I have had occasion to go to Pete's Tire Barn for two of my vehicles in the past two months, and…read morecan't say enough good things about the service that they provided me! I initially went in for a State inspection for my Mercedes/Winnebago View RV, and found that I needed two new front tires to pass inspection. They were clearly worn and needed to be replaced, but since I wasn't aware of that when I booked the appointment, I didn't set aside the time needed to put the new ones on, get the inspection, and make it back home in time for an appointment. Robbie, and his crew jumped right on it, and they had the tires that I wanted in stock, so in just a little more time than a normal inspection takes, they had me on my way with two new tires. Several weeks later, I brought my Mini-Cooper in for new tires, and they set me up with a set of Cooper tires that they also had in stock, and the cost was almost $200.00 less than the Mini dealer had quoted me. I had some issues with the tires, and they immediately made good on them, offering me several options. They ordered a brand new set of replacement Coopers for me, put them on, and bingo, I was on my way. The first set of tires had a defect which was not their fault, but the way that they dealt with the problem was amazing, and that is the kind of service that will keep me coming back to them in the future!

NOT ANY MORE…read more This place has taken a drastic nose dive in service since this spring when Adam left and the new management took over. All the old technicians have since quit only leaving one decent person (Robbie) left in the whole place if that tells you anything. The new manager is super condescending and speaks to women like they are idiots. Had an appointment last month where we had ordered two brand new sets of tires to be put on both of our vehicles and have alignments done only to show up on the day of the appointment to be told that their alignment machine had been down for months. Who puts brand new tires on a vehicle without aligning it???? Then today, my daughter took her car there for an inspection and since they weren't busy at all (one other customer) we asked for them to mount snow tires as well. It took the tech 2 1/2 hours to do an inspection (which only required replacing three small lightbulbs) and mount the snows. Yes, they had to replace a TPMS on one of the tires but there is no way it should have taken 2 1/2 hours. That new tech they had working on her car didn't have a clue what he was doing and should not have been assigned to a vehicle of someone who was waiting in the lobby if he was going to be so slow!!! Never again, Pete's ... going corporate has lost you another customer.

The driver worked with my husband for a long time to get the very heavy bike loaded and then was extremely careful with it to get it safely transported. This company really bailed us out of a tough spot so we didn't have to leave the bike unattended at the top of App Gap. And the price was really reasonable for a Saturday and a very tough job. I have nothing but positive things to say about the tow. Super professional with a nice driver as well as good communication from dispatch.

I never got a call or a text from anyone, as AAA had said would happen, the tow truck just appeared. Upon opening the hood, the driver immediately complained about the state of the battery terminals but refused to clean them. He told me that I should pour sodium bicarbonate on each terminal, followed by vinegar, finally rinsing with clean water, but only once the issue he'd been called for was rectified. After that lecture, he had me get in the car to be ready to start it. He retrieved a jump pack and I watched him connect the black cable to the positive terminal on the battery. As soon as he connected the red cable to the negative terminal there was a sound like a gunshot and the horn started blasting. The driver jumped about six feet away from the car and it took him almost ten seconds to disconnect the red cable from the negative terminal which silenced the horn. He then unhooked the black cable from the positive side and put the red on the positive and the black on the negative. The incorrect connection caused something to happen to the jump pack because the driver spent several minutes trying to get it to work again, and once he did he again started trying to charge the battery. Somehow, as soon as he got the jump pack working and connected, he told me that the battery was fully charged with a charge of "11.1" according to the jump pack. Despite those claims, the interior lights wouldn't turn on, the hazards wouldn't turn on, and when I tried starting the car, the gauges and warning lights lit up, but the starter wouldn't even click over. Apparently because of the horn sounding, he accused me of running the battery down by leaving the alarm on. (The alarm is a beeping horn, not a constant blast.) When I told him that the horn blast was not the alarm, he accused me of leaving the interior lights on and then of leaving multiple doors open when I exited the car on Tuesday, thereby killing the battery. I asked if something like a fuse could have blown when the cables were hooked up incorrectly. He looked in the main fuse box under the hood, and used a screwdriver and pliers to remove fuses, ostensibly checking to see if they were blown. He then informed me that something must have damaged the electrical system causing the, in his opinion, fully charged battery, to not be working. He said he was going tow the car to a garage of his choosing but he wouldn't with the truck he was driving because he had a hard time getting the truck up the driveway. I said I wanted to talk to my mechanic before it got towed. He left in a huff. I spoke with my mechanic who was horrified that the driver had connected the jump pack backwards. They expressed concern that the driver had done some unseen damage to the electrical components of the car. He recommended that I report what had happened to both AAA and you. I called your main number, got your answering service, explained the concern, and asked to speak to the owner. I was told I would get a call back within 5 minutes. Ten minutes later, I got a call from 802-458-2315. The individual identified themselves as Duane and when I explained the concern, they said that they had been the person who responded (so it wasn't the owner as requested) and he had done nothing wrong. I told him that I had watched him connect the cables backwards. He called me a liar and said I hadn't seen what I saw. He went on to say that batteries "always" arc when cables are connected. I asked again to speak to the owner or his supervisor. He said he would have them call me in a few minutes. 24 hours later I still haven't heard a word from anyone. I've had several previous opportunities to call AAA for Roadside Assistance, and every time your company has responded, it's been a positive experience. Now, I have no working car, you can't be bothered to respond to my concerns, and I'm at a loss. I have grave doubts that the person who responded has ever had any training, either in terms of using the jump pack, or in customer service.

A couple of months ago I was about to conclude a transaction at the cash register when another customer walked up behind me, engaged in conversation with Mike and they left the room together, leaving me waiting for Mike to return. After some minutes I left the store. Today I brought in a lawnmower part that needed 5 minutes of attention and would include the sale of a new drive belt. Mike told me that I was a jerk for having left the last time I was there and therefore wouldn't be ready until sometime tomorrow. Asking for my part back, I told him I would not be returning. He hurled insults at me as I walked out the door. It's sad to see what this business has become. It is without any inventory of new equipment and is a dealer for no brand. Given Mike's extremely unpleasant behavior, there's just no reason to do business there, and plenty of reason not to.

I…read morebrought it in for a simple boost issue caused by a bad down pipe, for context the car was running perfectly fine aside from a lag in acceleration. They were able to get my car in within a couple of days, which seemed promising, but after a few days, they called me back saying they had fixed the issue, but now my car had a slight knock. When I arrived to pick it up and started it, I was met with one of the worst rod knocks I've ever heard saying it had been there the whole time and a slight exhaust leak was covering it up. My car went into their shop with no knocking whatsoever and came out with complete engine damage as well as an 800 dollar charge for the down pipe. Ever since, I've been fighting with their insurance, who is now trying to total my car and offer me absolutely nothing for it. So now I'm left with two terrible choices: either pay for a new car completely out of pocket or spend $11,000 to replace the engine they destroyed. I cannot stress this enough, DO NOT EVER bring your car to this shop. They completely ruined my vehicle and left me stranded. I Will post video of knock if I'm able to.

My car only had a slight loss of power most likely due to low boost. They called me and said they could fix it for $800. I got no updates after that and had to call them asking if it was done. Then they said they think it may be knocking. When I got to the shop they tried to charge me $950 after quoting me $800 for a turbo up-pipe and install. They then proceeded to say there's a slight knock once the car heats up. It had no knock when I dropped it off and just had a bunch of work done not even a year ago when the head gasket was done. They said it was just a little knock and to throw some thicker oil in it and it would make it home. They claimed the knock had been there and "my exhaust was too loud to hear it", and that it's been there the whole time. THEY WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF WOMEN AND TEENAGERS. I spent 2 years in an auto tech class and worked in a shop, I know my way around cars. I made it out of their driveway and it instantly started a horrible rod knock. Their insurance company didn't look at the vehicle just made us wait weeks with no communication and then proceeded to back them up saying "you just couldn't hear it over your exhaust". They put my life in danger by telling me it was ok to drive it when it very well could have seized on me. I had to get it towed. Multiple mechanics said there was no way it was knocking before. DO NOT EVER GO HERE.
