This place is straight out of the 1970's! The decor and equipment is the same as when they opened. It's a Chinese bowl place in an older shopping center, so really what can you expect? But - guess what ? They make Louisiana Fried Chicken! Not something I would expect here but it looked amazing. I didn't get to try it as they said they only cook it to order and it takes 20 minutes. If you're a fan of bland food, this is a place for you. I got a soft drink with my meal, a Coke, and I thought " wow, this is watered down." Then I got my order and took it home. I started eating the food, first one item, "hmmm, this is a little bland." Then the second item, "This is bland too." At this point I'm starting to think I'm losing my sense of smell and taste. Found out about this spot through one of my co workers who told me that they also serve fried chicken and fish. You don't see many places around this part of town like that, but it looks like this is a hole in the wall. Give them a little time since they make everything fresh, I usually try to call ahead when placing my order. The owner and cook are good people, she even recognizes my number when I call. Wok flavor is just so good and combination as in it has chicken, beef, shrimp, and bbq pork (cha siu) And this is coming from a Chinese man myself. Decided it was too cold and I felt too lazy to cook after getting off of work late on a Rainy day so I decided to give this place a try. I walked in and was instantly greeted by this very sweet lady. She was so kind and just had the happiest personality, even after telling me that work has been slow since the rain. She was so grateful I was there, and we had a very pleasant conversation. So I came in here and I thought it was cool that they cook the food once you order, since it hasn't just been sitting there for hours. I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately I wound not recommend. My boyfriend and I got sick from this food! Maybe an hour after he ate the food he had to immediately use the restroom and I'll just leave it at that and not give tmi. I stopped by this hidden gem of a Restaurant on my way home from work after a 12 hour shift. Oh wow am I happy I gave it a try. Don't judge the area and curbside appeal. It reminds me of some EAST COAST NYC/NJ Chinese restaurants....kinda. It's definitely a mom and pop restaurant. They are so friendly and they made some of my food fresh in no time. Some items are out on the trays like the noodles and rice but my Kung POW chicken was made to order. Let me tell you it was so delicious and I will definitely be back. Well let's say about any restaurant that has a filthy bathroom has a filthy kitchen, what to use the restroom it smelled like piss and there's no hot water and there was no soap, I'm surprised that the health department hasn't shut this place down. I did order mushroom chicken which look like it's been sitting since lunch time and it was like 8:00 p.m. on a Friday night, the egg rolls were about as cold as the cokes in the can that they sell in the cooler, this place needs to be shut down and clean with a fine tooth comb if your health inspector looking at this you need to view this place very bad or somebody's going to die of food poisoning thank God I only took two bites and looking at the reviews that I seen on here with everybody giving one star I got scared and through my food away and I was not going to ask for a refund no going to the trouble and arguing with these people these people are filthy pigs and need to be shut down shame on you guys read more

We normally go to a different Chinese takeout but we were on our way home from somewhere and decided to see if there was another place we could try. We checked reviews and decided to try Great China Express. We were very disappointed. The egg rolls were very mushy inside. The entrees we had along with the chow mein was very bland. There just wasn't any flavor to anything. The orange chicken was okay. At least you could taste the orange flavor. But the BBQ pork was fatty and flavorless. The Kung Pao Chicken had only a couple of pieces of chicken in it and the only real flavor was from the spiciness. One reason why we wanted to come here was that someone mentioned the cream cheese won tons. One order of 10 pieces is $6.99. We went ahead and ordered them but then found out they were out of cream cheese. So no won tons. Unfortunately we cannot recommend this place. read more
