When Starbucks changed to a more standard uniform chain style of restaurant, the vibe changed. The product remained of quality but the atmosphere definitely changed to a more pay and leave establishment versus pull up a chair and stay awhile. I missed that until I started frequenting the location in Somerset. While the decor is still standard, the staff always make you feel welcome and are very friendly. They never rush you out and make exactly what you order. I went today and I was undecided as to what I wanted. I wanted something frozen but I cannot have sugar or regular milk so that is a challenge. The barista, who was the manager, was more than happy to make me something custom that she created. I had an almost sugar free vanilla & strawberry frozen drink with unsweetened oat milk. The strawberries had a small amount of sugar within my allowable grams. It was exactly what I wanted and I thought it was super kind of her to go above and beyond to make me something not on the menu. I think the staff makes this location. Many times I have seen them be kind, dedicated and fun! My drinks are always exactly what I expect. If it's hot coffee, then it's hot! If it's a cold beverage it's just as good. It's perhaps a tad too small inside, but that's what makes it a nook. Lots of hot and iced coffee options, food is quality over quantity: get their signature cheese or linguica roll as-is or "leveled up" to make it an egg sandwich because it's the best around.
