Cozy, friendly restaurant. Great, efficient and very friendly wait staff. The owner greeted us and was warm and friendly. We sat at the bar since the place was hopping. The atmosphere is warm, friendly and enjoyable. We both had the spinach, goat cheese omelet and loved it. Mine came with a salad and a delicious butter biscuit that tasted fresh out of the oven with batter and jam. My cousin had the same omelet with hashbrowns. We were both very happy with our meals, The owner brought us fresh beignets that were delicious .. and more food than i could possibly eat. We stopped here on our road trip up to Traverse City on the recommendation of a colleague and I'm so glad we did, it was delicious and the service was great. It's also so stinking cute!!! I had the fried green tomato BLT and my friend had the gumbo and the pimento cheese/chicken salad lunch plate. Everything was so yummy. The pimento cheese and crackers was probably my favorite thing. We also had the beignets and they were every bit as good as the ones I've had in New Orleans. read more

Viola's is back, but with new ownership and a new menu! Viola's now offers tasty southern cuisine in a casual homey restaurant. We tried the lunch specials and will definitely return for the reasonable prices and delicious food. The catfish was cooked just right, fried hard, with sweet moist fish inside. We also enjoyed the homemade potato salad, and fresh beignets. The servers were friendly and an added nice touch was a visit from the owner who made his way around the restaurant to welcome patrons. Tucked into this charming little town of three Oaks, Michigan just off of interstate Highway 94, is this new adorable café that's inspired by Southern comfort cuisine. I was with a group of seven, and then we got a wide variety of foods ranging from the pancakes, to biscuits and gravy, to the gumbo, to their version of eggs Benedict. All the ingredients were incredibly fresh and delicious, and even the owner stopped by to say hi. (Absolutely lovely man) It was very busy and there's a little bit of the way, but it's absolutely worth it and I understand why. Can't wait to return. read more

Great breakfast & lunch spot in a charming town. New ownership have updated the decor and changed the menu (southern focus). Very welcoming owner and attentive staff. We had The Y'all-andaise (very good, comes à la carte), two pancakes (they are thick), and a side of hash brown potatoes. Really enjoyed the place, the food and the service so we'll be back. One thing that seemed odd (but no big deal) is that this was the first breakfast place I've ever been to that serves eggs but doesn't offer omelets. read more

Excellent food and service. Been there twice and Viola's doesn't disappoint. Chicken pot pie with biscuit was terrific. Fried catfish was perfectly fried and not at all greasy. Our sides of beans and collards were more than tasty made according to a great recipe including ham and bacon. These folks know what they are doing. Very fair pricing too! read more

Our first time back under new owners. Loved the new decor, chairs were comfortable. Pretty simple menu with decent choices and options. I ordered the Benedict Y'all (sp) and My wife ordered the Biscuits and Gravy. The benedict came with a huge slice of ham and the sausage gravy had a good about of sausage in it. Both were very good. Anthony and Scott, the most gracious and friendly owners, exude Southern hospitality and offer delicious, gourmet comfort food, including beignets and "secret recipe" pancakes - the best we've ever tasted! We went there for breakfast this morning and was pleasantly surprised; very welcoming with all the new updated everything!! We had the Elm Street Special which is a pancake, eggs, sausage and potatoes. Everything tasted great but the pancake was thick and not fluffy at all. You had to use a knife to cut it; however it has a great flavor. Definitely will go and try something else. They will do great!! read more

Enjoyed everything about our Viola Cafe experience! So much so, we ate there twice during our weekend visit to Three Oaks. Had the Rae's plate of chicken salad & pimento cheese with tomato jam...delicious and fresh! For breakfast had the Smothered & Southern biscuit and gravy. Gravy was the best I've had...packed with sausage and flavor! Heard people talking about the banana pudding...will try that next time. read more
