On weekends, I always come here with my friends for brunch and order, ' make your own omelette' for ($8) - includes 3 toppings, cheese, toast and HOME FRIES(yum...)/fruit bowl. Hearty meal at a reasonable price. Service is excellent and the ambience is cozy. Also, the cheese pizza is good and cheap. One omelet with an extra order of toast that never came. My breakfast was supposed to be $14.99. Eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, ham and homefries. A lot for $14.99. I asked for all bacon instead of the ham and sausage. The waitress said well that's a waste, I can do it different. Ok. Our meals came. My scrambled eggs reminded me of scrambled eggs at a buffet. The pancakes had a hard top. Butter melted but not into the pancake. Syrup didn't soak into it either. Do the cook them ahead and reheat on the griddle? Idk but my breakfast was warm not hot by any means. The best part of the breakfast was the juice. Then came the check which my boyfriend grabbed and just handed her his card. $57 for breakfast. $67 with a tip. Sad to say we won't be back. Ingas it is

That said, the ice cream is nice... But expensive, with small portions...the premium they charge doesn't cover what they don't give you. It is hard to put my finger on it... But something just feels off here.

She explained the flavors and answered our questions. Unfortunately she was also degraded, demeaned, and micromanaged by the owner the entire time. The owner yelled at her upon our arrival and told her to "look busy" even though she was clearly about to serve us. The owner then made fun of her for saying the wrong term when asking if we wanted our ice cream in a cone or cup and humiliated her. It was so hard to watch and the environment was so hostile because of the owner. When we asked if they accepted tips, the owner was extremely rude and condescending toward us, saying they did not accept them. Lastly, when the poor girl was handing me the chance, the owner was forcing her to count out every coin and then counting over her. It was so odd. I will never go back and I will be sharing this experience with every friend and family member I know. Let this be a lesson to the owner to treat people, especially her employees, with KINDNESS.

It's cute inside and the service was friendly and informative. They let me know that EVERYTHING, even the puff pastry is made in house!!! Very impressive! I bought a couple glazed donuts to make up for the horrible pastry and donuts that I had this week from elsewhere. I'm so glad I did because they were fresh made and moist and the glaze was still wet! If nothing else they made was good, I would go back just for the glazed donuts! But everything is great so let's keep chatting! I originally decided to drive there to get the cinnamon bread that I remember as a kid. Unfortunately they were sold out. But they did have what they called Easter bread, which is s rich egg loaf, similar to Challah with red and golden raisins in it and the dough is lemon flavored. I bought a loaf of that and brought it home and made epic French toast with it! I highly suggest you do the same! I also tried their spinach pastry and "pizza" pastry, delicious! All the dough here just melts in your mouth without leaving a leathery film on your tongue which means it's real pastry made with butter! I have thus resigned myself to the fact that I will be gaining weight soon due to the frequency in which I plan to keep visiting this place haha!

I read MANY blogs, yelp reviews, and social media updates to compile the list of places to check out, and I was surprised that a little spot I had never heard of before called Schuyler Bakery continued to pop up in my research. I knew we needed to make it one of the stops on the donut tour, and it was 100% the right decision. These donuts were out of this world delicious. The exact right texture and mouthfeel I personally want out of a donut. Sweet, but not too sweet that you can't enjoy every last morsel. I also loved the variety available... maybe 10 different donuts all together at the after-lunch part of the day, all classics and nothing dripping in over-frosted goo or crazy toppings. These are the donuts that donuts are named after. We will definitely travel out to Watervliet to visit the small, old school vibes kinda bakery for a dozen or so of these again. A++.
