Terrific customer service! First rate repairman! My Bosch dishwasher was delivering water after I'd taken a shot of clearing a plugged system. Friedman's referred me to Dunn-Wright. I called late yesterday afternoon and Bruce showed up on schedule this morning. After I admitted to using a plunger, he knew what I'd screwed up. I marveled at how quick he got into the working parts, almost without looking (he replaced a panel in 10 seconds that had taken me 30 minutes to pry off). He explained exactly what was happening as he replaced a hose I'd plunged off, and siphoned the water from the drip pan. Bruce is a delightful guy. Not once was he condescending even though I should have had a sign reading "Idiot!" hanging around my neck. He leveled the system (I'd installed it myself and always cursed the top rack for rolling out every time I opened the door), removed a ball stopper in the drain system (a remnant of my previous dishwasher which I hadn't known I should have removed (you should be observing a trend by now). He watched the system run to make sure I hadn't done further violence. The price was reasonable for an expert like Bruce (I'd have paid double the amount without a squawk). Let's tick 'em off: great customer service; on time; diagnosed and fixed the problem quickly; had everything he needed with him; demonstrated first-rate expertise; courteous; did more than was asked, including little things I'm sure others would have ignored; wore a Niners T-shirt; fair price -- what more can you ask? Our Zephyr Typhoon Range Hood needed a switch repair that controls the fan speeds and the light. I could not find anyone in our vicinity who was familiar with this brand of range hood because it is a specialty product with complicated assembly and circuitry. Someone suggested me to try Dunn-Wright Co. in Concord/Clayton (925) 672-8460. Even Friedman Appliances and Zephyr technical advisor said Dunn-Wright Co. is familiar with their products and do a good job. So I called Dunn-Wright Co., spoke to Dave who does service repairs and is the company owner. I explained the problem. Dave arrived on time, he was polite and listened to me about the problem. Last Friday night, my 13 year old washing machine died during the spin cycle. I found Dunn-Wright in the Yellow Pages and called to leave a message hoping someone would get back to me (one never knows with contractors/customer service). Dave answered the phone at 8:20pm! I told him the problem and he said he would call Saturday morning to confirm a time. He called at 10:30 on Saturday (as promised), said he'd arrive between 12 and 2 and arrived at 12:05 (as promised)! He had my washing machine taken apart, the broken part replaced, the washer put back together and working perfectly in under 30 minutes! Dave also helped with a stove/oven problem I was having as well. He was very professional and courteous. I recently bought a new home and already had a gas dryer. Unfortunately, the home was only set up for an electric dryer. After calling a couple of repairmen/contractors and learning that it would cost me anywhere from $500-$800, and I would have to pay for parts, AND it would take at least a whole day to do, which included them going under the house, I luckily found Dunn-Wright Appliance. I spoke with Dave (the owner) who said he could have a technician out that same day. The tech was at my house on time, determined that he could do the change-over for $365, which included material and labor. He then changed the configuration from electric to gas, did not have to go under the house, and only took him 4 1/2 hours. I was very impressed by all involved with Dunn-Wright. We were referred to Dunn-Wright Co. by Friedman's Appliance. We contacted David Little of Dunn-Wright Co. and scheduled an appointment to service our trash compactor. He was running late but had the professional courtesy to call us and advise. He was very knowledgeable about the appliance and quickly repaired it without any issues. The job was finished, the bill was paid and David was ready to leave. He noticed that there was an issue with the part that makes the compactor start. He went back to his truck, found the necessary part and installed it at no additional cost to us. Obviously, we were very pleased. After David left, I made the comment to my finance' that the company name was very fitting .. Dunn-Wight means "done right the first time"! We would use the services of Dunn-Wight again and would highly recommend them to others. read more

I've been having problems with my Zephyr Stove Hood. So I called Dunn-Wright Appliance Co. to have it fixed, and the service technician, (Dave) called me right back to set up an appointment within the next day. He arrived on time, and was very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. He was able to detect the problem immediately and explained the repairs that were needed, and was adept to fix the problem right away. He also made sure everything was functioning properly before he left. I am very happy with the results. If I ever encounter any more problems with any of my appliances, I know who to call! I have dealt with this company on several different occasions. I called them this morning and left a message. They got back to me within minutes, literally. A technician was on my doorstep within 2 hours of my initial call. He was courteous, extremely proficient, quick and thorough. He knew exactly what was wrong with my appliance and fixed it within a few minutes. The last two times I called them for 2 other appliances that needed fixing they were just as good. No upsell, no song and dance, just the simplest least expensive repair. Good customer service with an honest fix to my problem. My periodic call to Dunn-Wright Appliance Service and Repair, this time to repair a non-functioning fan on our cook-top vent system once again resulted in stellar service. Dave responded promptly, arrived on time, quickly diagnosed the problem caused by rats chewing through the wires, and made the repair. What really blew me away was that while making arrangements for the service call over the phone he recalled the conversation we had had a year earlier about a memorable gift my son had given me. All my appliances were purchased new at the same time 10 years ago. So of course, they ALL broke down at the same time. Dunn Wright technicians arrived with the correct parts and fixed my oven & microwave the same day. But when they diagnosed my washer, they told me it had a barron causing a slow oil leak. They said it would cost about $300 to fix but it would probably break again in a year. They advised me to get a new washer instead of incurring continuos repair costs. Now that is an honest business. They could have soaked me for $300 and more for future repairs. This is a good business and Dunn Wright will be the only appliance repair I ever use. I highly recommend. read more

My Dacor stove broke down on Thanksgiving day. I called Dunn-Wright appliance on Friday and they were there on Wednesday of the following week. The repairmian was able to determined that the problem was the "control" board in the stove. The part was ordered and on the second visit, the stove was back up and running. The repair man was very knowledgeable about the stove and where the parts were that needed to be repaired. As the stove was put back together, the repair man noticed that one little part was installed wrong, and took an extra 5 minutes to make it right. I will call Dunn-Wright Appliance repair for all of my "appliance" repairs in the future. read more

I've used this company and Dave specifically multiple times and it has always been a positive experience. Dave is very responsive, friendly, knowledgeable, honest and helpful. Their prices are extremely fair as well. On my last service call a couple weeks ago, Dave was able to resolve an issue with our GE ovens without having to order parts and keeping costs down. My water heater....$15 part (which he had on his truck) and I was back in business. I appreciate his integrity. My dishwasher broke shortly after the warranty ran out (typical!). Needing a repair service right away, I found Dunn-Wright Appliance Repair on Yelp and, based on excellent reviews, I called them up on a Wednesday. One of their repairmen, Jaime, came to my house the next day. Unlike some other repair services that automatically just replace everything, he tried to fix the motor but was unable to make it run. I since moved to Sacramento but I called Dave at Dunn-Wright asking if he could recommend someone in this area for a broken microwave door and a garbage disposal that quit working? He said he would be coming up this way in a few days to go to Apple Hill and he would stop by and do the work himself. This company does a good job! My Dacor stove wasn't operating properly so the manufacturer recommended Dunn-Wright for the warranty repair. Dave contacted me a day later and got right over to my home. In about 30 minutes, he had diagnosed the problem as a defective ignition switch and replaced the bad unit.
