While you're waiting at the sign it could be 5 minutes or more and three people who were in line behind you have already received their order and left by now. Mind you, nothing in my morning order takes too long to prepare (iced coffee, occasionally avocado toast or a donut). This can be especially frustrating. I will add that there is one very nice lady who usually works weekday mornings. Had a pretty thick coating of glaze, but it needed it because the donut was so thick. Please see photo. The other doughnut was something called Butter Nutter or something and looked like a Butterfinger was smashed and put over the top of the donut. See photo. I worried that the super thick glazed donut was going to be raw because it was so enormous, but it was cooked well enough where it was fine. It's sort of a skin on it like a bagel. Tasted really good. The other doughnut was super super sweet like sugar on top of sugar. I wouldn't have normally ordered it, but they were out of everything else that I normally would order. Good but too sweet for me. Again it was fried crispy, which is how I liked donuts. The ambience is what you would expect in an old donut shop... comfortably worn... I live in TN, but when I'm visiting family, I make the trip to Stoughton for these. Today I brought my kids to experience them. The Bismarck is the best donut I've had anywhere. Always fresh and amazing. Also I paid $7 for 6 donuts.... I'm not sure how they stay in business with those prices. Truly the best donut shop.
