I called to repair my washing machine and was happy with the repair. It recently began leaking again so I pulled it out myself to see where it was leaking and noticed the repairs were all done with duct tape! Please see attached photos. The wood under my washer and dryer is drenched, my carpet is drenched. I can't do my laundry and have to call another repair person. Waste of time and money. I would not recommend. read more

I called Dunn-Wright to repair my Insinkerator HOT/Cold faucet. I was referred by Insinkerator to call Dunn-Wright as their expert in the area. I left a message and received a call back from a Dave Little who in my opinion is completely incompetent and rude. He expected my 69 year old wife to craw under the sink to do all of the work for him before he came out for a warranty repair. Unreliable. I wasted about a month waiting for them to come out and service a hood i purchased from Friedman's appliances. Finally I think it was Dave called last week said he would come by this week on 01/06/2021. Around 12 pm, I still haven't received any service or a phone call. I called him. He tells me he and his wife decided he would not be working for the next two weeks. Thanks for letting me know. Just read the other 1 star reviews he is a flake. I called him multiple times just to hear excuses and lies. Once he told me he was with a customer and he would call me back. I never received a call back. We needed our Maytag dryer repaired due to a loud squeaky noise it was making when operating. And I mean loud. We had been using an appliance repair company since late 70's who we always trusted. But, he was not available for an immediate service. I heard about Dunn-Wright thru our preferred appliance retail store who advised it was a very reputable company who has been in business for many years. I made contact with them, and due to how busy their technicians were, I received a call from the owner to inquire what the problem was with our dryer. He even apologized not a miscommunique that occurred when I made the original call. He came to the rescue and sent out a technician the following day. The technician, Guillermo diagnosed the problem quickly and made the repair. It was apparent he knew his trade and was very professional, courteous, and careful in doing the repair. While it took some time to get a specific appointment scheduled, once it was locked in, the technician arrived on time and was totally prepared to fix our leaking washing machine. Jaime diagnosed the problem, maneuvered the washing machine in a pretty tight space, removed the back panel, and fixed the leak. He then explained what had happened, reconnected all the hoses, and ran the machine through a cycle to ensure that all was working properly. Very courteous and professional. read more

In the midst of a pandemic, and with so many people doing remodeling projects, the response of Dunn-Wright company to my oven repair inquiry was amazing. I called around 1 PM today, explaining that both of my Dacor ovens failed to turn on after a 3 day power outage. Dave, the owner, called me back within an hour. He suggested I try resetting the breakers to see if that would fix the problem. If it didn't, he would be happy to come make a house call but wanted me to try that first. I did, and it worked. I have a 3-year-old GE Dryer. Friedman's Appliance referred Duun-Wright Company to replace my control panel which was fried and needed to be replaced. Jaime came out and installed a new control panel and left without testing it. The first time we used the dryer the programming was not correct and all the cycle times were also incorrect, such as the Speed Dry Cycle was 3-1/2 hours and delicates would run for 2 hours 11 minutes. Every cycle would shut off and after a few minutes of running, leaving the clothes still wet. After contacting him letting him know that he needed to come back out, It took more than week for him to return and lots of excuses.When he finally returned, he made no attempt to correct the program and left us hanging. We asked if he had contacted a GE representative, and he told us that they wouldn't help him, and we should contact them. The day he left, we were running the dryer and smelled the same burning wire smell. The new plastic wire end that he replaced must have been to big to fit, so he just cut half of the plastic off. We were surprised that it did not catch fire. I now have GE Service coming out. Beware of Dunn-Wright Company. read more

Dave came to my home to access my dryer that went dead. He was in my home all of 20 minutes and it turned out to be the circuit breaker. He justified charging me $125 to do nothing? There was no repairs done nor were there any parts purchased. I felt totally ripped off. The company that manufactured our kitchen hood, Broan, recommended we call Dunn-Wright for our hood repair. I called and Dunn-Wright has an answering service. I was promised a call back no later than the following day. No call back. I waited until the next week and called them back. Answering service again. I explained I had called the prior week and hadn't gotten a call back. I was promised they would put the message through as "urgent" and I would hear back either that evening or the next day. No call. Two days later I received a call from someone at Dunn-Wright at 7:45pm! Yes, that's almost 8 o'clock at night. I was friendly (and grateful), but explained we were on a Zoom call with our family, and could they please call back the following day? No problem, the person promised. Someone would call me back the next morning. Of course, no call. I'm now writing this review while I'm on hold with Broan to see if they have any other companies they work with. I don't know what Dunn-Wright's issues are, but if they can't handle the first outreach to a customer, I wouldn't want to be on the other side of a repair problem they had. I truly thought I was going to need to replace my gas stove top, After talking with them I realized I just put the pieces back together after a thorough cleaning. NO costs, just help. I woke up one morning to a flooded kitchen from my Jenn-Air dishwasher. The dishwasher wasn't draining, so after calling around several repair places, I settled with Dunn-Wright. Bruce called me back and let me know what I needed to do to stop the leak until he was able to get to the house the next day with the replacement part. Bruce fixed the dishwasher the next day. He did a great job - was fast and friendly. I definitely recommend Dunn-Wright and won't hesitate to contact them again the next time I have an appliance issue. read more

I was sent to these folks from a Home Warrenty company. The problem was simple: a couple of burners on a stove didn't light, and either the igniters, or the burners themselves, needed to be replaced. The service guy called with a potential time, which I told him I couldn't make, but that I might be available at the very end of the time; i.e. the range was 2-4, and I said I night be available at the very end of the slot, around 3:30. He called at 3:15, said he was at the house, and - since we weren't there - was leaving. I told him I was only 10 minutes away, but he had to leave. He told me to give him the model number, which I did (via text and person-to-person on the phone), and he would call back with the ETA of his return with the parts to fix the range. He never called. So, I waited 10 days, and called him. He gave me this big story about it taking 3-4 weeks to get parts . . . . I knew from my own efforts that parts were available in three days via the InterNet. I told him that, so he challanged me. "What Places?". I told him, and then he said, "Well, we never order from the Internet", and promised to call me back. Then I got a snotty call (voice mail) from an individual named "Lisa". Without ever talking to me and/or understanding what had happened, she told me that I had given the repairman the wrong model number, becasue I had given them a oven model number, and they needed the cooktop. The fact is, it's a range, so there is no oven vs. cooktop model number - it's all the same one-piece slide-in range unit! I called the place, and couldn't get Lisa, who was off work. The next day, Lisa called and continued to give me attitude . . . . i.e. She hadn't ben snotty on the phone, I had made a mistake, etc. Finianlly, I talked to the owner, and that's were this all sits right now. Based on the hiugh ratings this service has received, I assume he'll take care of it. Based on the experience to date, I have my doubts. read more

I have a 10 year old Dacor double oven and the lower oven stopped working. I called Friedman's where I bought the ovens and they recommended Dunn-Wright to make the repairs. Dave the owner came right on time and what a nice guy he was. He found the problem right and away and then asked if my husband and I wanted to know how to fix this if it happens in the future. I have used Dave from Dunn-Wright on several occasions and honestly, I've never had a problem. In fact, he noticed my hot and cold lines for my washer were corroding and mentioned that they needed to be replaced. I asked him to call me back after our vacation and sure enough, he called and reminded me! We made arrangements for him to come to the house. Unfortunately for me, I was in the backyard without my cell phone when he came. I never heard the doorbell. I came inside a half hour later and saw that he had called. I telephoned him right away and lo & behold, he came back! He not only put the new flex lines in but he fixed a problem in my oven ( not scheduled) and even helped me pull some screws out of our deck. We called Dunn-Wright because our washing machine was making a loud thumping/banging noise at the beginning of the spin cycle. The service tech was thirty minutes late for our appointment -- not a good start. He then ran the washer with two towels as the load, not enough to trigger the noise. While the washer was running he suggested a few possibilities as to the cause of the noise, but made no effort to check if any of them were actually the problem. And for this I paid $75! This would be a one-star review except for the fact that the washer did not actually make the abnormal noise. read more

So glad I found Dunn-Wright! Two recent repairs: our Dacor Microwave/Convection oven, and our Whirlpool washing machine. Both Tim and Jaime (respectively) responded quickly, were professional, knowledgeable, and prompt. When our microwave stopped heating we worried that it needed a magnetron but fortunately it was just a switch. Tim had the part and got it running again in no time flat, plus he is really pleasant to talk with. Then just before Christmas my Whirlpool washer tub stopped spinning. We have an extended warranty but A&E couldn't make it out for weeks! So I called Dunn Wright and once again, not only were they prompt in responding, Jaime had the necessary parts the next morning. This vendor was recommended to me by Freidmann's Appliance in Concord. Unfortunately this was a very unpleasant experience. After reaching them it took two weeks for them to come out and look at our U-line Ice maker which was not working. we were then informed that a part needed to be ordered. This was at the beginning of december so i was hoping that the repair would have been complete by christmas. A month after they first visited i finally get a call saying that they got the part and are ready to schedule an install, which again was two weeks out. by now its late january. When they show up they start installing the part on the wrong appliance, thank god my wife was there to point them to right appliance. Unfortunately between pulling both appliance out from under the cabinet they scratched our walnut floors. when they completed the repair they left the appliances missagligned with the cabinets and sticking out. Unbelievable! My wife called them and the receptionist promised that the owner would call us back. Surprise, no return call from the owner. So now i am left with a very expensive repair bill, damage to my floor and no return calls from the vendor. read more

Sorry Dunn Wright. You were our go to place in the past for appliance repair but no more. When I called earlier this morning I had to leave a message about my dead refrigerator. My call was returned around 10:30. I was told that the repair tech would return my call. At 2:00 I was still waiting for that call. If the communication had been better and I was informed there would have been a specific time, a delay OR it wasn't in the cards, I could have gone and picked up ice for my cooler. Instead I waited for zero return calls (yes it is nearly 9 pm at night) and all the stuff in my freezer went into the trash. Used this company back in December when we purchased new appliances. The installers were a couple hours late and I had to call them to see when they would be here. They did a fair at best job installing the microwave and dishwasher with the exception of the hole they had to cut in my cabinet for the microwave cord. Apparently, they didn't have the proper tools and it shows, as it looks like they took a hammer to the bottom of my cabinet to make the hole for the cord. Also, I found out they gouged/chipped my expensive granite back splash, which I was shown when the other appliance company came out. After they did install they did tell me that my microwave was really low to the stove and that it should be fixed as technically it wasn't to code (you need minimum 30" clearance from combustible metals and we clearly did not have that.) Several months passed and I was able to have a smaller depth cabinet made to accommodate the microwave and give us the additional clearance we needed. Since we used Dunn-Wrong for our prior install, I called them again to have them take down my new microwave and reinstall it after the cabinet has been installed. The owner, Dave gave me a price of $150.00 and I questioned that because to install both the microwave and dishwasher he charged me $250.00. He knocked it down to $125.00 and I said $100.00 and he said no way and maybe the people who I bought the appliance's from could do the work. If I didn't use the installers from where I originally purchased my appliances, why would I use them now? I explained to him that I would need to have the microwave taken down and reinstalled after the cabinet was installed and his first response was "you expect me to wait while your cabinet is being installed?" He than suggested that I could take the microwave down myself and he would come and install it.( still charging me $125.00 for doing half the work). Still amazed at the response he gave me, he patched me through to his assistant Lisa to make the appointment. She confirmed what was being done and I explained to her that I have to take the microwave down myself and they will install it. She asked me if I was okay with that and I told her no, but I wasn't given any other option. Hey Dave, if your reading this review, I asked the other installer if I could have taken the microwave down myself and he said no way! Please give me your email and I will sent the photos of what your installers did to my cabinet & granite as I can't upload pictures on yelp. Found a new company (Absolutely Affordable Appliance Repair) for my future appliance repairs and or installs. Mark did a great job & charged me $90.00, and gave me two appt times, one to take down and one to reinstall. I will be posting a 5-star review when I get a chance. read more

The owner, David came out and did a warranty job for me. I was amazed that there was no labor charge first of all, then pleasantly surprised to hear his company does maintenance on all sorts of home items, such as refrigerators (they do not work on built in units)...anyway, today, El, another employee came by to do the clean up on my outdoor fridge! He replaced the light bulb, repaired shelves that have fallen over time, and were being stored on top! All this for a very decent cost! Just shows, there are a few honest people out there! read more

Several years ago we remodeled our kitchen and purchased new appliances, including a JennAir refrigerator. Over the years we have had problems and called Dunn Wright to come for the repairs. Both times, Al came out. He was always prompt, honest about what's had to be done and explained everything he did thoroughly. We really appreciate the excellent service and workmanship. I don't believe that the positive reviews of this company are genuine. They are lazy, unresponsive, evasive, and unfortunately the go-to appliance repair for a large property management company, leaving tenants around the Bay Area without functioning appliances and no where to turn. Tenants are taken advantage of, with no options. The technician who came to my house today admitted that it is unlikely he will find parts to fix my oven, but that I may not hear back for 10 business days. That is two weeks. I have already gone a week without an oven. I had to call 3 times and beg for them to come out because the property management company won't replace the oven until Dunn Wright says they have 1) verified it is broken and 2) can't fix it. Then who knows how long it will take to get a working oven. If you are a renter and have had similar experiences with this appliance company, please leave a review. If we get enough people together, we can make a difference. If we have the same property management company, we may be able to file a class action. I have a family lawyer who can help.
