Call and order ahead, so they will have your sandwich waiting. We always go for breakfast, and get their croissant sandwiches and a cup of freshly squeezed orange juice. They are very flaky, so it's a good idea to eat sitting down and not while driving. The only thing I miss is their spam as an option: it hasn't been on the menu for a long time, and they keep saying they will get it back, but it's been over six months since they said that. This is a review for a pickup with Too Good to Go. Parking was easy. Not too busy inside. Staff greeted me and I mentioned my pickup. They quickly put together a selection of pastry and bread varieties for me in a nice box. Very nice. It's a small shop with limited seating inside and outside. Absolutely love this place. I love the ambience. The employees are great. They finish making your food fast and it's really close to my job area so it's a very helpful to be able to call in and just come and pick up my order on a 15 minute break. It's definitely a gem! I order a fresh egg and cheese with mayo. They also have hot sauce packets, which is totally underrated. I need my hot sauce! This place gets a 10 out of 10 from me! read more

This bakery is tucked away in a small shopping plaza and worth seeking out. The pastries are made on site and delicious. They even have empanadas! I ordered an Americano and guava + cheese danish this morning. The danish had the perfect amount of guava to cheese ratio and wasn't overly sweet. The coffee is also good; just the right amount of kick. The staff are very friendly and try to complete orders in a timely manner. Plenty of parking, too! You should visit Dulzura soon! read more

I tried out an assortment of pastries from Too Good To Go. The doughnuts were fresh and the frosting was better than at Chuck's doughnuts (sorry Chuck!). I also got a ham and cheese croissant - I don't like ham, but the croissant was good and fresh and the cheese part was good. The best part was the meat-filled empanada. SO GOOD. I had left a poor review of an empanada place in San Francisco which understandably was not appreciated by the owner. But the pastry here is exactly what I want: flavorful, freshly-made, and not soaking in meat oil. Support small businesses that bring fresh, delicious food to you every day! There is ample parking. The cafe near 92 and El Camino. If you're stuck in traffic on 92 E, you can stop by here for a break and a snack. read more

Came here again and am upping my review to 5 stars because the owner is such a nice guy. Even though this was only my second visit, he actually recognized me! He seemed very happy to see me again. :) This time, he showed me their lunch special, which seemed like a yummy breaded chicken cutlet on rice with a sauce and plenty of vegetables. I was tempted, but I already ate lunch for the day so I respectfully declined. I then got 2 cheese puffs, and he offered to warm them up for me, then said it was good to see me (how sweet!). When I got home and bit into a cheese puff, I was in love. Delightfully sweet with crunchy sugar crystals, but the cream cheese kept its tanginess. Really need to get this again. I keep saying I'm coming back to places in my reviews, but I'm for sure taking it a step further and becoming a regular here. I'm always on the lookout for new cafes and was happy to see this popped up on my local search. I appreciate that it's located in a low traffic area, hidden from foot traffic, a small feel local spot. I was enticed by their NICHE claim to being a Cuban cafe serving up a Cuban menu. I haven't been to Cuba nor have I been to a cafe in Cuba, but I was still amazed at their eclectic tropical offerings. From Guava to Passionfruit to Pineapple to Coconut flavors, I am impressed and eager to try more! I ordered the Guava & Cheese Toast and asked for light cream cheese and light guava spread. It was served as a sandwich with Cuban bread and the amount of cream cheese and guava was HUGE. So much that I couldn't eat it without wiping off most of it. Otherwise I loved the tasty toasted bread and the guava flavor! I also ordered a cortado with almond milk and it seemed watery? Kinda like a coffee with a splash of almond milk? I would have preferred they asked if I wanted it in a mug or not too. Otherwise, caffeine that I definitely needed! The man at the counter was lively and funny. Quick to help and converse. Hidden neighborhood gem in a small corner strip mall near Fiesta Garden neighborhood. Good selection of pastries, breakfast bites, Cuban sandwiches. Feels like walking in a friends kitchen . Owner ( very friendly man ) says " We make everything here. Except money". He's right. The prices are so reasonable for the quality you get. Happy to support this local business. Super cute little cafe that caught my eye as I was driving by the other day - on a Sunday at 4:30 - closed - so I made a point of coming today to try their taste of Miami - I ordered a cortadito (double espresso with some milk and sugar) - the coffee has a nice flavor to it and just enough sugar to make it fun without spiking the blood sugar - also ordered the beef empanada - it had a few more words in there but you get the idea - the pastry was nice and flakey and had a good flavor -beef had a little spice, and the flavor was good - it was a nice snack size between lunch and dinner - lady in the back caught my eye and smiled pleasantly - and the young men in the front were also personable - I think perhaps one was new, he was learning how to make the cortadito - I'd say they did a good job - thanks for the midafternoon pick me up - if you live nearby or even if you don't, come on by! In memory of Elena Ruz. Apparently the new owners decided to mess with my lifetime favorite sandwich by replacing the sliced roast turkey meat with turkey lunch meat, taking it from what I felt was a well-deserved high 5 down to a 3.5 at best. I did give them feedback that it would have been fine with me had they raised the price or switched it to marinated chicken, but lunch meat was a no-no for me. But when I went again and asked before ordering this time, I was informed of the change in owners and that the change in the sandwich is likely permanent. My new 4 stars rating is for the marinated chicken sandwich in curry mayo, which apparently is still the same. It's a low 4 stars, but definitely 4 not 3.5. I previously got this now and then as a change of pace from the Elena Ruz. Service is still helpful and pleasant and they know their menu. The place is still nothing fancy but comfortable enough. If you're in the neighborhood it's probably fine (as long as you don't get the Elena Ruz). But it's no longer worth my taking a trip there from San Francisco. As long as they're using lunch meat in the Elena Ruz, they probably won't be seeing me again, to my great sadness. I am happy to revisit them if I learn that they're restored the Elena Ruz to its former glory. Again, I'd be fine if they change it to the same marinated chicken that they use in the Key West or raise the price to keep the roasted turkey. read more

I never knew this little cafe existed (and so close to me too!). We popped in late afternoon for a caffeine fix and decided to try the cortadito - espresso shots with some milk and sugar. It was a bit sweeter than expected, but it hit the spot. I haven't had a cortadito outside of Miami, and haven't yet been to Cuba, so Dulzura might be the best option for your Cuban fix. The individual working the register was very welcoming and personable. He gave us some recommendations as it was our first time there. In addition to drinks, they also have pastries and some sandwiches/salads. I even saw a salmon musubi which was a bit random. A super sweet couple greeted me as I walked in. They proudly invited me to look at all their yummy food goods and they didn't hesitate to tell me I was welcome. They've been there 30 years! Places like this are the heart and soul of our country. These people are trying to live their dream. I bought some eclairs. Cheese cake. Beef pies and a ham and cheese with mushrooms croissant. I'd already blown my weekly calorie limit when they broke out the fresh made bread puddings ! Omg !! I will be back!! They do deli sandwiches. They have smoothies. Havana Smoked Salmon Salad, but make it a wrap for me. This gem never fails to sprinkle sunshine on my day -- even when I'm in foggy Colma. 2. The Reggie is their twist on a fried chicken sandwich. This is the undisputed champion in our office lunch orders. 3. Delzura Delight is the salad that magically transformed my mother into a salad person, even though she has a self diagnosed allergy to raw veggies. This salad is a game changer for her. She even requests for this on the regular. And let's not forget about the pastries. Back in the COVID chaos, I became the queen of my friend squad by gifting them individual mousse cakes from Dulzura. Was very excited to try this new place after San Mateo Moms group on Facebook recommended it. Got a Miami Cubano, Turkey Club on multigrain, and a croissant ham & cheese sandwich. Good news: the sandwiches we had were good. The cubano I imagine I'd eating fresh onsite would be 9/10 (I ate mine at home). Not so good news: it was a Saturday so was hectic. A very lovely woman (not the owner) who is there only on Saturdays was very kind and sweet but we had a few snags: original ask for mini guava and cheese empanadas was heard wrong snd was given the wrong pastries initially (I had to correct her so I was charged a bit more than was needed). I had a toddler with me so after I got my pastries, drove off and completely forgot my sandwiches! Returned 10 min later and my cubano sandwich was given away to someone else. Had to wait for another. My croissant sandwich was labeled "croissant" on wrapping but came with Dutch crunch bread. Lastly, there was an older Asian man by the name of Pablo who gave me my sandwiches and told me grumpily that next time "I should order my sandwiches with lettuce and tomato" (I had ordered the croissant with just ham and cheese and no veggies for my toddlers ON PURPOSE). I did not appreciate being chastised for how I order my food for my children. There was a nice lady who profusely apologized for Pablo and how he treated me as a customer after I told her as nicely as I could that the way he speaks to customers is not very nice. She even gave me a free fruit tart and a bag of cookies for my kids. I have a feeling Pablo is prob the same man in the first review who said he "didn't welcome people with allergies." Nevertheless, I am so excited for this business to be open! Their sandwiches were great and their spread of pastries and food looks delectable. Cannot wait to come back and try their empanadas. But be sure you steer clear of this grumpy man named Pablo who works there. He could ruin the whole experience for you. Owner: please reconsider having him work in the back away from customers.
