We were looking for dinner Saturday night and of the limited options this place looked potentially good. I was terribly wrong. We walked in to see one other table occupied. Sure, it's the offseason, whatever. We ordered a couple of frozen drinks and the problems immediately started. The bartender used way too much ice in the blender. The drinks were obviously undrinkable but served anyway. The drinks did not melt by the time we left. Maybe the food would be good. Wrong again. The lobster in the lobster pasta was tough. I almost hope it wasn't fresh because it would have been a waste. The linguine with clams was no better. At the end of the meal my girlfriend remarked that she had never seen me not finish my dinner. We both knew why I hadn't. Awful restaurant. The owners should be ashamed.

After having my mind blown by the Everything Bagel Martini, we moved on to share the charred octopus and Leggy's Thighs. The charred octopus was tender, and paired so well with the citrus fruits on this plate, plus the bite of pistachios?! So well put together. Leggy's thighs (RIP Leggy) were literally the best chicken I'd ever had, fall off the bone tender and topped off with flavorful furikake and hot pickled fresno chilis. We also split the Wagyu sando which I'm literally still thinking about. Wagyu on milkbread?! What an excellent idea. Live acoustic music was going on the night we were here which really added to the cozy ambiance. Please Google how much waiters are paid hourly in New York State minimum. It is about 20 dollars. Only the Deep South still pay waiters a low hourly wage. After I left a tip and clearly wrote 10 dollars and clearly wrote the 170 dollar total I noticed the next day my tip was changed by staff to 29 dollars and my bill was now 190 total. I called the next day and said there was a mistake and I was accidentally overcharged. I gave the staff all the grace in the world. I was then asked if there was a problem with the service after giving 10 dollars!! These obnoxious, smug thieves were caught red handed and could not just refund my 19 dollars without first asking why I ONLY tipped 10. I was going to do a police report so it was good they at least credited back my 19 dollars they stole after I caught them. I wish I did not even leave a ten dollar tip. Waiters in New York make at least 20 an hour. You do not owe them another 20 percent. Btw they made my tip 20 percent AFTER taxes were included. I would eat here again tbh but I will pay in cash the next time. Don't use credit cards with these gonifs.

My bouillabaisse, comprised of a large lobster tail, clams, mussels, and white fish, was well spiced with a saffron-based broth and served up with butter-slathered toast to mop it all up. Yummy! Partner's lobster rigatoni was made with plenty of fresh lobster meat and a well flavored creamy sauce. He said it was filling and delicious. We understand that accidents can happen, but what was unacceptable was how the situation was handled afterward. The restaurant team did not immediately acknowledge the seriousness of what happened or show the level of concern you would expect after guests were burned by hot coffee. We waited approximately 15 minutes before the manager finally came to our table to acknowledge the incident. Even then, rather than immediately apologizing and taking responsibility for what had happened, she stated that she would "see" whether there would be a discount. After two guests were physically burned, we expected much more urgency, compassion, and professionalism from management. The entire experience--from not being welcomed or greeted, to the unusually slow service in a nearly empty restaurant, to the dismissive response after two members of our party were burned--left our group feeling extremely uncomfortable. Given the way we were treated, we also could not help but question whether racial bias may have played a role in our experience. We cannot speak to anyone's intentions, but the treatment we received left us feeling unwelcome and unfairly treated. What was supposed to be a special bachelorette celebration unfortunately became a very upsetting and disappointing experience. Guest safety should always be a priority, and when an accident involving hot coffee occurs, the immediate concern should be for the people who were injured--not whether management might offer a discount. We left feeling disrespected and deeply disappointed by the lack of urgency, accountability, and compassion shown by both the staff and management.
