We stayed her before when the kids were litle and now a new name. Room was supposed to be 2 queens and 1 king and instead if was one king and one queen. The girls were not happy but we made it work. They were sold out so we couldn't change rooms. The rooms are pretty spacious for a family. The beds are a little soft on the edges fyi. The bathrooms were not that big and the girls bathroom it flooded since the showerhead hit the edge and bouncing hitting water on the floor. They should have a different head so it doesn't do that. Girls room was super cold and never warmed up while our room was fine. The room was updated but just some cheap finishes that could be nicer. We stayed in the Courtyard and easy access to the car and games area. I noticed the playground was gone and was a bummer. For breakfast you have to cross the bridge and go to the other hotel to eat. It was a bit crowded in the morning. Food was decent with waffles you can make yourself, chicken sausage, bacon, oatmeal, fruit, eggs, toast, and bagels. The pool was nice and now 2 heated pools you can use and they have pool towels and a hot tub. The beach is about 10 minutes away and you have to walk down some steep stairs but not bad. I love the suites so we would stay again but probably go mid week so prices are lower. read more

Great location, warm and friendly staff, and a good breakfast. The main issue we experienced was with the beds. They were uncomfortable because the mattresses seemed to sag in certain areas, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep. Also, if you're staying on the first floor, be aware that sound insulation isn't great. You can easily hear people walking in the unit above, and even toilet flushing is quite noticeable. If you're sensitive to noise, it's something to keep in mind. On the positive side, the heated pool was fantastic and fun for both kids and adults. They also have a nice hot tub, which was a great way to relax after a long day. read more

My family and I have stayed here at least a dozen times, back when it was still Pismo Lighthouse Suites. We have so many great memories here, so we were excited to come back after the renovation. The rooms look beautiful, and the updated decor is a big improvement. Everything feels fresh and modern. But at the same time, it feels like the hotel lost the warm, family-friendly feeling it used to have. The biggest change for us was breakfast. We really miss the old breakfast buffet. Now it's more like a marketplace, and you have to walk across to another area to eat. It also gets very crowded because it's shared with other hotels. It feels like the hotel is focusing more on generating revenue than creating a great experience for families. I understand it's a business, but the family atmosphere is what made us keep coming back. Another thing we noticed was the shampoo and conditioner. Both my daughter and I had our eyes burn while using them, and we ended up rinsing them out right away and using our own shampoo instead. It may just be the products they use, but I wanted to mention it in case others have had the same experience. I was also sad to see that the playground is gone. That was one of the things our family loved most, and it made the hotel feel like a place designed for kids and parents to enjoy together. Overall, the renovations are beautiful, but I hope the hotel brings back some of the family charm that made Pismo Lighthouse Suites such a special place for us. read more

Stayed here last year when it was still the Pismo Lighthouse and it was excellent, great staff, great rooms, and that cliffside view is hard to beat. Came back this year and found out the property changed hands and merged with the hotel next door into "Pacific Point Resort." Mixed bag. The room itself is genuinely nice. Renovations are quality, not the cheap kind. Two issues though: the in-room safe wasn't installed correctly so it doesn't work, and the AC is weak and seems to shut off at night, like there's a motion sensor killing it when you're asleep. Annoying, but not a dealbreaker. The real problem was the front desk. The agent who checked us in both times had dark hair and tattoos on her fingers, in case management wants to know who I'm referring to. At check-in she barely acknowledged us, no greeting, just "last name?" while typing, then silence. She told us our room was at the second building next door but couldn't explain how to get there without me asking a bunch of follow-up questions. Turns out you have to exit the property and walk through their parking lot to get to it. If they're not going to physically connect the two buildings, they at least need to explain it clearly at check-in, because otherwise you'll keep getting reviews like this one. My wife asked a housekeeper for one extra towel since we only had three for a family of four. The housekeeper flatly said no. My wife laughed thinking she was joking, she wasn't. When my wife explained we had two kids and needed one more, the housekeeper said "they don't give us many," like that was our problem to solve. She did eventually hand one over. Second night, I went to ask about extending our stay and got the same dark haired agent again, same routine, no eye contact, "last name?", then "I don't have your reservation," even though I was already checked in. When I asked to add a night, she immediately said they were fully booked. I checked Expedia right there and saw four rooms available, then checked the hotel's own site and it let me book directly. So she just didn't want to deal with converting an Expedia booking into a direct one. I've worked in hospitality management so I know that's extra work for front desk staff, but that's not a guest's problem either. At that point I was so fed up with her attitude that I decided I'd rather pack up and move to another hotel for the last night than give this property another dollar. On our last night we also found ants in the room. Didn't bother reporting it, honestly. At that point I'd rather deal with ants than risk running into that same agent again and having her ruin what was left of the stay. Nobody told us breakfast times or location, or really anything about the property, at check-in. This is a $500 a night hotel with a jaw dropping view and beautifully renovated rooms, undercut by front desk service that feels like an afterthought. Whoever bought this property spent real money on the rooms, they need to spend some on training the people guests actually interact with, because that's what people will remember. We won't be back, which is a shame, since the location itself is great. We'll just book one of the hotels down the road next time. read more

Great check in process, lovely lobby really nice breakfast included. Opening day for the onsight store /cafe which was great! Very good coffee drinks and quiche hit the spot. Unfortunately for the Resort at 10:45 pm a large leak began from the room above us into our bathroom so we had to be moved. The guest above us would not let the maintenance crew into their room to investigate where problem was coming from. The hotel was so great about promptly relocating us to another room for the night! Rooms were nice but the horrible smell all around the resort was unbearable ....it was so bad my daughter and wife had headaches the whole time. What a disappointment this place was. How are they charging people 400$ + a night for staying here knowing how bad it smells. There are a ton of pelicans that poop on the surrounding cliffs and it makes the smell UNBEARABLE. We left immediately and booked the SeaCrest resort a couple of resort down. Seriously they should be issuing refunds to people. read more

We stayed two weeks ago and appreciate the hotel honoring our rate from earlier this year when they had to reschedule due to the renovation. The newly remodeled rooms are beautiful. The location is fantastic, but everything else was really bad. Customer Service: The front desk service was severely lacking. I called several times on our way to ask for early check-in and the only time I was able to speak to someone, he said he was the only person there and he couldn't do anything about it. I finally checked in at 7 PM. And I waited 15 minutes for the clerk to get off the phone with someone who was making reservations in September. Breakfast: was horrible two hotels sharing one breakfast room. It was filthy and crowded. The food was picked over. People were crowding in line and I ended up getting food poisoning. I suggest management stop trying to save money and improve their customer service and hotel amenities. I would've been really upset how I paid the published $500 a night rate. But it wasn't even worth a 275 a night that I paid. read more

We come here for our kids to have a good time and we like being at the beach. We deal with the super soft beds, throwing our backs out for the kids. Then they take all the kids stuff out including the play area. Pretty much ruined the hotel and the only reason to come here. They used to have a decent breakfast as well and now going to the shore cliff it looks like someone threw up. This will be our last time staying here. Pacific point is ruining this hotel and my advice is to look elsewhere. You can find better for cheaper. I did not need to pay extra for a $15 Tetris game, $30 corn hole, and a couple ping pong tables. read more

Came here for a long weekend and it's a great place to stay! Plenty of parking, and you can park very close to your room, however only two electric charging stations. Wish there was more. You can bring your pets, and they let you borrow a blanket, a water and food bowl and a nice bag of treats! Our room, which was a family room with two separate rooms was closest to the freeway so a bit loud. Breakfast is very good, and there's a beautiful walk in the back that connects several hotels near the beach. If you need two separate rooms and have a dog, a great place to stay! read more

Unfortunately, our stay at the Pismo Lighthouse Suites was extremely disappointing and absolutely not worth the price. To start, I booked two rooms under one reservation--one for my husband and me and one for my in-laws. My in-laws arrived before us and were told by the receptionist that only one room was booked and that the hotel was fully booked, so they could not check in. When my in-laws asked if there was another guest with the same last name, the receptionist said no. They immediately called me, and when I spoke to her directly, she suddenly found our reservation right away. Despite this, she was rude and unhelpful and still would not allow my in-laws to check into our room. This property is overpriced for the experience. Upon arrival, we found hair on the bathroom floor, which immediately raised concerns about cleanliness. The pool is extremely small, and there were no clean towels available all weekend. We tried calling the front desk multiple times to ask about renting beach chairs--no answer. I called eight times in a row before walking down to the front desk, where I found the receptionist sitting there on his cell phone. There is no beach access, which was very disappointing. The so-called "kids play area" is completely run down and poorly maintained--furniture scattered everywhere, ping pong tables split in half, paddles thrown around. It looks nothing like what is shown online. The hotel is also extremely loud. You can hear people walking next door, above you, and all around--there is virtually no soundproofing. To top it off, our heater went out on the first night. Maintenance came at 9:00 pm and told us there was nothing they could do and no room available to move us to. Between the poor service, lack of cleanliness, misleading amenities, and constant noise, this hotel is simply not worth the price. This will be the last time I ever stay here, and I would not recommend this property to families or anyone looking for a relaxing or comfortable stay. read more

Road trip with our 3 year old toddler. We wanted a place that was a short drive away from the Bay Area for a quick get-a-way. My husband picked this hotel because it is very family friendly and I do agree. I believe all the rooms are suites - ours came with two rooms - one bed in the living room and two other beds in the back. There are two restrooms with bathtub style which we really appreciated as our toddler doesn't take showers. Two sinks and two hair dryers. Mini-fridge. It can be loud with a bunch of other families surrounding you. They have complimentary breakfast. This is our first stay with complimentary breakfast and I have to say it is a game changer with a child. Cereal, pastries, waffles, bagels, eggs, sausage, oatmeal, yogurt, tamales, fruit, etc. There are indoor and outdoor seating. Unfortunately, it was a bit foggy and cold during our short trip otherwise we should have checked out the pool (supposedly heated) and the hot tub. Short walk for beach access. You can get beach towels by the pool. We did rent a beach chair. In their emails and promotional info they said we can rent beach toys. Due to this we didn't bring our own. You need to purchase from their store. The family deck area was the reason we made reservations here - they have a small play structure, badminton, connect four, mini golf, etc. Our toddler had a blast running around. Very clean. Plenty of parking but $15/night. Overall, great stay and we will stay here again next time we come to Pismo. read more

Beautiful hotel. Breakfast; amazing. There were altered food options, from potatoes, bacon, eggs to the omelette, and a waffle machine that makes 4 small ones. Our room was small but cozy, two beds, one separated from the main living room and the other bed in the main room, with a small microwave and fridge, accommodated by a small table for two enjoy dinner. The beds were like clouds, and the room service was great. Props to the hotel and its staff! The courtroom can also entertain your kids for a while, with ping pong, tennis, a chess/checkers board, and a small minigolf course. There was also walkways to the beach behind the pool(heated) when walking to the left, or if you went to the right, you would find a gazebo to watch the baby seagulls live, and we also came around to seeing a bunny! 5/5 stars!!! We had a wonderful stay at Pismo Lighthouse. The suite was positively lovely. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Our partial ocean view was great and we loved our balcony. The staff was awesome and very helpful. The only drawback for us was the active children in the suite above us. This hotel is really great for families. We booked a partial ocean view 2 rooms suite 1 king, 2 queens with individual bathrooms for each room. Our room number was 2106. Personally, I don't think the partial ocean view is worth the extra money. The view from inside the room looking outside is that of the parking lot and wall of another hotel. You literally have to step outside into the balcony and turn left standing to get a distant view of the ocean water. You do not get a view sitting down on the patio chair. You will face the patio railing blocking any view. You have to stand the whole time looking at gray water. Also, you don't get to see the actual coastal view with sand and waves at all. Either splurge for full ocean front rooms or just get the patio view one. Check my photos out to get an idea of what I'm talking about. The plus about this room is that the bedrooms are separated with locking doors for privacy. There's also a fridge and microwave which is a must for traveling families with children. Someone's always hungry, thirsty or have leftover foods from lunch/dinners. They also have a great outdoor play area for the kids with a play structure, ping pong table, badminton court, giant chess board, giant connect fours game, Hopscotch etc. Mattress was okay. The noise level was definitely on the higher side. They provide ear plugs so that tells you a little bit about noise in this hotel. So if you're a super light sleeper this hotel will not be a good choice for you. Our family did okay here and would most likely come here again if we come with other families because of their fun outdoor activities amenities. They also have a pool and hot tub. There is a staircase used by all the adjacent hotels to access the beach as well. Kids would enjoy the beach at this location because there's a large Boulder and tide pools with warmer water for little ones. read more

This used to be such a good place for families. Now it's run down and they are doing renovations but unfortunately didn't let anyone know about them. I booked an ocean front family pet friendly suite and once I got to the hotel they told me my room was no longer available since the renovations and they had booked me a "courtyard view" room. I didn't pay any less and they promised me I would have a space to take my dog out to go to the restroom even though the green patches they have was inside the renovation area. Unfortunately the stairs were unavailable to me and my pet so I had to carry him in elevator because he was terrified of it once we made it to the green area there's was broken glass everywhere from the renovation. There was no communication that my room would've changed, no play deck would be available, and breakfast would be at the hotel next door which is so uncomfortable. I've stayed here for family vacations for 6 years and might have to start looking for a new place unfortunately. Wish that wasn't the case. read more

The checkin experience was the most horrific I have ever experienced. I come to the front desk and there is one young lady who doesn't even acknowledge me and then when I say "hi" she tells me to give her a moment....i stand there waiting for like 5-10 minutes because she's doing some type of data entry or admin work??! (Can't that wait??!!) Then, she tells me to pay so I do and proceeds to say "you had 2 reservations right" and I'm flabbergasted cuz I have no idea what the heck she's talking about... Then she tells me that she had me pay for the room of someone with my same last name.... *roll eyes* I'm like WTF. I just gave u my ID and u can't even double check the last name and first name???!? My last name isn't common but it's not so crazy unique that you should automatically assume both are my reservation.... Then she tells me she can't fix this and she'll call me back once she talks to her manager but they I'll have to come back to pay for my room and they'll reverse the charges for the other guy's room... Then 20 min later she calls me and says everything is fixed and they charged me for my room and that I won't even see the charge for the other guy on my CC statement... Then after I hung up I check my statement and now there are TWO charges.... WTF kind of scam are they running here??! read more

Nice location and the suites look very nice as the interiors were remodeled but the flooring/ceiling space in between floors is still so thin you can constantly hear footsteps and talking from the unit above you. A great place to stay if you are in the top floor. I would avoid if you are a lite sleeper or if you are going to spend a lot of time inside the room - we had mentioned to the manager but never heard back from them so it must be a regular complaint of the property. As when we called the front desk they responded that they would tell the unit above to be quieter which made the visit even more uncomfortable which was nice that the noise was then less but I don't even think the people above us knew that we could hear everything from them below. The place is overpriced for this. Looks great, great interiors, great view, friendly staff and plenty of parking, amenities etc but it is not a three or four star suite hotel that it advertises and charges high rates for. read more

First we really loved this place, It is so family friendly! We came to stay for a a few days with grandpa for an early summer vacation. We got the two room suite with one room with a king and the other with two queens. It was nice to have a door to close off the bedrooms together and we really loved that there was a bathroom in each room, so we didn't have to share. The room with a king did have the only bathtub which was a bummer cause my youngest prefers that over a shower. The rooms were really spacious, we had four of us in the two queen room and it wasn't cramped at all. The queen room doesn't have a closet but the king does. I do wish that the table with two chairs that was in the king room was set for at least four people but we made it work. Now, I know this hotel is high in price (we paid $234 a night before tax which is a good deal) and we really looked for a deal, cause I am not sure I'd pay the high summer prices . I will say the amenities and staff really make the price more worth it if you are traveling with family and aren't just there for the beach. Highlights was Kaylee at the front desk! She was amazing and so kind. She made checkin a breeze and she was working most of our stay, so anytime we went in the front she was super helpful . The only downside I would say was the breakfast. Ok, ok, I know it's free and shouldn't complain but I am not a fan of having to ask staff to plate up my food for one. The options was ok with eggs, bacon or sausage on different days, waffles, burritos, cereal, bagels, toast and yogurt but the scrambled eggs I think were made from powder and the hard boiled eggs had a weird taste, plus they were warm . The burrito they offered was one of those frozen bean and cheese burritos and it was not good. The only pastries offered was a blueberry muffin (which was so stale and just felt old) and a croissant that was prepackaged too(no fresh either). The property offers free parking, free breakfast and a fun play ground area(with games for little kids to adults). The office has games and movies to can check out (summer time they do a movie night outside for all to watch on Saturday) . There is even a little library box if you forget to bring a book for the beach. The pool isn't huge but has a great view of the ocean and a decent size hot tub put it does close at 9pm and you will need a key to get in . The have towels at the pool for you to use. If you have an electric car I did see only two charging stations. There also is a walk way that's by the pool and it takes you down to some stairs that goes to the beach. We also liked this hotel for the location, it was a little over half a mile to the main pimso area and close to the dinosaur park. read more

We usually stay at Spyglass but, given these large family size rooms, we thought that we would give this place a try. The beautiful rooms did not disappoint! We had a great time and a lovely oceanfront view. Overall, these are my thoughts on this property: Pros: -Beautifully decorated and well maintained rooms. -Very Spacious rooms, perfect for a family! TWO bathrooms in our suite! - Awesome views although we paid a premium for our ocean front suite. -Great play area for kids and nice walking trails out front. Cons: - We paid over $500/night yet they charged us for a bottle water left in our suite. Really? Our suite in Carmel-by-the-Sea was less and two complimentary waters included. They should do the same! Especially for people like us, paying a premium. - TINY hot tub! We went down to enjoy it yet it was FILLED to the max with a huge party. They had glass wine glasses & glass wine bottles IN the tub. Shouldn't people at the property be keeping an eye for this kind of thing? When I mentioned this to the front desk, the guy said you should have called us. Then proceeded to charge me for the $5 water in the room. - While the playground & ping pong table was nice The badminton court seems like a total waste of space. Who plays badminton and plays it decently? AND the life size chess too!! Not opposed to coming back but hopefully management takes some of my feedback into consideration. read more

Pismo Lighthouse Suites was our destination of choice for our first family road trip to Pismo Beach. ROOM: We booked the Premium Suite 1 Bedroom King Oceanfront view. Our spacious room was on the 3rd floor facing west with an oceanfront view. There were 2 beds: 1 king bed and pull -out couch in the living room and a total of 2 full bathrooms (shower and bathtub). There is a kitchenet and a small patio to step out with a small table and 2 chairs for relaxation. Our toddler had his own space to play, run around, and sleep in a travel crib. One thing to be aware is, the AC return is in the bedroom, so it was loud to sleep to. I am a light sleeper so that didn't help. Although, the property offers ear plugs so must be something someone else has given feedback or complained about. There was also an incident with the alarm clock in the living room where we setup our toddler to sleep in his crib. I suggest housekeeping to clean and check alarm clocks, so it doesn't randomly go off in the early hours. Good thing my toddler was able to sleep through it. Phew! FOOD: There is a small shop at the front office with candy, ice cream, and basic beach essentials. Complimentary coffee and tea are available at the front office too. The complimentary breakfast is served at The Gally in the mornings. The continental breakfast varieties are waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, bagels, fruits, oatmeal, yogurt, and beverages: coffee and tea, milk, water, and juices. There are tables indoors and outdoors. PROPERTY/ AMENITIES: There is a big open deck right outside the front office for kids and families to play. The playground offers life size chess, checkers, connect four, badminton, ping pong, mini golf, a slide/ playground structure. There is a pool and a hot tub which we didn't get to use but looked was very busy in the afternoon we arrived and morning after. On the west side of the property there is a shared path along all hotel properties that leads to the beach. It's about a 15-20 minute walk. This reminded me a lot like Hawaii. It's awesome to have that, so there is no need to drive around and battle for parking. On the 3rd floor near the elevator landing, there was a swarm of flies at sunset. I wonder if the property has maintenance crew out on schedule to check or routinely take out the garbage, but I didn't see anyone. SERVICE: The service is fine and friendly. We got there around 3:15 pm and had to wait until closer to 4 pm to get our room keys. PARKING: There is covered and open parking available on site for a charge of $15/ night. I overheard this is a new thing since the change in management at the beginning of the year. A returning family seemed bummed, sadly. Overall, a roomy stay with everything we needed. I will say the rooms are outdated and the carpet feels grimy and clammy/ moist. Other than that, it was great. I do recommend bringing indoor slippers to avoid dirty feet or socks. Good thing I am used to bringing inside slippers when I travel! I do wonder if there is anything the property can offer since I'm sure many guests go to the beach and get back into the room and trek back sand. I know this is beach city, but it was frustrating in the evening to walk around our room after showering and my husband's feet and toddler's socks were dirty. We do hope to come back and spend more time here! read more

This is an unusual review. We booked a suite through Expedia for my wife and I along with my 96-year old dad. The morning we were to leave, he fell ill. Unfortunately our cancelation option ended the night before. I called the hotel and since it was through an on-line booking, they couldn't do anything. We contacted Expedia and they got in touch with the hotel manager who agreed to refund our money. They were under no obligation to do that, but they did. We were so appreciative and will definitely book a room there in the future. Also my dad recovered so that was the best news of all. There's an excellent playground, a nice heated pool, and also an ocean view pretty much everywhere you look. Our suite room was great, housekeeping was kind and came every day, and there's no shortage of things to do on this property. My rating is more of a 3.5. This is the perfect hotel for families. The little activity area was so nice to have. It's a great walk to downtown or to the beach. The rooms were clean, albeit in need of some updates. The breakfast was ok, it was edible. The biggest con was that the water from faucets in the sinks and bathtubs smelled like mildew. My kids even noticed. I did not feel like we should drink the water. They comped the resort fee when I mentioned this at checkout so that was nice, but seems like a bigger / more concerning issue. Service at the desk was really friendly. We will stay here again for sure because of it being perfect for kids but the water situation was really off putting. read more

If you can, book the suite with ocean front view!! So so worth it. My boyfriend and I got the last King suite ocean front view over Thanksgiving, and we were pleasantly surprised. It is huge because it has a living room and the separate bedroom. There is a door in the hallway that separates the rooms in case you have more than two people staying in your room. There are also two full bathrooms. There was a tub, but.... let's be honest who takes baths at public hotels. I wish the chairs were tall like bar stools so that when you sit outside in the deck your eyes can have an obstructed ocean view. I understand it would be a liability issue. The towels were clean, and the whole room was spotless when we opened the door for the first time. The heating and cooling system worked well and water pressure was great. The breakfast was also good. I really liked the wafffles because they were fluffy and moldy sweet. The coffee was strong. Only downside was they ran out of forks each morning because of lots of hotel guests at one time. They refilled them but it was a frequent guess if we had to wait or not when we went to get breakfast. There was ample sitting indoor and outdoor for breakfast. Personally, the egg and meat buffet section could possibly be swapped for the location of the juice and bagel because there was always high demand for the egg and meat. It's in the corner so it gets cramped fast. There isn't a lot of space inside so understandable but just something I noticed. Parking was also easy first come first serve, and also luck of the draw if you wanted a spot closest to your room. It was $15 a day extra using QR code. Anyways, would recommend. We were able to visit Solvang and Hearst castle because of the fairly straightforward drive from the hotel. On another note, if you do not like crowds, avoiding Solvang might be better for you. Apparently it's always busy, but over the holiday it was shoulder to shoulder. read more

Every year we drive up to Pismo Beach and stay in this hotel. We always stay in building 3, which are suites overlooking the ocean. The views are amazing. Room 3210 is handicap accessible, and the first floor has fenced in patios that are popular for dog owners. The rooms have a master suite with bathroom, and a living room with another bathroom and wet bar. The rooms include breakfast, which is typical fare for this kind of hotel, not bad, but nothing special either. The hotel includes a large game area that is popular for the kids. We love the beach in Pismo, they are wide, flat and clean. Be warned, they charge for parking, something that has recently been done. Makes you feel like you are being nickel and dimed to death. Otherwise, a nice stay. read more

This is a GREAT place to stay. It is kid friendly, but also pet friendly and has rooms that face the ocean with a nice grassy area for the dogs. The people at the front desk were very courteous and helpful. If there was anything out of the ordinary at the hotel, guests were informed right away. Complimentary breakfast was nice. Free Parking. You can also walk downtown to the shops/ restaurants and Pismo Pier. It is only about a 20 min walk. Just over 1 mile. Area was great. Restaurants within a 10 minute walk on either side of the hotel. Our room had 2 bathrooms which was a very nice surprise. The hotel also had E bikes to rent. Although I ended up renting an E Bike downtown, it was nice to know that the hotel offered that as well. My first time staying here as my family is growing need more space so pulled the trigger and booked a room for my birthday weekend. Rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable not to firm and not to soft. The tub / shower combos have a big sitting edge around them. They have a court yard with a playground, huge chess / checker board and huge pieces, ping pong tables, little putting green, bat mitten court. They also have a couple bikes you can rent to ride down into downtown Pismo, it's literally right around the corner. There Pool is on the side of the property so you can see the ocean as your swimming or relaxing by the pool. Plus they gave me a free ice cream for it being my birthday. Only negative thing I can say was the complimentary breakfast could be improved some. We weren't to fond of the dry egg patty or the dry chicken tamale. Definitely would not mind staying here again read more

We love this hotel. When you have a kid like us it's the perfect place to stay in Pismo. This was our second time staying here and we will be baagain soon with a new guest if we can snag a good deal on a ocean view room. The breakfast is delicious , the chicken tamales are good. read more

Recently stayed here for a few days while visiting SLO. I was hesitant at first due to it being a family resort with kids running everywhere. Although there were quite a few loud kids playing in the activity area, it wasn't too bad. Upon checking in they have freshly baked complimentary cookies and coffee which were delicious. Front desk staff was friendly. We booked the 2 bedroom suite and was well worth it. There was enough space and privacy for my wife and I in one room and our older son in the second bedroom. If you get an ocean front suite you may not get the noise of playing children. The complimentary breakfast was decent. And access to the beach was a plus. Overall, this was a great find and would stay here again! read more

Pismo Lighthouse Suites is an amazing hotel for families. Their family suite-style rooms are a lifesaver. Let me tell you why I enjoyed my time with PLS. 1. Book directly through their site and before you do that, sign up for their emails. Wait about 20 mins for their promo code. It is the cheapest rate compared to anything listed on Kayak. It is super affordable this way. 2. There is a play area specifically for kids with a spongey foam floor. Check out the photos on their websites. 3. The view! OMG! I can't believe I can just walk out and see the beautiful view. 4. The trail to the stairs to get down to the beach is very close. 5. Included breakfast from 7am to 10am 6. Heated POOL 7. Their small gift shop area is filled with stuff you actually need when you forget things at home like goggles. 8. ALL their suite-style rooms have 2 full bathrooms. 9. There is a door that can be shut to separate the two rooms if needed. 10. Wifi is included 11. Mini fridge and microwave 12. 24/7 Coffee and Hot Coco in the lobby area 13. Free parking. 14. Comfy beds. 15. Very convenient location to drive downtown. 16. The staff is friendly and amazing. 17. A balcony to soak up the nice ocean breeze. 18. Pros: Perfect location, walking to the beach and dinosaur park (15-20 min) Heated pool with a view of the ocean Friendly staff Cookies and coffee at the front desk Amazing playground structure on the property, great if you have kids Free parking Spacious rooms/suites Cons: Breakfast was ok, nothing great. Chrome cast on TV didn't work and they have limited stations so I was google I got my iPad to watch hbo or Netflix in the night It's pricy especially for holiday weekends Overall, I loved staying here and am already planning another trip in the summer. Stayed for two nights, 9/1/20 & 9/2/20, yes, during Covid. Everyone working there was very nice and always wearing masks. They had hand sanitizer set up in different locations too. Our room was 2 queens with two bathrooms which was very nice. Cute place overlooking the ocean. A million pelicans around so if you love pelicans, this place is for you! There's a huge play area for the kids (or adults) that the 4 year old with us loved! They are dog friendly. $50 a night. It's on a hotel row so about 6 hotels in a row and a couple with restaurants. You have to drive if you want to be near the pier and the main strip. I've got zero complaints. :) read more

We just spent a long weekend here and LOVED it! I was worried about the noise as other Yelpers complained but it wasn't bad. Yes we heard our neighbors from time to time, but it wasn't "they're in the same room as us" bad. Due to COVID, daily housekeeping is not available but you can easily contact the front office for supplies. Daily breakfast was not just your basic continental breakfast. Tamales, breakfast sausage, waffles, eggs, fruit and more! Plus coffee, tea and hot water is available all day in the lobby. Individually wrapped cookies are also available in the afternoons which my kids and nieces enjoyed! The hotel is dog and kid friendly which our 2 dogs and 3 kids loved. Our dog friendly suite had an ocean view and patio with access to grass and a walking path. Dogs are not allowed in the pool area, which is small, or playground but there are tables nearby both areas. The hotel is just a 3minute walk to the stairs which gives you Beach access! It's also a 15min walk or quick jog to downtown, pier, etc. read more

So I was here on work. Lucky for me, I was put in the best hotel in Pismo beach. First impressions, AMAZING! They have all these extra curricular activities for the family. Playground, giant connect four, badminton, merry go-round, giant checkers/chess. Did I mention cookies and coffee in the lobby? These yummies for free. Check in was fast. I was greeted by a super duper lady. My room was not ready but I had co-workers at the pool. The super duper hostess provided me a pool key. I think I was at the pool for less than an hour when I got the call my room was ready. Time to check out the room. My room was breathtaking. I had my own room with full bathroom and shower. Then there was a living room with pull out couch, microwave, mini fridge, dining table and full bathroom with stand up shower. This is what I call a suite. It's gets better, I have a balcony with a full view of the ocean. Is this even real? This hotel provides free hot breakfast which included eggs, sausages, waffles and get this tamales. One would say hotel tamales would suck but I think my Aunt Maria was in the back making these beauties because they were GOOD! To access the beach, you walk the path that takes you along all the hotels and to a stairway that leads to the beach. A short walk will take you to all the shops and the pier. Let's talk about the staff. Everyone and I mean everyone were awesome. I have nothing but good stuff to say about the staff. Everyone was friendly and nice. There pool was heated and decently sized. The hot tub was a wee bit small. This place also has rental bikes and boards games to make it a fun family night. I am serious when I say I can't say enough about this place. Look at the pictures. Highly recommend this establishment. Wonderful activities for kids along with free breakfast and parking was a plus. The 2 bedroom 2 bath unit was plenty spacious for our family of 5. Came complete with mini fridge and microwave. Kids enjoyed pool & spa even with the cold temps outside. A quick walk across the parking lot leads you to the cliff at the edge of the ocean with beautiful views and a walking trail. Front desk were very friendly and provided free coffee/tea/hot chocolate and cookies all day. Ice cream, treats, wine, beer and other beach goodies available for purchase in the office as well. Easy walk to the beach and even the pier. Room was clean and well equipped, we look forward to visiting again in the future. read more

After covid my husband was really hesitant to stay in hotels for awhile. He was really nervous about the cleanliness of the place and our kids getting sick. I was talking to a family member about it and she suggested this hotel. So we took a chance and it met our expectations. We were both really happy with how well they clean everything here. On our last visit we witnessed them bringing out the games and wiping everything down. I've also saw them wipe down the elevators. Our rooms are always clean and very spacious. My boys love the amenities here. Free hot chocolate and cookies daily. They have a play area with a slide for the toddlers. For the bigger kids at heart they have cornhole, chess, ping pong and connect four. There is also a little swimming pool that is heated. I like that the swimming area stays open pretty late too. They have breakfast which consists of the basics like oatmeal, bagels, eggs, waffles, bacon and sausage. One time they had tamales and they actually weren't bad at all. My reason for 4 stars instead of 5 because my room on the last visit was to noisy. We usually get an ocean view. Which consists of a living room and its own separate bedroom. These rooms are really spacious and the best in my opinion. This last stay we were towards the back of the hotel and we could hear the cars driving by at night. I did not like it at all and the room felt smaller. On the brighter side this hotel does offer perks if you are celebrating a birthday. For my son's birthday they gave him a complimentary kids bag. Inside was a bunch of goodies like candy, sunglasses, beach ball, toys and a free ice cream. He really loved it. A great hotel for families and not to far from the pier. read more
