The eatery is not large, but it has comfortable high top and regular tables, cool wall art, quick service, and the ambiance was quiet and comfortable. I started with the Scallion Pie and it was very good. The dipping sauce made each bite savory and the adorned shredded veggies added to its enjoyment. Our entrees were: Steamed Chicken Dumplings. This is the first time that I had Chicken Dumplings in a delicious buttery sauce. I couldn't get enough of the sauce and it hugged every piece of dumpling that was cut and consumed. I ordered Dumpling Dojo delivery. I got the chicken wontons and general Tso's chicken bowl with brown rice. The good: everything was packaged well. The wontons were delicious and juicy and I would definitely get them again and try other ones. The general Tso's remained crispy despite the travel. The not so good: the general Tso's was very crunchy, yes, but there was way too much breading to chicken. My jaw actually ached while eating because I was doing so much hard chewing. There was no reprieve of juicy chicken. The sauce was not like any other general Tso's sauce I've had. It was very tangy and not spicy and just didn't really taste familiar. The brown rice was just not good-- it was very dry and stale and pebbly. The vegetables were actually really bad. I think there was some wilted lettuce in there? The mushrooms had a dirt taste and it just was very unpleasant. I think that I would try this again and revise my review after having more of the dumplings. The wontons were genuinely exceptional. I was kind of surprised of how vastly different of an experience I had between the two items I bought. It makes me think that the chicken might be a one-off. We'll see! read more

I didn't meet a dumpling at this place that I didn't love. I love the spicy ones the most. They have pretty good soup dumpling. But what steals the spot light here is the bao buns. Just checked Dumpling Dojo with my daughter and one of her friends. We went on a holiday Monday night at around 6:30 and had a bit of a wait for a table. They were also doing some takeout business. I deliberated between 4 and 5 stars and rounded up because our waitress Jennifer was just that good. Very personable and helpful with the menu. I could tell that there were regulars at some of the tables, on a first name basis with the staff. The decor is trendy and colorful but it's certainly a casual neighborhood vibe. To put it in context, it's not a Chinese restaurant, it's a dumplings/small plates kind of place. I definitely enjoyed the dumplings more than the soup dumplings. The flavor of the soup dumplings is solid but they felt a bit small and uniform, compared to some of the other soup dumplings I've had, the pork belly appetizer was also quite nice. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I also stole a few sesame chicken pieces from my daughter and her friend. They are really nice and crispy, with a reasonable amount of sauce. My husband mentioned this new spot that opened less than 5 minutes from our home. We ordered online and picked up our food.When we picked up the staff was very nice and quick. Inside, the restaurant has high tables and chairs and was pretty packed! It was clean and had a modern look & feel. Now, let's talk about the food. WOW! Kimchi is one of my faves and this kimchi was on point! The sauce on the dumplings and sesame chicken were perfect and not too sweet! Amazing food, everything is really good. I love the spicy ramen with the Cajun pork chop that's my favorite. The pork chop is amazing great flavor and no fat. Recently moved to NJ, we were in the area and in the mood for dumplings for lunch. We were the only ones in the place. We ordered steamed chicken dumplings, Pork soup dumplings (that's the only kind they have), and short rib buns. The dough of the buns were falling apart, tasted dried out. They were not holding anything in. We did not finish them. No flavor to the meat. The chicken dumplings had a freezer burn aftertaste to them. The soup dumplings were a bit undercooked. I felt a little sick to my stomach afterwards. We might have been some of the first customers of the day as we were there for an early lunch after an appointment. The place looked clean. The lady that was our waitress was nice. But, this is not a place that I would return to. read more

The grilled chicken was seasoned to perfection and the fried rice was delicious and some of the best I've ever had. The pork in the fried rice was so high-quality that it could have been its own dish. We also got the general tso's dumplings and they were also unreal. I'm very confused. I REALLY was looking forward to trying this place but I found this to be a big swing and miss. I'm reading the reviews and can honestly think either something seriously went wrong with my order or it was just an off night because I'd like to consider myself a pretty serious foodie. With that said, I ordered the "duck plate" for $19.99. (Pictured) When I got home, there was just a few slices of duck in a small plastic container. No rice, no veggies.... nothing. I immediately had to text this girl I work with that always goes to China Town if this was normal. She said absolutely not... $20 = half a duck, not a few slices. I'm still beside myself. Thank God, I also ordered a side of Lo Mein and I had to try the General Tso's dumpling. The Lo Mein was very bland and honestly was way over cooked. The only saving grace was that the dumplings were above average. The sauce had a nice kick to it and the chicken in the dumpling was very good. All in all, it was a very disappointing experience. I REALLY wanted to enjoy this, but I really didn't. The flavors didn't come together well and I was really left disappointed. My first clue was the overly fatty/minimal meat duck bao buns. We didn't even finish half of the serving. I hate leaving low reviews but this restaurant really left me wanting more. It says a lot when I don't want or don't want to finish leftovers. We typically order Dumpling Dojo to have at home but we have also dined in twice. It's very cute and I love the artwork and ambiance. The food is all very good and even when we order delivery, it arrives still hot and never soggy or gross. We've had dumplings, buns, bowls, and ramen. It's all delicious. This place is good! However, don't make the same mistake I did and order via delivery service...prices are inflated. I was baffled by the amount of money I spent and feeling less than full. After digging, I noticed how much lower prices on their menu were. The pork dumplings and duck buns were delicious and the sauces were on point; even the limeade was refreshing. Dumpling Dojo popped up on my Instagram feed and I love me a good dumpling so of course I had to give them a try! The short rib bao buns were hands down the star of the show. If I were to make the trip back I would order multiple orders! The dumplings were very standard and do take longer to prepare. I used to eat here several times a month with my coworkers back in 2017/18 . I haven't been back since then or since the name changed. I wanted to still like this place, but it did not live up to what I remember. When I went, there were about 4 tables filled, and the guy I assumed was the owner was running around helping everyone. Very nice and answered my questions. I ordered the pork belly baos, which were good, better with chili oil. Then I got the same meal I used to eat back in 2017, general taos chicken with ramen. The chicken did taste the same, so that's good. But the ramen... the ramen was not good. The broth had no flavor, I felt like I was eating chicken broth with noodles. And then the noodles were too thick, not what I'm used to having in other ramens. The egg inside was cold and overcooked. I also ordered a limeade, which was way more bitter than I'm used to, but someone else might like it. Positive points: The service was good, and the music was nice and catchy. I didn't absolutely love everything I ordered however I'd be interested in trying different things from the menu before making my ultimate decision. We ordered the duck bao buns and I was not a fan. My husband just got back from a business trip in China, and of all things, gave in to us wanting Ramen! Go figure. My first time here. Was really looking forward to it when I read about the dumplings. I am a dumpling fanatic. I ordered the steamed pork dumplings and the General Taos chicken plate. First the good...the chicken was amazing!! Perfectly done. So crispy. I couldn't help but eat every little chunk on the plate. The sauce was sweet and tangy. A real delight!!! I would come for the dish alone. Now the not so good (at least for me). As I said I love a good pork dumpling with a nice tangy gingery sauce and this was the reason for coming. But I was disappointed when the dumplings came out swimming in some kind of a thick sauce...like a gravy. I have never seen that before and was not expecting it. The sauce overpowered the dumpling and couldn't even taste the dipping sauce. Was disappointing because I wasn't even able to appreciate the dumpling.
