This is a terrific DD. The staff is always friendly and focused on getting your order right. I really like the updated breakfast menu - several offerings are super tasty - especially the brown sugar maple bacon sandwich. This store invested in upgrades over the summer - I am always blown away when I walk in - so light and "fun" - plus, this store has the nitro taps! Only downside is not the store's fault - patrons can enter off 41 or from the east (Walmart parking lot), and the "easters" feel that they should be able to merge in front of patrons who've been in the drive-thru queue. Yep petty, but it can get "testy". Anyway - this is great store to start your day or refresh your afternoon/evening. read more

So when you order online ten minutes ahead of time, you get there and you have to wait 20ish minutes in a drive thru line to pick up your order, now everything is cold. read more

Could not wait in the "mile" long drive thu so submitted for a refund only to have some guy (owner or manager) call me and begin to chastise me over the phone telling me about his staffing issues. Hard to believe, but this location just gets worse. When you order something other than a donut you really don't know what you will recieve on any given day. For instance...order a frozen coffee. It will have a different consistency and texture every time you order one. One day you may get liquid, like a glass of chocolate milk. The next day you will be handed a cup of ice fragments, like a snow cone. Next time you'll get something more akin to a milkshake. Color one day will be lite, next day dark. One day will be sweet, next time barely has any flavor. This location's Quality control sucks! My wife likes Cold Brew Mocha with Cold Foam, no cream or sugar. This is an iced drink by default. When ordering they ask if you want iced or hot. I would estimate, at minimum, 50% of the time they make it without the foam and then you have to deal with the very off-putting and seemingly incompetent manager lady who insists that they made it correct and we ordered it wrong as she storms off to add a bit of foam to it and swap out the lid before she returns to hand the cup back to you, dripping wet with overflow running down the side of the cup then slamming the window after she hands it thru to you. It's just always a very unpleasant and contentious experience when you have to deal with this woman. We order snackin bacon for the dog...sometimes we get a bunch of broken pieces and crumbs stuffed full in the bag...or next time get 8 half pieces then question them as to why there hardly isn't any bacon in the bag today. Then you get the bacon guy who storms over with his argument: "we put 8 pieces in each bag, Sir, and that is all you are supposed to get!" Last I checked 8 half pieces equals 4? This is simply a ridiculously ran operation over there on franklin street. read more

I came into this location and waited 10 minutes at the counter before a girl told me that I'd have to wait because they were "busy". I understand that if you are busy you try your best to help customers, but this girl and others were checking their phones while waiting for the coffee to come out of the machines. This isn't what was most disturbing though, the practices of how they handled food was nothing short of unsanitary. No gloves for anything and the girl was stirring everyone's drinks with the same spoon. That could be catastrophic for someone with allergies. Considering she was gloveless and tapping away on her cell phone, she was extremely unprofessional on top of being unsafe and unsanitary with how she was handling peoples drinks and food! I'm not one to leave bad reviews because I like to commend people's efforts. I'm hope that this does not go on every day, but I really am worried about the health concerns here. read more

Go to this Dunkin' almost everyday. I mostly get the blueberry matcha latte, if u haven't had it's a must. And once every few days I'll get a donut. Most of the time the donuts taste fresh but whenever I get the chocolate frosted donut it always taste a day old overall love the drinks and the staff are really nice, most of the time.. there is always the same girl at the window every day, she is always so nice when talking orders and cashing me out is wish I knew her name but love her! real queen!!! They hired a few new people or maybe they don't work that much but I'm always really friendly when speaking to staff I know how rude customers can be I've worked if fast food before. But this one girl was being very rude to me and wasn't friendly at all if that was my first time going there I would not have come back but it was just I one time thing and I know people have there bad days. read more

I am an avid DD customer. I hate starbucks coffee its just not the same as DD coffee and DD donuts are what you want with a great cup of coffee. Well today i went to this location in Michigan City and received poor customer service. Asked about the cake donuts and asked were they fresh. Worker stated we bake our donuts fresh every day. Yes you have to bake donuts fresh everyday but do you bake them or are they baked at a warehouse in illinois as I have a cousin that works for DD warehouse and the donuts are shipped daily but again my question was never answered on top of attitude. The term 'shit show' comes to mind about this particular DD. Without fail they can NEVER make a iced coffee without it tasting extremely watered down and even shaken or stirred the sugar never does any trick to take out the blandness. They also seem to always come up short on most of the selections and last, but certainly not least. Stale, stale, stale! Those donuts are supposed to be served fresh every half hour or so. I was heading back to Chicago with a 2 Hour drive ahead of me and wanted a good cup of coffee. I stopped in to this Dunkin, service was quick however, I didn't check my coffee until I got onto the expressway and started heading home. I took my first sip I realized they did not put the extra cream in the coffee so I was stuck with a Black coffee. I turned around and headed back to get what I ordered. When I pull up to the drive-through window, the manager took care of me. I said this coffee is missing cream. I was already on the expressway. I had to turn around and come back. He took my cup of coffee and said he would Just put cream in there, I said no please make me a new cup of coffee. He said well there's nothing wrong with this one. I said yes, there is you did not make it correct the first time he continue to fuss about it, and then made me the correct cup of coffee. I said if this was Starbucks, there would be no question they would take the cup, toss it out and make a brand new one for me. No questions asked at Starbucks. As I was telling him that he close the window and walked away. Had he just offered me a new fresh cuppa coffee and said sorry for your convenience sir I would've been OK with that. However, he did not even apologize for their mistake and me having to turn around almost 5 miles away, it seems petty of me to do this but when you sell coffee and there's no line or rush of people at the facility just me at a drive-through and they screwed it up. They need to be called out on it. Again they offer no apology, and wanted to give me my old cup of coffee and just add cream. I hope that Manager learns from this experience and how to treat people. He was so concerned about saving that medium cup of coffee. read more

This Donuts is on the mail Michigan City strip closest to I-94. It's a convenient stop to and from the Hampton Inn and other motels. Drive-thru and inside service is available and I'm pleased that the respective traffic patterns can be separated. I'm past the donut phase these days, but the toasted bagel and creme cheese option is pretty good. The service during my visits was OK. read more

I called ahead after traveling back to Michigan from Chicago because by the time we would have arrived they would be closed and I needed coffee. This DD is terrible. The service took way too long and the order was screwed up twice, and before it was even finished, got "lost". We had to reorder or food, and when it finally got to us after 10 additional minutes, it was incorrect and poorly made as if the workers just threw it in the bag. Very upset, would recommend finding a different Dunkin' Donuts or going to this one, prepared to spend 15 minutes on food that's different than what you ordered. read more

This Dunkin' is the absolute worst. They are the slowest and you will wait in line for 10+ minutes almost every time. My boyfriend and I went through the drive thru for iced coffee and we placed our order waited 10 minutes in line just to get up to window to pay to be told they were out of iced coffee. I am trying this DD after going to the one in Chesterton for 10 years. Their service has become a joke. Very slow even though they know my order and I use the mobile app at times. Told me I had to wait my turn my mobile order was 4th in line behind those that had ordered and paid - what did they think my mobile order was. I have not had much luck at the Michigan City location but going to give them a chance - this morning was okay, sandwich was good, not hot but good, figured I could warm it in the Microwave. Coffee tasted a bit old and did not taste my french vanilla flavor. Hoping we will get there. I go everyday before work 5 days a week. I agree that the attitude in Michigan City can be less than desirable but give a positive attitude and mostly you will get one back. I used to go on Saturdays before my part time job and was not always pleased but hoping if I go regularly the experience will get better. read more
