The hotel is "charming" which if you have ever looked for a house means tiny. The air conditioner beeped about once every three minutes with a loud chirp that kept us up all night. The tv in the bedroom was about the size of my monitor on my computer. Traffic could be heard from the room on the street outside all night. There was no dresser or closet. I was very pleased with this newly remodeled hotel. They have a unique retro decor and everything is new. I had to get use to doing g everything online, checking but the staff was readily available and helped me through the process. I'm use to the old way of checking in but this was pretty kool! The bed was very comfortable and the hotel is located right in the center of several restaurants and a short walk to the beach, well medium walk to the beach. First time going to this resort since we have been a member. Everything was immaculate. Customer service was amazing. Jesus was very helping and he and his father in law Jesse take very good care of the property. I highly recommend if you haven't been here to go. Yes it is a smaller resort park but it was well worth the trip. We will definitely be going there more. By the way the do have grills tables and chairs. They have a laundry facility on site and a restroom and shower as well as a jacuzzi. The website doesn't have the extras included on their. OK so a five sounds strong, so I will tell you why. Value: If I stayed at a local hotel on the beach 425.00 a night, here is just a fraction. Cleanliness: not bad, it's literally a 1/4 mile from the beach and a family use bungalow. It has sand in cracks if you look hard. Also floor vents are starting to rust a little. (Again it's on the beach). Privacy: hotel can't compare. Each bungalow is like it's own separated tiny house. Service: nope no room service, basically it's your little private house on the beach. Staff: very friendly. Something broke or broken they fix it. No complaints, not a hotel. Just a nice cheap walking distance to beach bungalow. We loved it. FYI, I think Jesus, greeted us at sign in late at night. He was very nice, you will like him. read more

All around great experience, you can tell there constantly doing minor upgrades and maintenance to keep things up.

We booked a week in April and loved it. They are individual cottages of varying sizes with a small, semi stocked kitchen, sleeping area, bathroom and a bbq. I won't lie, there is lots of sand and salt water does take its toll but remember, you're at the beach. Literally a 2 minute walk and your toes are in the sand. We took our children and grandchildren we have been trying to get in here for 3 years we finally got in we spent a weekend during Memorial Day it was wonderful management on the site was great he checked us in showed us everything in the cabin told us what restaurants was nearby we went over and watch the dunes as they were racing over at the beach at night we seen people having bond fires on the beach the cabin was very nice when it was time to check out they went over the cabin the manager approved stated he didn't even look like no one stayed in there we all laughed we told him we enjoyed our stay we will definitely be back we really liked it even it took us 3 years to get in!!!! We were here summer of 2021 for vacation. Don't let their website photos fool you. Their cottages are really dirty inside. They are not properly cleaned, and they charge us a $50 dollar cleaning fee. What are we paying $50 bucks for when the inside looks like this. You are pretty much on your own there is no assistance, you see the staff when you check in and that is it. They should be in there deep cleaning the cottages. read more

The cottages are very outdated--from the Formica countertops to the neck-freezing pull out couches. I've been a member at a different location for 8 months. This is my first visit to Pismo and they didn't tell me that "studio cabins" don't have an actual bed. I was thinking a one-room with a Murphy bed but no, it's an 80's pull out couch. I still can't turn my neck. I thought a hot shower would help but the hot ran out while I rinsed my hair. Add into it barking chihuahua dogs in the cabin next door and the screaming baby in the cabin behind and it was not the quiet, relaxing, getaway I was sold on. The cabins come with two place settings and some cooking utensils but no sheets or towels. I remembered the towels but didn't bring sheets and wasn't about to test the couch with a black light so $75 at Walmart later I had a bad night Sm sleeSkip this location and maybe even the membership.
