The dumplings are cooked perfectly - the dough is thin and tender, and the filling is juicy and flavorful. They have an electronic system where you scan the QR code for the menu and order thru the link. Then when you are ready to pay and checkout, then you can just close it from the app and pay at the register. Very convenient. This is my husband and I's go to place for dumpling cravings. Very reasonable and fast service. The ambiance is an ordinary small place with all dishes with pictures and label. So you know what are you getting. All menu are being scanned through QR code. They give one full pitcher of water so you don't need to ask. Green beans is my favorite. Crispy and so tasty. Eat it while hot. Spare ribs with salt and pepper were crunchy but on overcooked side. We ordered dinner delivery from here recently (May 2023), and the food was not edible. Not sure if they were having an off day, or if we just ordered too late (around 8:15 pm). We had high hopes reading all the positive reviews but were really disappointed. We ordered three dishes, and they were all so bad. 1. Orange Chicken: Extremely dry little dough nuggets with barely any chicken. No sauce. Just tough & dry deep fried dough fritters. 2. Sizzling Plate Beef: This was extremely dry and almost burnt. Tasted like dry jerky meat that was a couple days old and microwaved a bunch of times. 3. Shrimp, Beef & Chicken Chow Mein: This was the only dish that didn't taste like it was heated over and over in the microwave and wasn't dried out. However, it tasted like it was cooked with old oil. You know how too much old sesame oil smells? It was that ... Just an odd overwhelming smell and no real flavor. Really? 30 min suggestion to be ready. Picked up and the XLB were neither soupy or warm/hot. What gives?!! I also specifically asked if there was soy/chili sauce/ginger. She said yes and extra. Found this little gem in my neighborhood and I'm glad I did. Their hand pulled noodle is delicious. It's got lots of garlic and also bok choy. I had high hopes for this place after my coworkers had nothing but good things to say when they had lunch here a couple of weeks ago. Let's say this time around they didn't feel the same way, and I was a bit disappointed. Let's start by saying the owners were nice and seated us pretty quickly. After looking through the menu, we asked some questions and placed our orders. I would like to note that a there are a decent number of items on the menu, but not everything is available and you can't really have your order modified to your liking. One of the first things that put us off were the cups for water looked freshly rinsed, and one of them had food particles still on it. My coworker asked for another cup, and that one was worse. Not the best impression, but whatever. The food did come out pretty fast. I ordered the fried potstickers (44A). They were plain, a bit greasy, but edible. They didn't look like the picture in the menu (see included picture of what came out). They were served with a dipping bowl of soy sauce. I was expecting way better. My other coworkers ordered the shrimp fried rice and the salt and pepper fish. They said the food was ok this time around, but was so much better the first time they were here. We enjoyed the food so much that we came back a couple of weeks later. This is a small, no frills casual restaurant, probably family owned. The food is authentic and we really enjoyed the house sweet and sour pork and Xiao Long Bao. The XLB was perfect with just the right amount of soup inside. When you arrive, you have to scan the QR code and place the order with your mobile phone. The food comes out quick and hot! The BF and I came here first thing in the morning when they opened on a Sunday I believe. We were seated right away and looked over the menu. It's nice to order dishes via their website and the kitchen gets the order ASAP so the food comes out just as fast. They have their sauces and seasonings out for their dumplings. Unfortunately, we weren't huge fans of their XLBs but the rest of the dishes we tried out were phenomenal. We want to come back and/or order to go since it's close by. read more

It's located in a big shopping plaza, the parking was plenty. The place doesn't look much from the outside nor inside. Like most Asian restaurants, they have supplies piled up in the back but visible from the dinning area. The walls have some photos mounted nicely on the wall. Dumpling Village is brand new in 2020 and opened their doors on January 1, 2020 with their grand opening January 8th 2020. My husband and I noticed their sign in mid-December so made a mental note to come in. They're located on the east side of Haven just north of Baseline, by the Ralph's gas station and right next to Waba Grill. My husband and I came in around 11:15AM on January 1st and there were already customers inside. One at a table and a couple people came in for take out orders. We ordered 2 Cokes, Pork Xiao Long Bao ($8.99), Potstickers ($7.99), Green Onion Pancake ($4.50), Sauteed Green Beans ($9.99), Crispy Walnut Shrimp ($15.99) and two bowls of rice. The portions weren't huge, but we definitely over ordered and took some of it home. They forgot our order of Xiao Long Bao, but we told them we'd still take it and they boxed it up for us. The Coke tasted a bit off; probably because their machine is still new. The Walnut Shrimp was superb. The dumplings came out super hot so be careful. The soy sauce also wasn't coming out of the bottle. With tax and tip, for 2 people we paid ~$60 which is definitely pricey. The next time we come in, we'd probably limit it to 2-3 dishes and go from there if we're still hungry. Since they weren't that busy during the time we came, customer service was good and we were helped by 3 different people. We'd definitely return to try more items. read more

This place is so good and I'm so happy that we get a little authentic Chinese northern food place near by the house. The pork scallion steam bao is 5 star, they are not juicy dumplings so the dough is fluffy. Although they are not juicy dumplings but they are still surprisingly juicy, some juice got absorbed by the fluffy bun and that's my favorite part. Clay pot chicken: 5 star, delicious and nutritious dish. The soup is steamed in a special clay pot and it contains a lot good stuff like Ginseng, red date, goji, etc. i haven't had this dish in LA yet. Lamb skewers: I cannot rate since I don't eat Lamb but my husband finished the whole thing by himself no complaints. Cold beef dish: 4 star, nice starter The place charges cheap, our check came out at $34. I do notice that the waiters do have some difficulty in English, please be patient with them and sometimes they seems less attentive with the customers and they explain to me that's because they can only speak basic english. read more

I've been looking for a dumpling place in Rancho with some quality. As we walked in, the staff spoke to us in Chinese but we didn't understand so we quickly spoke to them in English. My fiancé and I ordered a range of food, but the one I wanted to try most was the dumpling. It was pretty good quality, along with the cucumber salad. The pancake tasted fresh as if it was just made including the orange chicken. The restaurant seemed pretty small and empty, but we went shortly after it just opened in the early afternoon. I was disappointed that one of the items displayed on their wall was not on the menu because I wanted to try it. Decided to give this place a try with my kids 7y, 9y , 12y, 16y years old. Lady who greeted us were friendly and seated us right away. She explained to us how to place our order on the menu , by marking the menu using the white board marker. Here are a list of the items my kids ordered: 1- #140 beef broccoli , they liked the taste of their beef and broccoli 2-#75 yang chow fried rice - they all mentioned the fried rice tasted delicious, except the chicken is sort of dried. 3-#35 orange chicken - they can taste it's fresh ingredients used to make this (fresh orange rinds) 4-#44a potstickers - love the fresh made dough , it's thin and crunchy - not thick and chewy like most place they tried. 5-#33 pork / scallions steamed buns- this is a miss for them, they didn't like the ground meat flavor and how it smells . 6-#32 pork xiao long bao- they expressed it taste better while the bao is hot and more juice then other locations they had prior. 7-#153 crispy walnut shrimps . Portions are small for the price , but kids liked it . 8-#100 lamb soup with cooked pie. Soup with glass noodles and thinly sliced lamb , garnish with cilantro and scallions. We weren't sure what "cooked pie" was, but it's a dough dropped in the soup, taste like a dumpling gooey dough. Honestly this soup on its own have great flavors. The "cooked pie" didn't do anything to enhanced the dish. I suggest to ask the chef to omit the ""cooked pie ", if you want to give this soup a try. Sad to say they were sold out most of the dumplings we want to try. Kids wouldn't want to come back here , non of the dishes they had stand out to them. I had to order via the website via Clover which was faster than getting the cooks attention. Ordered the Pork & Chives Dumplings (10), Green Onion Pancake and Crispy Walnut Shrimp which came out to $37.91. It was enough to feed three people (it came with rice on the side). Not sure where I can find a green onion pancake to-go in this town so that was a treat and a great appetizer. The dumplings weren't as pretty as Din Tai Fung but they tasted great and the Walnut Shrimp was tastier than the one I'd get at Panda Express. I wanted to try the bao here even though it's a dumpling spot. Turns out the fried bao was delicious and the young cashier/server was very kind and helpful. We did debate about whether the menu was supposed to blink or not. The location was a lack luster suite in a shopping center. Honestly I've never seen this place and me and a friend wanted to eat dumplings I saw the pictures on your and decided to go and we had a feast we ordered at least seven or eight. Dumplings and 2 pork sandwich like buns and a meat pie as well as beef noodles honestly they were shocked by how much we ordered but we still managed to eat almost all of it. Some of the best flavored dumplings I've had I'm used to driving to Rowland Heights for dumplings but I live closer 2 Rancho so I don't think I need to drive that far any more if I have a craving. Honestly you can literally order anything on this menu and you probably you won't be disappointed 10/10 service is great definitely get the chili oil to dip everything. My family and I have ordered here at least 3 or 4 times and it's always been good and consistent. The ones who are complaining might be ordering the wrong things or simply just don't understand this type of Chinese cuisine (Chinese food is more than just orange chicken and walnut shrimp, duh). I love the vegetable dumplings, the noodles are handmade and you can taste the difference, and the xiao long baos are a favorite. I also enjoy their green onion pancake and beef roll. I'm glad that they were able to still be in business despite the pandemic and we will continue ordering from here. read more

I ordered online for pickup but their menu while etensive was quite simple in that there were no pictures to go along with their menu items. Being a visual person who chooses food based on how it looks it was more of a shot in the dark. I do like how each option you order has multiple side options, like how spicy do you want it, extre sides with it, non-GMO options, you can really customize the dish using their website. I ordered their: 1) house fried chicken wings (6.99)- there was 6 chicken wings in an order. The aroma was amazing!!! The crunch on the outside was on par. Extremely flavorful, and moist. I know they aren't known as a wing place, but I would definitely order them again, and at a little bit more than $1/piece, it really isn't that bad. 2) sweet seasame rice ball soup (6.99)- came in a regular size container, just like all their other soups. It was pretty good. Nice and hot (temp wise, not spicy wise), but it was sweet and tasted great. Great way to finish a meal, I'd like to think it was my dessert. And price-wise anything less than $10 is generally a good price. 3) Walnut shrimp (15.99)- now this was just a different variation of walnut shrimp that i've seen from Chinese restaurants. The glaze was a clear, thick sauce. But it wasen't overly salty or sweet, but it wasen't bland either, so they were able to achieve a real fine balance. 4) hunan style stir fried pork intestine (14.99)- these were the largest pieces of intestines I've ever had before. large chunks of it. And a good amount too. I got it as not spicy, but you can definitely feel the heat in the sauce it was in. So I can only imagine if you ordered it as spicy. Intestines were nice and soft, not chewy at all, cooked well. It was really good. 5) crispy pan fried noodles with seafood (10.99)- this was good too. because the seafood and the sauce was seperated from the noodles. And the noodles were originally cripsy and hard. But you pour the seafood and thick broth/sauce all over the noodles and it softens them up, but not like to a limp noodle. More all the aldente side, definitely feel the crunch. Sauce was good, longer you let it sit and soak, the more the noodles came apart, but still had a somewhat crunchy tone to it. 6) sizzling plate lamb (14.99)- lots of small peices of lamb. Cooked well, tender, amazing flavors. Well worth the price. 7) pork and shrimp as well as beef and green onion dumplings ($8.95/plate)- being known as dumpling village I was really excited to see their options and try their dumplings. They got so many options for dumplings, either pan fried, steamed or boiled. And for the price, you get about 10 per order it wasen't too bad. But they weren't anything special. It was sort of middle of the road. All the above dishes were so much better than the dumplings I ordered. just sort of bland, had to use a lot of soy sauce and other sauces to bring them to life. All that food took only about 20 minutes to prepare. When I got there, it was already waiting for me so timeframe-wise they have it down. Overall this is a really good place to have some chinese food. Total bill for 8 dishes came out to $96, which is fair. Considering the quality of the food, the amount, what we ordered, and the pandemic we're all dealing with and how everyones trying to stay afloat, I'd have no problems ordering from this place again. read more
