Here are our thoughts: XLB (5/5) - skin was thin, it was breaking bc of the aluminum cups, but you get the hang of it, I poured the soup into my spoon and added red vinegar to that, so good! We visited this location before a concert at Chase Center. The line wasn't too bad, but they wouldn't seat my party of two until my plus one arrived. The bathrooms were a little odd. There's about 5-6 individual bathrooms, but only two sinks for everyone to use outside of bathrooms. Once seated, service was a little slow to start. Dumplings came out super fast. We almost got another tables orders no less than five times. The food overall was delicious. Price point for food and drinks were great compared to inside the venue. Dumpling Time is consistently great! I've been to the Dumpling Time on Division St several times in the past couple of years. This was my first time at this location at the Chase Center, and it did not disappoint! This location felt a lot more spacious than the original. I dined here with a group of friends, so we were able to order a variety of items to share family style. We got the wood ear mushroom salad, wakame seaweed salad, shrimp toast, steamed BBQ pork bao, shrimp & pork siu mai, chili pork dumplings, garlicky green beans, edamame, xiao long bao (XLB), tom yum xiao long bao, har gow, and sticky rice lotus leaf wrap. Everything was delicious! An item that stood due to its creativity and was a pleasant surprise was the shrimp toast, which takes a traditional Chinese donut and stuffs it with shrimp. The sticky rice lotus leaf wrap was also a favorite among everyone at my table. And of course you can't go wrong with the xiao long bao and har gow, which are always my go-to items. The only thing about this place that isn't a 5/5 is the cocktail menu. I ordered the rising sun, which was just meh. My friends who got other drinks also said theirs were mediocre. After an event at Chase Center my family and I decided to go here since it is walking distance from the arena! It was packed but despite having a bigger party we got sat within 10 minutes. The staff was very understanding and graceful when our toddlers started getting out of their chairs. Service throughout our dining experience was a little spotty hence the 4 stars. Ate here before seeing the Warriors and there was a good amount of people at 4PM on a Wednesday; by the time we left around 4:45, there was a line of people waiting outside. American Wagyu Fried Rice: Really enjoyed the flavor in the dish. The wagyu is seared so it's kind of charred on the outside and tender on the inside. Chili Pork Dumplings: Not crazy spicy but had a slight Szechuan sting. I especially liked the sauce it was in. Beijing Noodles: I found this to be lacking in flavor. The sauce ratio was not good. I ended up dipping the noodles in the sauce from the dumplings. Crispy Fried Tofu: Crispy on the outside and silky on the inside. Comes with a sweet-and-sour sauce, but I preferred to dip it in soy sauce. Pork Soup Dumplings: Very dry and sticky. One of them came broken and fallen out of its dish. How are we supposed to enjoy the soup if we can't even take it out of the tray without breaking them? Tom Yum Xlb: This was good and came with less broken ones than the regular soup dumplings. Gyoza: Can't go wrong with this. I liked the crispy thing on top. Overall, I liked the vibe of this spot and it's clear that they care a lot about presentation. All of our dishes were beautiful. There was a line because it was game day, but we got seated and served relatively quick considering the crowd. The food overall was ok, I've had better dumplings for a similar price but these were still good. XLB dumplings - 3/5. I thought the soup was too hot making it difficult to eat - other soup dumplings I've had are a milder temperature so you can eat the whole thing easier. They were attentive and overall improved the experience. The atmosphere in here was also popping. Modern songs met classic takes while the dining room was clean and easy to navigate. Now, let's dive into the food. We had a large group so we ordered pretty much everything off the menu. From the baos, to the cold salads, to the shrimp toast, everything on the menu was cooked fresh to order and served hot. The flavors were on par with what you would expect, though the soup dumplings were served on small aluminum dishes making the experience harder to eat than the ding tai fung dumplings. We thought the food here was pretty decent. The only dish that was kind of a miss for us were the gan ban noodles. We ordered it based on a recommendation from a friend but we all found it to be a bit bland. The kids loved it though lol. The shrimp toast was very underwhelming. It's basically a Chinese fried doughnut stick with like very little shrimp paste smeared on the top. The Chinese fried doughnut stick was nice and crispy & went well with the aioli though. I really enjoyed the fried tofu squares, Beijing noodles (but I think it would taste even better if it were spicy), the XLBs & pork gyoza were pretty up there for me. Still love it and I even took one order of it to go. - Wagyu Beef Gyoza and Seafood Gyoza: pretty crispy bottom but I think the cover is a little bit thick. DUMPS DUMPS DUMPS! I am a sucker for a good dumpling and a good time, and I secretly wish that I lived at Chase Center, so Dumpling Time holds a special place in my heart. I'll start with cocktails. These are not sugary novelty drinks. They are well-made with some safe options, some spicy options, and some unique twists on old classics. I go for the Five-O, an Old Fashioned with Chinese five-spice, or the Rising Sun, which is a refreshing rum drink with ginger, grapefruit, and lime. Yum. The menu is not too overwhelming, which I like, but on the downside it's hard to resist just ordering one of everything. (Is that really a downside though?) If you are a soup dumpling fan, their XLB are excellent - not so hot that you're going to burn your mouth, and just the right size to eat in one bite. DO NOT MISS THE TOM YUM SOUP DUMPLINGS. Whoever came up with the idea to put tom yum in a soup dumpling is a genius. Chili pork dumplings, lamb dumplings, and chicken gyoza are some of my other go-tos. And the garlicky green beans and seared broccolini are usually a hit with even the pickiest of veggie eaters in my group. The place is huge with good music and good vibes so it's great for larger groups. Last time I went, they were playing Bay Area hip hop and R&B (Kehlani, H.E.R., Hiero) which is always much appreciated, AND it's not so loud that you can't have a conversation with your whole table, which is even more appreciated for my cranky old ears.
