a good bite to it. We also fell in love with their affogato. Not sure whether because of the gelato or their coffee, but it was probably one of the best affogatos we've had. We also decided to order a sandwich to go for lunch. We got the Italian tuna sandwich which we thoroughly enjoyed later in the day. We also took a stracciatella gelato home and really enjoyed the gelato they served. The owner told us the brand of the gelato because we really enjoyed it. Truly one of the best find!

It would seem like the place has been quite successful. The owners recently announced they are planning to open a second location in Palm Desert. BUT, I just learned recently that Les Filles charges higher pricing than their posted prices if the customer uses a credit card AND rather than break out those additional prices on the receipt, the upcharge is automatically included in the item price. Not sure why they do this but the I experience that practice to be deceptive. I am not excited to go back to Les Filles or recommend it to others. Buyer beware!!!
