I don't know where to start. This place was a total disappointment. We ordered 3 dishes, 2 appetizers and a wonton soup. Our billed $65+ We figured why not, it will be worth it considering the reviews on Yelp but NOPE! Total waste of our hard earned money!!! The Shredded Pork with Garlic Sauce was doused in oil, the Pan fried flat noodles with beef was tasteless while the noddles were all stuck together. Wonton soup was decent but nothing special and Sweet and sour chicken was soggy and super oily. The Fried chicken wings was by far the most discussing!!!! - Deep fried hair in the batter. We got this for a child and could not even eat it (See pictures I posted!) I do NOT recommend coming here. The only good thing was the 3 egg rolls. Found a little gem! Food and service were amazing! Their lamb was flavorful and well seasoned. Wontons were soft, and the filling was great in of itself. But it was the eggplant that blew my mind. The skin was crunchy, and the inside had the right amount of chew. The sauce was thickened just a little, and neither the sweetness or the spiciness was overpowering each other. It tasted like the flavors were imbued into all the ingredients. I would take that sauce and just have it in a bowl of rice if I could! Parking is convenient, and the restaurant is about a three minute drive off the highway. Convenient for anyone who wants lunch or dinner on a trip. Bathrooms were clean too. This is a good Chinese restaurant with very friendly, quick service and ample parking. The dishes were hit and miss. Hits: spicy won ton, scallion pancakes, crab rangoon and pork fried rice. Misses for us: crispy spicy chicken (too salty), crystal shrimp dumpling (taste was off)), and the steamed bbq bun (too hard, perhaps over steamed). This spot has been our salvation during COVID-19. Since it is a bit of a drive for us, we pack a Styrofoam cooler and order ahead on our drive down to Milford. We then head several miles down the road to Silver Sands beach and have a picnic. We have done this throughout the winter even when we had to eat in the car, but now that spring is approaching, it is even more enjoyable. I have yet to find anywhere in CT that serves Suan La Fen soup. I love all of their dishes and their homemade chili oil. Their soup dumplings are the perfect size to keep popping in your mouth. It really does not get better than this at any price, and the prices are fair and reasonable on their lunch specials. Why not grab some takeout with your family and enjoy a lovely dim sum picnic? What I have found is that some dishes are bomb-diggity and some are just blah. I really love their szechuan dishes - crispy spicy chicken, anything in 'chili oil sauce', and the chicken with pickled chili. All of these dishes are priced between $11.99 to $14.99 depending on the protein. But really, they are all very authentic in taste and very generously portioned. And they are spicy!! 4.5 stars for the spicy fish fillet hot pot. The flavors are on point. Loved the spice level. My favorite part are the chili soaked cabbage and vegetables yummm. I had 2 bowls of rice with this. 5 stars for the pan fried pork dumplings. The skin was crispy. The filling was generous and flavorful. The juices flowing out from the first bite is amazing. Located in the middle of a small roadside plaza, Dumpling House is pretty good! They serve a variety of dumplings (beef, shrimp, pork, chicken, fish, vegetables) and most come in 6 pieces at $5-6 an order. The dumplings can also be pan-fried (see pictures). One of my favorites is their dumplings in a spicy and sweet sauce. Delicious! Other things that I like: 1. Kung pao chicken. Sauteed chicken with onions and bell peppers. It comes both in a non-spicy variety, and a so-spicy-my-mouth-is-on-fire-please-help choice. If you order online, there's no happy medium checkbox, lol. (But I think you can call them and tell them to hold back on the heat). 2. Cumin beef. An all-time favorite (usually I get the lamb), this dish is also spicy with tender beef strips in a stir-fried medley of vegetables. The portions are quite large and each dish comes with either white or brown rice (at no additional cost). 3. Braised pork belly. Delicious bite-sized pork belly served on a bed of bok choi. Just the right combination of sweet and savory. 4. Dan Dan noodles. Can't go wrong with this comfort food. Tasty and savory noodles with a bit of vegetable and minced pork on top. One area of concern: 5. The pork soup dumplings I ordered didn't have any soup in them! Maybe this was a mistake? Overall, the food is good and the take out service is excellent and quick. read more

I was in town for business and looking for somewhere to grab something lite before things closed up on a Tuesday night. I called at 745P and asked when the kitchen was open until and if thry were doing dine in. They said last call from the kitchen was at 830P and that it was take out only. I told them I'd call back with an order once I looked over the menu. Like I said I wasn't very hungry so I just picked a couple of what I thought were appetizers. I got a small wonton soup, BBQ pork buns, pork dumplings and veggie spring roll. It was $15 which seemed pretty cheap for dinner in Connecticut. They had my brown bag waiting for me when I got there. I grabbed it and headed back to the hotel. I didn't realize it until I unpacked everything back at the hotel but there was a lot of food. I ate 1 of the 2 pork buns, 2 of the 4 spring rolls and the wonton soup. I couldn't do any more damage, but I did eat the left overs for breakfast. I hit on 3 out of 4 so that's not bad. The only item I wouldn't order again was the spring roll. When I think of a spring roll I think of some veggies wrapped in rice paper. These were basically mini egg rolls. It's kind of hard to mess up wonton soup. The pork bun was good fresh and tasted fine after microwaving it the next morning. I ate all of the dumplings the next morning. Great experience here last night and everything we had was delicious. Decided we wanted dim sum but didn't want to drive to NY for dinner so we found this place and it was a great compromises. The pork soup dumplings weren't as full of soup as we're normally used to but still really good. The shrimp dumplings and wontons in spicy chili sauce were my favorite. I visited here for the first time on a Tuesday evening to dine in. Although not crazy busy, several other parties were there and others later arrived; the take-out area seemed to be steadily busy. I also ordered the spicy beef soup--made with noodles and bok choy. I absolutely loved the pork buns--changing my mind each time I time I took a bite as to which I preferred. I daydreamed about ordering a dozen to go so I could have them at the ready for the rest of the week (I took two from my original order home and will be back for more--oh yes). The soup broth was quite spicy when eaten alone, yet deliciously soothing. The beef was tender, noodles plentiful and perfectly cooked. The portion was so generous and filling that I took most of it home!
