First time here today and it was a very good experience. The ladies were very helpful and willing to give suggestions. I got a cold drink and we also got a hot drink. Both of them were really good. Meh. That's all I can say. Coffee and drinks are mediocre, and the prices are through the roof. I used to come here because they were cheaper than Starbucks, but now I might as well just go to Starbucks. And what happened to the previous staff? This new staff is meh. They don't look like they know what they're doing. They didn't even fill my cup up all the way. I am honestly really disappointed. I used to love that place. Sure, it's cozy in here, but for those prices? Heck no. I'm now at the point where I will just order a tea. It's cheap and hard to mess up. Literally, $11 for a MEDIUM caramel latte with almond milk. Bought a new high quality coffee drip maker, Technivorm Moccamaster and have been looking for high quality beans to grind at home. Bought a bag of Starbucks Cafee Verona and have used up just about the entire bag; my home brew taste is indistinguishable from the Starbucks kiosk. My quest has been to find outstanding coffee beans, thus, I dropped in to Dunn Brothers to give their bean a try and bought a bag of their Tanzania Peaberry coffee beans. When one purchases a bag of beans you are rewarded with a cup of their already brewed coffee. Yikes, the coffee tasted very acidic, unfortunately, I could not drink this old middle of the afternoon brew which was not the bean I purchased. It was an awful cup of coffee, I do not remember ever having coffee this bad. I poured 2/3 of my 'free' cup of coffee down the drain. Next day, breakfast. Measure and weigh beans on scale, grind to medium for drip brewer, add the proper amount of filtered water after weighing. Now drinking my 1st cup of home brewed Tanzania Peaberry coffee. The coffee is suppose to taste like Coca, Honey and Melon. I am picking up the Melon & Coca taste. This home brew is not to be a comparison between yesterday's mid day Java, they are not the same beans. One cup is fresh brewed, the other stale, flat and acidic from sitting past its exportation, sad. I am not writing this to trash Dunn Brothers. I have been to this location many times and walked out a happy customer. The beans I bought are good. Bad experiences are a part of the dining gamble we take, they are sometimes unavailable. read more

Not my fav place . The prices are in line with the major name that starts with Star , but the quantity isn't the same . A large cup is the size of a grande . So for someone like myself who wants a (30 oz ) I am paying the same price for less . The day I stopped by they were out of large cups which was a huge disappointment. I asked if I could get a medium and a small I place of a large and was told no . So there was no compensating . The iced coffee unfortunately tasted watered down and although I asked for a " vanilla iced coffee with cream " I was given a iced coffee with cream minus vanilla . I feel like Dunn Brothers has declined in quality over the years. It's not as cleanly as it used to be. It used to be a spot I studied at regularly when I lived in the area, but then I moved away from the South Houston area for a few years, and now just return to visit every so often. So, as I visited the area most recently, I decided to make some stops at the old stomping ground. I used to eat the food there when it first opened, but now that I've noticed the cleanliness issue, I've stopped ordering because I just am not confident with how it's kept. Personally haven't seen anyone wiping down tables while I've been there. As one example, there's been the same dead roach in the bathroom for 3 days now - it hasn't been touched and is in clear sight. So now I'm not too sure about what the closing procedures are, or if it's being followed. The people working there are nice and take your order quickly, so that's nice! Coffee itself isn't bad and they do offer milk alternatives. I like that they put the coffee in a to-go cup instead of putting it in a mug, even if you're staying there. I feel like it's a solid place to study when it's not peak hour - it has a lot of accessible outlets and the booths are spacious. In addition, there are some games and books you can pick off a shelf near the front door if you're ever looking for something to do while you're there or to take a break from what you're doing. It's conveniently located in the middle of Friendswood, so if you're in the area visiting or reside there, it's one of the few options that are available to choose from if you're looking for a sit-down coffee place to meet up with people or to use as a study spot. (Starbucks, Heritage Cafe, and Summer Moon would be the other alternatives I know of in the area). read more

Dunn Bros is a local Friendswood favorite as far as coffee shops go! It has a very hipster vide to the place, and they often have live music on the weekends in their outdoor patio area. Filled with many tables, chairs, and outlets, this is my favorite place to study in Friendswood. And judging by how crowded the place always is, it seems like this is everyone's favorite study spot. Regardless of the crowds, it surprisingly doesn't get too loud here during the day. The only time I don't recommend studying here is when they have live music going on, their schedule is listed on a calendar inside the store. As far as coffee here, my go to order is their chocolate steamed Nirvana. It isn't overly sweet yet has a deep chocolate mocha flavor that I love. If you're looking for a big caffeine kick, try ordering an off the menu drink called the "Taylor Bomb." I forget what all is in it, but the drink is named after an old friend of mine. And if you're looking for a bite to eat, all of their pastries, sandwiches, or acai bowls are worth getting! Pro tip, get the Dunn Brothers app! It makes paying for everything faster, you can order ahead, find other locations, and best of all earn REWARDS. After coming to study here pretty often, it's crazy how fast you earn free drinks from here. I highly recommend Dunn Bros Coffee to everyone, and yes it is better than Starbucks! read more

Really the taste of this drink is just awful. I was in a rush just trying to get some COFFEE and ordered a drink off the seasonal menu . I ordered it based off the picture which is my fault but like I said kind of in a rush and I didn't see descriptions of the drinks anywhere I just saw the pictures. Anyways, I go to take a drink of what I ordered and it's a combination of soda and coffee and pumpkin cream. It's honestly disgusting I'm so annoyed I've never been here before,also I never been to a place that would mix coffee and cola like maybe I'm just the uncultured one but that's gross . Oh goodness, I'm a sucker for a small town coffee shop. Dunn bros is simply standard, delicious. It'll run you the same as a Starbucks (maybe a little more) but everyone is so kind and chipper, even when the drive thru like is out the street. This is within walking distance of my office and it's a really a godsend for the midday pick me up. PLUS the food is actually so good, sandwiches and wraps and breakfast items. They're really flavorful and customizable and they have so many options for any kind of diets. My girlfriend and I stopped by here to pick up a coffee and biscuit to go. The sasuage, cheese and egg croissant was very good. The croissant itself was high quality bread but way to flaky for me. Was kind of a mess eating but hey that's just the price to pay eating good food! The egg was slightly overcooked but I definitely enjoyed the treat. The regular coffee (black with one splenda) was great tasting as well. I heard nothing but good things and it lived up to its name. This place is a great study/meet up/hang out spot in Friendswood. You can't miss it while driving by 518 because of its nice facade. They also have a lot of parking spaces in the back. Overall, this is a pretty good coffee alternative to Starbucks.The inside of the shop has a few comfortable booths and tables.They also have a nice patio area in the back that is pretty spacious which is great when the weather is nice outside. They host live music so I assume this is where they do all that. Whenever I go at around 7 am, I always see someone roasting coffee right in front of you. It's pretty awesome knowing that this shop roasts their own coffee in house, it makes me feel like my coffee will always be fresh. It does make a difference; their coffee is always good and the smell of roasted coffee just pumps me up for th rest of my day. I have tried a lot of their specialty drinks which were all great, but have settled for their dark brew French press lately since I have been studying for school. Stopped by for a quick study break in the area and was pleasantly surprised to find plenty of space, booths, and outdoor tables to study. The baristas were all very nice, and the coffee menu and bakery case had many delicious sounding and looking items. The lavender (almond milk) latte I had was very sweet, but had a good lavender flavor and was refreshing afternoon drink to sip on. There was a fairy amount of people sitting with their laptops next to outlets, and everyone was respectful of other patrons. I stopped by on the way to work to get a cup of coffee and was serviced by this kind young woman named Mikalah. She was so patient and lovely and a breath of fresh air. She was funny and made my morning so much better than it was. She made my coffee and it was so amazing. I don't typically write reviews on specific industry workers, but Mikalah was great and I believe everyone should start their day with someone like her. I'd like to give a better review but I consistently get the wrong order and they "have to ask" if you want to tip when you pay with a card, so I always tip, almost never get the correct order. So, I tip, pay for food I don't get and feel bad that I have to give a mediocre review. The employees are all real nice, but the manager really needs to do a better job getting the employees to make the correct order and check before bagging the food. I like the coffee and I like the food, but the next time I go there (if I do) I'll have to say, 'I cannot tip you until I start getting the proper order," and sit there and check all the food to ensure it's correct before driving off. read more

While checking in with the Yelp phone app I am frequently pleasantly surprised when there is a check-in offer on something that I am already planning on getting. At Dunn Brother's Coffee that wasn't exactly the case, because what I was planning on getting was a Chai Tea Latte--it is what I get everywhere. I'm pretty sure that it is the bar standard that I hold for coffee shops because I don't drink coffee so what else can I hold them too? Anyway, the check-in offer was for a seasonal drink and I began to inwardly chide myself for always getting the same thing. I resolved to try one of the seasonal drinks, I was on vacation and when was I going to get back to try something new?(this was my reasoning) What I ended up trying, and loving, was the Lavender London Fog. Guys, I've tried a London Fog there too (a friend ordered it after trying mine) and while it is an okay drink--the lavender adds a smoothness that makes the drink 100 times better. It was so good that I got it again the next time we went (the next day--what was I thinking I was never going back?) Accompanying the delish drink was a pistachio muffin. Since ordering the muffin I've read some of the reviews of them... they are all true. The muffin was fluffy and so tasty. I would have liked it warmed a little more but it was busy and prime time in the oven probably needs to be requested any other time than breakfast. This was a super coffee shop-- there were board games. Free Wi-Fi. And a lot of tables. They make it conducive for you to stay and spend time there, and I love that! I'm not sure why this place gets bad reviews. I've been here multiple times and at varied times. I agree it's a place to chill out, meet a friend, have a great coffee or tea and even a little lunch or snack. I have never ordered anything I did not like and service has always been friendly! I often visit coffee shops downtown as that is what I enjoy doing and this is one of my fave shops near home. It is often filled with those working and/or studying and always is pretty full. The outdoor patio is nice on a sunny day and today the patio was pretty full as well. Today, I ordered the Iced Coconut Nirvana with a little shot of vanilla and it was amazing! I really like vanilla and coconut in my coffee that's why I added it . We need more coffee shops like this in our area , I enjoy visiting, even on a day like today when I couldn't stay for long. read more

My wife and I needed a quick coffee fix and since we were in the area, we decided to stop at Dunn's. We have driven past it so many times and have made comments about trying it out. A few seconds later, another person got on and asked if we were ready. We barely had time to look over the menu. I asked for a little bit of time since no one was in the line behind us. They say they have pastries, but doesn't specify what kinds. I asked, and the guy seemed irritated as he gave us a run down of of the items. We felt a little rushed, so my wife just ordered a vanilla latte and a pistachio muffin. I ordered a vanilla iced nirvana and a glazed donut. I appreciate a dark roast, but whatever they used in both of our coffees was extremely bitter. My drink didn't even have a hint of vanilla. I thought I was going to be in vanilla nirvana! My wife's latte had a wierd after taste and we ended up throwing that out and it wasn't even half way done. I gotta give them props for their pastries though. That's why I'm giving them 3 stars. The pistachio muffin was moist and delicious. My donut was tasty as well as I love cake donuts. I may give them another try at some point, but no way would I go out of my way to get my caffeine fix here. read more

Pretty new building on 518, right in the heart of Friendswood. I went through drive through for some quick coffee and was surprised at the outdoor space in the back! Ok I've done the drivethru here a few times over the years traveling from Webster to pearland. So always good coffee. But today decided to go in & discovered they have Decaf Cold Brew! Awesome. I love cold brew but I can't do a lot of caffeine. I'm primarily a decaf coconut milk kinda person. So very excited. It's smooth & exactly what I want in a decaf cold brew! This place is great fun for a coffee lover! It's a large pretty building with a massive covered patio on the outskirts of Friendswood. The entrance is on the backside of the building and there was a drive through on the side I passed. I got confused (as per usual) and drove past the entrance (as per usual) and had to U-turn back around to access the parking lot. I really shouldn't be allowed out unsupervised. . . I ordered a big, fat, skim-milk latte with no foam. I love huge coffees! When I showed my check-in coupon to the very friendly guy behind the counter he said "COOL!" like he was genuinely excited about me saving a dollar. :) The latte was excellent. Strong, with no foam to be seen. You can't beat that fresh roasted flavor. It was however, extremely hot. So I hung out in one of their big squishy arm chairs for a minute to let it cool down. It smelled SO good in there! I saw a little shelf by the check out for sharing books for a dollar and I thought that was a really nice touch! This isn't a good place to come to during finals week--if you are looking for a spot to study this isn't it because there aren't any places to sit or study in a quiet area. This place gets packed quick and its not like this coffee is huge or anything. Its fairly small and cozy--I guess that's the word.
