Mostly a drive thru spot but there are a few seats on the patio. When I stopped by there were only two people working inside so service was slow. If a car places a large order then you're going to have to wait even if you order in person. As for the donuts itself, it would've tasted better if it was fresh out of the oven warm but overall I still enjoyed it. Taking a bite I can appreciate that there's still an outer crunch and it wasn't dry at all. Flavor was good. Overall, really enjoyed Fred's. It's an unsuspecting location (legitimately a little hut off of Rte 23A). The drinks were really good (I've tried the chai latte and the Nutella latte), and the donuts were good, but not the best. The apple cider was hands down delicious, but the chocolate glazed somewhat congealed, making it really sticky and difficult to eat. I'd recommend checking it out, but recommend getting there early so you're not waiting in line too long! read more

If you like rich, robust coffee, move along. The only positive thing I can say about the americano: it was warm. Donuts looked and smelled delicious but I didn't try them. First the driveway/drive thru area is very congested. An accident waiting to happen. No clearance while waiting for order in the drive thru for other customers that are parked for backing up or pulling out or parking spot. Totaling out a vehicle while waiting at a donut shop drive thru isn't a way I want to spend a day out. Also the donuts and coffee are ok, but nothing to brag about. read more

Stopped here today after snowboarding at Hunter Mountain. These donuts are amazing! Freshly fried throughout the course of the day and topped when you order them. We also got the Nutella latte, highly recommend. The guys working there were nice and made great recommendations. Best doughnuts I have ever tasted!! I saw the little shop on the side of the road and couldn't believe how amazing the doughnuts tasted. I would drive the 2 hours to the Catskills just for these! We had the apple cider ones and the dough is soft and fluffy. We ordered half a dozen because they are that good! This is a must try! They also have hot cocoa and coffee to pair with the doughnuts. We stopped here after a long day at Hunter mountain and it hit the spot. We had apple cider donuts and they are regular black drip coffee. The coffee was actually very very good.
