We stopped here on our road trip up to Traverse City on the recommendation of a colleague and I'm so glad we did, it was delicious and the service was great. It's also so stinking cute!!! I had the fried green tomato BLT and my friend had the gumbo and the pimento cheese/chicken salad lunch plate. Everything was so yummy. The pimento cheese and crackers was probably my favorite thing. We also had the beignets and they were every bit as good as the ones I've had in New Orleans. read more

Came in on a busy Sunday morning with no reservation, and they were so accommodating and moved some seats to fit my group in. I got the Bayou Biscuit and a cup of gumbo. Both dishes were fantastic. The Bayou Biscuit was flavorful, not overly salted, and had a good helping of crawfish. The gumbo was comforting and the perfect level of spice. After having a horrible experience at Froehlichs down the street we came to Viola and absolutely glad we did. Everyone here was extremely welcoming as soon as we walked in the door. Siara was our server and she was absolutely amazing. Very attentive and made great food choices for us. Our party of 6 was extremely satisfied and felt the southern comfort hospitality. If we're ever in the area for any reason then we would definitely come back. read more

Viola's is back, but with new ownership and a new menu! Viola's now offers tasty southern cuisine in a casual homey restaurant. We tried the lunch specials and will definitely return for the reasonable prices and delicious food. The catfish was cooked just right, fried hard, with sweet moist fish inside. We also enjoyed the homemade potato salad, and fresh beignets. The servers were friendly and an added nice touch was a visit from the owner who made his way around the restaurant to welcome patrons. I would recommend stopping in for breakfast or lunch for a good meal with southern hospitality! read more

Tucked into this charming little town of three Oaks, Michigan just off of interstate Highway 94, is this new adorable café that's inspired by Southern comfort cuisine. I was with a group of seven, and then we got a wide variety of foods ranging from the pancakes, to biscuits and gravy, to the gumbo, to their version of eggs Benedict. All the ingredients were incredibly fresh and delicious, and even the owner stopped by to say hi. (Absolutely lovely man) It was very busy and there's a little bit of the way, but it's absolutely worth it and I understand why. Can't wait to return. read more

We had The Y'all-andaise (very good, comes à la carte), two pancakes (they are thick), and a side of hash brown potatoes. Really enjoyed the place, the food and the service so we'll be back. Excellent food and service. Been there twice and Viola's doesn't disappoint. Chicken pot pie with biscuit was terrific. Fried catfish was perfectly fried and not at all greasy. Our sides of beans and collards were more than tasty made according to a great recipe including ham and bacon. These folks know what they are doing. Very fair pricing too! read more

Our first time back under new owners. Loved the new decor, chairs were comfortable. Pretty simple menu with decent choices and options. I ordered the Benedict Y'all (sp) and My wife ordered the Biscuits and Gravy. The benedict came with a huge slice of ham and the sausage gravy had a good about of sausage in it. Both were very good. Anthony and Scott, the most gracious and friendly owners, exude Southern hospitality and offer delicious, gourmet comfort food, including beignets and "secret recipe" pancakes - the best we've ever tasted! We went there for breakfast this morning and was pleasantly surprised; very welcoming with all the new updated everything!! We had the Elm Street Special which is a pancake, eggs, sausage and potatoes. Everything tasted great but the pancake was thick and not fluffy at all. You had to use a knife to cut it; however it has a great flavor. Definitely will go and try something else. They will do great!! read more

Had the Rae's plate of chicken salad & pimento cheese with tomato jam...delicious and fresh! For breakfast had the Smothered & Southern biscuit and gravy. Now to talk about the food: The food is very high-quality and made with ingredients are very obviously fresh! You have to try their signature pancakes, which are thicker than two or three standard pancakes put together. Overall, I'd say the vibe in this place is cozy and it's a place. You should check out contingent you have some extra time on your hands, this is definitely not an in-and-out type of place.

When entering the restaurant we were immediately greeted by staff and were advised to grab a menu from the nearby wall. Orders are placed at the counter, food and coffee. They also provide an estimate on wait-time for coffee and food based on level of orders currently placed. We were given a buzzer and advised that our name would be called for both coffee and food. The bourbon vanilla Madagascar latte was delicious, I loved that the coffee flavor was not overpowered by homemade coffee syrup. The paninis were delicious and very filling! They come with a side salad or kettle chips.
