I stopped by HK cafe to try any of their drinks and I ordered the pompompurin and it tasted like brown sugar boba milk but a texture of an ice cream. It was good but too sweet. The service wasnt the best although it wasn't busy. There is a seating area outside of the cafe it was nice but small and was tricky to get in and out with a stroller. Maybe I will come back to try the tea room next time.

My daughter was sooooo excited when we were shopping at Valley Fair Mall and we came across the Hello Kitty Cafe...and there wasn't a super long line!!!! After looking at the menu, we ordered a Strawberry Milk, Strawberry Matcha and a giant Sugar Cookie. The whole place is so cute and pink!!! We also got cute Sanrio stickers when checking out! We'll definitely be back!

A friend took me to the tea room for my birthday. It's a full tea experience, where there is a set menu but you pick what tea you get. Everything is super kawaii Hello Kitty, down to the plates and cups. They do ask if you have allergies, but I'm not sure how much of an alternate menu they have. I got the tea that had hibiscus in it. It was very red! I enjoyed it. I also noticed that they have iced tea and lemonade options, which I think would be fun for non-tea drinkers. All the food was delicious. The egg salad cup was a standout. I thought the serving size overall was large; we took some of the desserts home. This place is really decorated for fans of Hello Kitty. It was surprisingly a little loud, and only about half of the tables were full when we went. The servers were very nice and friendly. I think this is a fun experience, particularly if you are a fan of Sanrio. It is a little pricey ($70).

Very cute Hello Kitty Cafe in Valley Fair (located on the 2nd floor next to Bloomingdale). There is usually a long line and luckily there was no line when we walked by. We decided to give it a try. Ordered th pineapple soft serve. It is very good but a little pricey for $10. (I know I can get the same soft serve for cheaper at other ice-cream places. You are paying the the Hello Kitty brand.) There is no seating inside and a few tables outside the cafe. May come back to try other items if there is no line or the line is short. If you are a Hello Kitty fan, definitely come by to check it out!

Having the Hello Kitty Cafe open at Valleyfair is genuinely genius -- it draws in people of all different backgrounds and ages, and the energy in there reflects it. As a longtime Hello Kitty fan, I'm thrilled about the Sanrio comeback, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the original flagship store makes a return someday too. Now that the hype has died down and the lines have gone with it, this place is just plain fun to visit. The merch is adorable, the cookies are adorable, and the drinks are adorable -- basically everything is cute, which is exactly the point. My daughter loves it just as much as I do, so we always leave with a Hello Kitty cookie and a Hello Kitty hot chocolate. It's become our little tradition. I'll be honest -- the food and drinks are more about the experience than the flavor. But that's not really why you're here, is it? A few practical tips: there's a cute seating area right next door with tables and chairs so you can sit and enjoy the aesthetic. And if you want the full experience, they offer high tea in a reserved room in the back -- it runs around $60/person and requires a reservation. A special occasion splurge for sure. For Hello Kitty fans, especially those with kids, this place is a must. Pure joy.

I came here for the $70 high tea experience and although service was friendly and food was visually appealing, it was lacking compared to other high tea experiences I've had in the Bay Area. Food was limited and I would have liked more savory items. I enjoyed the summer peach hot tea. Unless there will be some changes to the menu, I most likely won't return for high tea. It is upstairs near Bloomingdales and right across from Eataly. I tried to call to get better instructions on how to get there but no one picked up several times. I basically had to track the location based on Yelp photos.

We were looking at the themed water bottles. Store also sells coffee and snacks. Please come and create your own adventure.

Afternoon Tea in the Bow Room

Ugh, I've been wanting to book the afternoon tea in the bow room for the longest!!! I'm so glad they opened a Hello Kitty Cafe in the Bay! We made a reservation for a party of two on a Sunday at 3:15pm to celebrate my birthday! It's $70 per person and we paid a deposit when booking. There is a pre-set tea menu with savory and sweet snacks and your selection of one beverage; tea, lemonade, iced tea. Mimosa and champagne is also available for an extra charge. They do ask if you have any food allergies or restrictions. Ugh, everything was soooo cute!!! The servers were also very sweet and friendly. The beverage selection was a bit overwhelming for me and I didn't know what to choose! One of the servers recommended us the mango iced tea, which was actually really good! However, I wish I would've gotten a hot tea, so I could use the cute tea pot, cups, and the hello kitty shaped sugar cube lol. I didn't think the snacks would be enough to fill us up, but we ended up having to pack leftovers! We really enjoyed the savory items; my favorite was the cucumber sandwiches and the egg salad cone! Out of the sweet items, I enjoyed the strawberry tart and strawberries and chocolate whipped cream parfait; which weren't so sweet! I'd definitely like to come back and order a hot tea next time so I could use the tea set hehe. This really fulfilled my inner child!

Hello Kitty fans absolutely NEED to visit this place at least once!! This totally felt like a little girls' dream come to life. I was visiting the mall in San Jose for the first time with a friend, a few months ago, and the second I spotted the Hello Kitty Café, I got so excited and immediately wanted to go in. I've known of the Hello Kitty food truck that goes around and visits various towns here and there but those lines are atrocious. This café makes it more convenient and easier to stop by. Everything was beyond adorable, from the decor to the pastries themselves. It is a bit on the pricier side, but that's understandable considering it's a themed bakery/café, a novelty experience, and located inside the mall. Personally, I thought the experience and presentation made it worth it, and I'd gladly come back if I lived nearby. I also noticed they offer Bow Room reservations for what looked like a cute tea party experience, and now I'm dying to try that someday! The pastry I ordered was delicious, though I'll admit the flavor itself wasn't anything super unique compared to other bakeries or cafés. I think if someone isn't really into Hello Kitty or Sanrio, they may just see it as a typical café. But for fans, the whole experience and atmosphere make it feel extra special. Customer service was good too. Everyone was pleasant enough and I had no complaints. It was such a fun and cute experience!

Cute is the word that describes this place! If you like Hello Kitty, you'll love this place. It's a Hello Kitty fans paradise! They are conveniently located inside the Valley Fair mall with plenty of parking in the garage. First hour is free!

I took my five year-old niece here for her birthday I do not know who was more excited me or her! I booked a lunch in the bow room. Booking was easy and availability was great when we got there they discovered us into the room. The server was great. The items were so cute. Everything was so fun. My niece had a great time and we loved all the food and the ambience.

It was so fun being just a girl having afternoon tea in Hello Kitty's room! The Hello Kitty Cafe's bow room in Westfield Valleyfair has a full afternoon tea experience for $70 per person and even though pricey, it is a dream if you love anything cute. You get a prix fixe set with a total of 10 sweet and savory bites plus your choice of premium teas. Think hello kitty cakes, stuffed croissants, scones, chocolate mousse and more. Even the sugar and butter comes in a hello kitty shape! It's such a fun idea for a girls day, birthday or a cute catch up. They also have an Evening Delights menu starting at $30 if you just want a dessert and drink pairing. Service was great!

I ordered my treats to go but ended up trying everything in the car because I couldn't wait. SO YUMMY! Very nice workers and quick service. The strawberry tart was so delicious, I wish I got two! The sugar cookie on top was also really cute. The pearl pudding was a flan with tapioca pearls on top and I'm so glad I got it, it ended up being my favorite. The hello kitty sugar cookie was also pretty adorable and was perfectly sweet.

Parking nearby is horrendous, super busy even on the weekdays before the rush hour so I can't imagine weekends when people are out or other high traffic times. Get ready to make some rounds and pay for parking and be careful since there's very specific signage and times. The cafe itself is cute and cozy. Front area is a gift shop with lots of cat themed gifts and goodies like keychains, stickers, and such, and also some items from local and small artists too, which is neat. The cafe also has community events like movie showings ("The Cat Returns" was one of them which is a great choice) and cat yoga. If you're local, you can also get a time stamp if you are a frequent visitor. Definitely follow their socials for more information. There's reservations online and you can also do walk ins if it's not super busy. You can book for a 55 minute visit or a 30 minute visit. PRO-TIP: There's a discount for students, so if you want to be surrounded by some feline friends while you study or relax, great place to do so. You can hang your coat on the rack and there's a mini shelf area for your shoes. So you gotta walk in with socks! With each visit you can either get a hot cup of tea or a cold can or box drink from their fridge (sparking water, juices, etc.). Very refreshing and you can enjoy it in the cat area too. Sanitize your hands before and after visiting. There's lots of cats hiding around, sleeping, walking around, and some are super friendly and will go into your lap. There's toys you can play with the cats with and there's a wall of adoptable cats. Lots of seats or you can opt to sit on the floor with the cats too. There's relaxing lo-fi music throughout too. Pretty cool that they rescued 2 cats from Qatar and neat that we got to see them. As with all cats, some can be a bit spicy but it's usually just a warning teeth rub. I own cats so there's nothing new. I'm horribly allergic to the cat that specifically lives in my house, but I didn't get an allergy here, meaning that the cats are clean and well taken for. My favorite was a large sleepy orange boy, Ron (permanent non-adoptable resident) that was hanging out next to me the entire time.

Kenny and the staff are extremely kind and caring, and even when the place fills up they deliver excellent service. However, I thought the food we ordered was just ok. Ordered the #1 (Breakfast burrito), #5 (breakfast sandwich). Both items' composition was not the best. They were wrapped with the wrapping paper that didn't securely hold the entire sandwich/burrito securely. Especially for the sandwich, the cheese and meat were easily spilling out from the sides. The burrito was standard, but I felt the same way more or less regarding its structure. Additionally, the flavor was ok and good at best. The meal came with red salsas, which look to be house made since it was clear there is pickled onions and some other little things in it. Honestly it is an ok salsa, I'm not sure if this particular flavor is what I'm looking for to complement a breakfast burrito normally. We had an OK experience. The restaurant seems like a fairly small shop (run by family)! While I'm all for supporting local and mom/pop shops, I probably would not wait over 15 minutes for it. Maybe will have to try the bulgogi items next time! But for breakfast burrito/sandwich it was just ok to me.

But I have to praise that they do work fast and service is great. Indoor seating will be a tiny wait but is worth because the inside is so lovely, more like a Japanese tea room rather than some cafes that lean towards the clean modern usually all white interior look. We got seated at this cute little tea area almost felt like a sushi bar vibe. I was impressed that I could see that they had different water kettles labeled with appropriate temperatures for brewing their matcha. So I ordered for my date and me: matcha latte, matcha pie, and the cookie trio. Matcha latte was good! Nothing too crazy but still really good, I'm more of a hojicha person nowadays but solid drink and beautiful textured milk. The PIE! This is their best dessert and for good reason. Citrusy, but not terribly sweet, rich yet still has the subtle matcha flavor. I could see potential for a fall forward hojicha version of their pie one day. $10 for a slice but worth to share Cookie trio was a good pick too. My favorite was probably the Kinako oatmeal raisin cookie and I think would pair well with any warm drink. Matcha white chocolate cookie was not too bad, I think it benefited a lot from the bit of sea salt on top. The Hojicha chocolate walnut cookie was my second favorite! I don't see many hojicha desserts happening yet in matcha cafes so this cookie was a delight to have and honestly I've gotta try making my own. So warm but not too dominated by the chocolate.
