My goal is to find the best Asian cuisine restaurants in Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade County since I moved to the area. This place was a bit disappointing. I have been craving good soup dumplings and I decided to give this place a try for lunch. I even took my coworker here because she hadn't tried this place before. The soup dumpling skin was too thick and the meat flavor was bland. There was some broth in the dumpling, but I did not care for it. I have tried the soup dumplings twice and it was the same each time. Some of the frozen soup dumplings I have tried at the Chinese grocery stores taste better than their soup dumplings. I also tried their lunch menu and the fried chicken wings were a little bit too dry. And the beef noodle soup tasted bland. I can make a beef noodle soup better than the ones they make. The other items on the menu include other dumpling dishes, mala dishes, fried rice, soups, noodle dishes, etc. The service was attentive when I went during lunch and it was not too busy. Some of the staff members spoke Chinese as well. The food is prepared quickly. The restaurant itself isn't big, but there is plenty of seating. Also, there is a good amount of parking in the plaza. You can order take-out here and they accept cash or credit here. This is a quick fix if you have cravings for Chinese food, but it isn't the best I have had. But for Southeast Florida, this is considered decent. read more

What in the world happened to this place?! Possibly the worst fried rice I have ever had at a restaurant. We ordered what was supposed to be pineapple chicken fried rice, but there was an EXTREMELY overpowering flavor of dried shrimp extract ....? Very strange and not good at all. The steamed dumplings were a huge disappointment as well. The dumpling skin is way too thick and the filling just slips right out in one piece. It's on the smaller side and the store is at the end of a plaza so you'd think it would be like another one of those average Chinese chains that you go to for convenience, but nope! First things first, the outside of this place looks very unassuming. That being said, once you get inside the place is great. I have to highlight their Shanghai Soup Dumplings - I'd say top 1 reason for my frequent visits, must try if you stop by. This has become one of my new favorite restaurants, you can't beat the taste and the value that you get from this establishment. Ever since I moved close to this neighborhood, I've been seeing dumpling King pop up on my feed. I'm more of a General Tao's and lo mein girl, not that I have anything against dumplings it's just not my go-to. That being said it took me a while to actually visit the establishment. The first time I went I got there honey chicken, which was okay but I'm not mad at that because it is not one of the dishes they're known for. A while later I returned and actually got some dumplings and I'm very glad I did. I got the chive, pork and shrimp steam dumplings; very good flavor and great chew on the dumpling wrapper (you have to ask for chili oil). I also tried the green onion pancake which was not the best I have had but was nice. And on my last visit I tried the fried chicken wings which were noticeably fresh. They also have boba, I'm not a big boba of person but every once in a while I do crave it. Their boba goes for about $5 which is an incredible deal, but keep in mind they do not have the popping boba. I really appreciate the fact that they have a varied menu but it is not at all overwhelming. The establishment itself is pretty simple, the few times I've walked in there for takeout I've had no desire to sit in for a meal. The restaurant is pretty small, so there was about a 15 - 20 minute wait for my party of two. Meanwhile, they had continuous customers entering to pick up to go orders. Their soup dumplings are a MUST; usually these are super hard to come by! The portion sizes are also huge for the price; a plate of dumplings could easily fill you up, even though it might be considered as an appetizer. We only ordered a few different things off the menu since we weren't too hungry - egg drop soup, fried pork dumplings, 4 pc fried chicken, steamed soup dumplings, and sour/spicy noodles. I know the maximum of the Yelp star scale is 5 but I'm gonna be a rebel and give it a 10 out of 10. Why have I been sleeping on this hidden gem for so long?? I pass this place way too many times but better late than never. The menu has so many great options but since I was rolling solo I opted for the hot and sour soup, chive, pork, and shrimp friend dumplings and a passion green boba tea to wash it down. The tea is sweet but not overwhelming to where you'd need to water it down. To me, it is just right. Good hot and sour soup is hard to find but this exceeded all expectations. It comes out piping hot so I waited to indulge. Every spoonful has the perfect kick of spice and I think it's a good starter if you aren't that hungry because it's very filling. I will definitely be ordering that again. Fair warning, the dumplings are GINORMOUS!!! I was so shocked when she brought the plate to me that I said "what!" out loud and a few people chuckled. These are definitely sharing portions or to take to the rest to go. I even asked if they had a half portion and they said no. The flavor of the chive pork and shrimp is great and you can tell they're making them fresh. The top part of the dumpling dough melts in your mouth but my favorite is the crispy bottom. Came back to Dumpling King recently and they have really stepped it up. I brought my mom who is always on the search for authentic asian food. It seems like Dumpling King has opened up a few more locations so I wanted to give this location a try again. To my surprise, the food was really good this time! Their dumplings are massive in size. The small space meant a long wait. We got there at 8 on a Friday and waited 40 min. They navigate the line efficiently though and use the yelp wait-list, so you can track your progress online. Once we were seated, they were responsive and helpful. Food highlights include the lovely brown sugar boba and the delicious fried vegetable dumplings. I would get steamed next time but they were good this way too. Based on the affordability and quality, I would totally come back here. And I read usually there are long lines so we rushed there an hour before they closed and there were no lines and they were so nice and made room for our large party.
