    First and foremost the location is absolutely amazing. You're literally minutes from the beach and that's walking.... Quick last minute trip up the coast and this place popped up. It's pet friendly which was nice. Affordable fee added for pets. The rates were good so it was a win win. You're hesitant to book something when there's not many review to go by. Well, we gave it a shot. The property isn't that big. Two building, one where the check in office is and another behind. Parking on site which makes it great. Right when we checked in, which we were able to check in early. The receptionist was a major doll. Very friendly and so sweet. Makes it more relaxed and easy to ask questions if needed. We were in the second building upstairs. Pretty much every room was occupied as it was the Fourth of July weekend. She mentioned that it had been renovated recently. First impression, for the price it was good. 2 queen bed with a tables and chairs for sitting. There's also a mini fridge and microwave in the room. Also a good amount of towels. It was actually pretty decent in size which our room was a connecting to next door. Even though it was somewhat renovated, there was still things that could have been updated. If you needed housekeeping, just let front desk know. The bed was actually quite comfortable. Location wise, it's off highway 1. It's probably 15 min from the 101. There's a Mexican restaurant literally across the street and liquor store next door. A park area about 2 minutes walk from the hotel if you have pet. Downtown Pismo was about a 10 minute drive. But the beach, literally down the street and you're on the sand. Downfall, the walls are pretty thin. We could hear the next door room talking and could tell you what they're watching just by hearing everything. Besides that, this place is great with location. Pricewise was very affordable and it's close to things. Front desk was the sweetest. Even our little fur ball Freddie Mercury was a hit. Would I stay here again, yes.

    This is a clean hotel with an excellent a/c which you can control in the room. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would have liked to have a location for my wife to put her makeup on but she made due with a table. The location is awesome as there is a diner, a mexican restaurant, and the beach nearby. We definitely recommend this hotel and will be staying there again.

    We checked into the Pacific Plaza Resort on Easter Sunday and checked on Wednesday (3 nights, April…read more9-12, 2023). We had booked 2 units (509 and 604). I my 2 boys and I stayed in 509 and my parents and sister stayed in 604. Each unit was a 1 bedroom condo with a couch that pulls out into a full sized bed (sheets and blanket are rolled up and kept in a garbage bag on the top shelf in the closet) in the living room and a full kitchen (pot, pan, plates and utensils for 4, also dish soap, sponge and dish drying rack, no dishwasher). Bathrooms include 4 bath towels, 2 hand and 2 face towels and also comes with shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Location is great! It is located Pier Avenue (off of Hwy 1) and Air Park Dr in Oceano. It is directly across the street from the Oceano/Pismo State Beach Campground and Oceano Dunes Visitor's Center. We booked this place on Expedia, but you can book through various other hotel sites. It is a 5-7 minute walk to the Oceano beach and ATV rental facilities for the Oceano Sand Dunes, so if you are looking to play at the dunes, you can't beat this location! It is less than a 10 minute drive to downtown Pismo Beach and the Pismo Beach Pier. This resort is unique in that each unit is individually owned by someone (owners are only allowed to stay here for 88 days/year, no weekend or holidays, rent it out the rest of the time), so each unit is decorated differently and interior upkeep is done mainly by the owner as well. Therefore some units may be more remodeled or older than others. The on-site rental management office closes by 9pm, so if you are arriving later, then contact the office to make arrangements. Unit 509: located on the second floor and faces the parking lot and rental office. From the upstairs balcony, you can see the Elk's Lodge RV Parking and distantly behind would be the the Oceano Sand Dunes Beach, but it is blocked by the RV's and other buildings. Overall the interior is in decent condition, but the front door and jamb needs paint. The baseboards in the bathroom needs paint and caulking as the water tends to splash out after showering. The carpet in the bedroom is starting to wear and should be replaced soon. There are double sinks in the bathroom, so it makes getting ready in the morning routine and for bed easy. The first step of the stairs that leads up to the unit is a nailed price of wooden board versus concrete/stucco like the other steps. The best thing about this unit is the beach house theme decor which was very cute. The worst thing about this unit is that the wifi sucks inside and most of the time it doesn't work despite it showing 2-3 bars of signal. On the bed in the bedroom the wifi works a half the time, but nowhere else unless you are standing next to the front door or sitting outside in the balcony. Unit 604: located on the first floor facing Air Park Dr. Fortunately that road is not traveled on much so it is not noisy. This unit does not have any carpet, just laminate throughout. There is also only 1 sink in the bathroom and there are no towel holder for the hand towel. Upkeep in this unit is slightly better than the unit 509 that I was in, but the toilet flush lever did snap on the last night there (had a crack in it on arrival). The worst part of this room is that it is on the first floor, so you can hear the person walking around upstairs. The best part of this unit is that the wifi works great throughout the unit, so my kids wanted to spend more time in this unit while we're were there. Overall, this is a great place to stay due to the location, but also for the space and convenience of having a full kitchen. Not sure about during peak season, but for the time we went for Easter break for the kids, we paid less around $380 for 3 nights on 509 (basic condo) and around $418 for unit 604 (premium condo). I'm not really sure the difference between the basic and premium units as each one has its own plus and minuses. My pictures are from unit 509 that I stayed in.

The Seacrest Ocean Front hotel is an absolute gem. From making the reservations over the phone to check in, the customer service was great. This hotel is very well kept and has free parking. However it does share with a restaurant at the entrance of the driveway so it can get full at times. Luckily, we were always able to find a place after coming back from a day of exploring. Beds were comfortable and the deck was perfect. We even had a seagull perched on the ledge on our last day. But let's talk about the view. It was absolutely STUNNING and worth every penny. This hotel does not have an on-site restaurant or bar, but you can get room service from the restaurant at the top of the parking lot. They also have a a bartender working outside of the lobby and she was so nice! Friendly and funny and just a great attitude. They offer $10 towards room service or drinks daily, which was nice and parking is free! The grounds are manicured beautifully and they have a pool and two hot tubs which were always in use. They also have several lawn games and direct access to the beach. I've never felt sand so soft under my toes. Next time we'll bring our beach chairs and make a full beach day of it. I absolutely loved this hotel and will definitely be coming back.

Unfortunately, our stay was filled with several maintenance and service issues. The elevator felt unsafe, the doors opened before the elevator had fully reached the floor, which was concerning. About an hour after checking in, we went to the pool. There was only one other guest there, but the towel rack was completely empty. Thankfully, we had brought our own towels. A staff member later came out to restock them. The pool itself was okay, although there were quite a few bugs in the water. The jacuzzi looked like it needed maintenance or a fresh coat of paint because it appeared greenish-brown, and there were no umbrellas or shade available around the pool. When we returned to our room, our key card had stopped working. We had to call the front desk from my personal phone, and a staff member kindly brought us a new key. We appreciated his prompt help. However, after returning from dinner later that evening, our key card stopped working again. The room also needed better upkeep. The shower tub had visible stains that made it appear unclean. The ice machine on our floor was out of service, so we had to go to the lobby for ice. We also noticed curtain rods left on the floor, which made the hallway look unfinished and poorly maintained. The staff members we interacted with were courteous and helpful, especially the employee who restocked the pool towels and assisted us with our room keys. However, the number of maintenance issues and inconveniences made this stay disappointing. For the price we paid, we expected a much better experience. Unfortunately, we ran into several issues during our stay that made it difficult to feel the value matched the cost. While there were aspects that were disappointing, we did appreciate being able to check out late, and the pet-friendly accommodations were a definite plus. Those conveniences were helpful, but overall, the number of issues we encountered outweighed the positives.

Putting down a towel helps, but it's something to be aware of. The hotel also has a small convenience shop in the lobby with snacks, drinks, and essentials like headache medicine. It isn't a huge selection, but with so many stores nearby, it wasn't an issue. They offer on site parking for a fee, which was convenient, and one of my favorite features was the rooftop area it's a great place to relax, eat, and enjoy the atmosphere. The main thing is a complete lack of accountability and zero effort to remedy the situation. Here's what happened.. I stayed here with a friend and we were super excited because it was our first trip together and our dogs were joining. We knew that we didn't want to swim in the ocean on this trip, so the MOST important factor in choosing this hotel was the ability to let our dogs in the pool area (not IN the pool of course, but just inside the gated area, like by our lounge chairs). In fact, this was the ONLY REASON we chose this hotel over another hotel that was otherwise objectively better. We confirmed TWICE with Hilton that dogs were allowed in the gated pool area. First we called, and there was a tough accent to understand but they said dogs were allowed if they wore diapers (???). We called a second time to make sure we heard correctly - a different person picked up and yes dogs are allowed in the gated pool area, no diaper necessary. For both of these calls, we called the phone number on the Hilton website, on the page for this *specific location* (not the general corporate number, obviously). So *surprise surprise* when we arrive, exhausted from hours of driving, the front desk tells us that that information was not correct. NO dogs allowed in the gated pool area. ALSO dogs are not allowed alone in the rooms, so basically there was no way for us to use the pool since we couldn't keep the dogs in the room (alone) nor the pool area with us. No apology, barely sympathetic, and zero offer to compensate us in any way or anything complementary as a good faith gesture. I'm furious at this point, so we go to the front desk again. We explain the situation (I think to the manager at this point?) in detail. She said that we didn't call the direct line to the hotel, that I guess that line was to the broader Hilton brand (like a call center?), and we should've done that to get the correct answer. She made it seem like it was *our fault* rather than what was obviously their fault. Because according to her, essentially we should've known that: a) the phone number listed FOR THAT LOCATION, ON THE OFFICIAL HILTON WEBSITE was NOT the direct line b) we should've gone on a wild goose chase for that actual direct number c) we should've known to not believe what two separate official Hilton employees told us was a lie. Excuse me.....?????? I reiterate, this was literally the ONLY REASON we chose this hotel. At this point I'm so frustrated because we are so far beyond the original issue. Ok I get that dogs aren't allowed in the area (I'm not challenging the policy, and I never did). I even can understand that SOMEHOW we should've been mind readers and known to not trust the phone number on the official site and to not trust anyone who speaks to us on that line. But for the manager to not apologize, to barely show compassion, to make it seem like it's our fault, to take ZERO accountability for the ridiculous situation, and on top of that, not even offer us a discount or like a free drink because god forbid they spend $5 on us - THATS what I take issue with. I mean I take issue with it all, but extremely basic hospitality would've at least made us feel a tiny bit better about it. Wild. She also didn't seem to grasp any of this. She kept saying that it's the official policy that dogs can't go in the area, but at that point I was explaining how I'm taking issue with how she was handling the whole situation. I never expected them to bend the dog policy - I get they have no control over that. We keep talking past each other. We ended up calling the front desk later and explaining how the situation didn't sit well with us for all of the reasons above, and now directly ask if there's anything they could do to make it up to us, like a complimentary drink or breakfast. Again, this was the only reason we chose this hotel!! Our trip CENTERED ON CHOOSING THIS HOTEL. In the end they gave us a measly amount of points, which went to my friend who booked the trip, I got nothing, and that was that. So here's my takeaway: if you have any sort of issue come up, you can expect them to show no sympathy, take ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY, and take no steps to remedy the situation or give a half hearted complementary gesture. I should've known to not trust a mega chain that doesn't give a crap about their obvious error. They have your payment already, so why should they?? My eyes are rolling out of my head.
