I can tell this is a special place to locals in the area. I saw a flyer on the wall for an event being hosted there showing that this is more than just a cafe - it's a place where the community gathers. I took a chance, and it absolutely paid off. The conchas (and other treats) were incredible. Everything was fresh and exactly what I needed for my work event. The service was accommodating, friendly, and efficient, which made what could have been a crazy morning better. This is officially my new go-to bakery. The Danish are big, very generous on filling and really good; usually Danishes have slightly stale corners and these don't. In addition to the standard flavors, they had a couple of artisanal-ish doughnuts up front: we tried the orange glaze which appeared to have bits of orange zest in it. Very tasty but could have used more glaze. Some of the doughnuts were chewier than we would have liked (a chocolate cake doughnut should be tender; a few weren't). And the chocolate doughnuts are more sweet than chocolate; if you really want CHOCOLATE, you'll want to get the chocolate with chocolate glaze. Props for the Bavarian cream; it was a good size and had a good ratio of filling. Well executed, good texture. Overall, at least as good as Dunkin; better coffee than Dunkin; cute and local but probably not someplace you'd make a special trip.
