Dutch Bros Coffee shops are popping up all over the city like daisies. As someone who tends to eschew National brand chains, I did want to pay this one a visit since it's right by my apartment. The dual drive thru lines are speedy and there's even a walk up window. The Caramelizer is my go-to when I go, and they also sell muffin tops! Dutch Bros also serves up the BIGGEST pup cups of any coffee shop I've been to so far. Bucky is very pleased. Overall, they're a quick and speedy place to swing by when you're in a pinch, and I'm totally down to keep visiting. read more

We went on their third day and the staff were super friendly. There are two lanes and they will walk with you as you are moving your car up. When we went they had their experienced staff training the hired staff. The experienced staff were very nice, patience and explained how the drinks can be ordered. While there in SAT, we went three times (every other day) One suggested for us to look online, another provided us with the pocket menu and another suggested for us to download the app. Also, you can go on TikTok for drink ideas. While you wait for your drinks, they will chat with you and make the visit very personable. I wish they can come to San Diego because the drinks are delicious and have options for everybody! The kids ordered their Cotton Candy & White Chocolate Dutch Frost. I tried their Caramelizer and Golden Eagle. We weren't disappointed. I mean we went back 3x! It's their energy drink, which is similar to red bull but with flavored syrups to customize it! I recommend the orange creamsicle rebel with a soft top. I've never gone from being such a fan to being so disappointed. The drinks here have rather tanked. They have always been kinda slow so that's not exactly new. But the drinks haven't been consistent the last number of times I have come. The last two times the drinks have quite literally been filled top to bottom with ice. I was so excited when I found out that this Dutch Bros was set to open - there are plenty of other locations around, but none of them were in a location convenient enough for me to get to on a daily basis. This one, however, is right down the road from my office building, and I had been waiting with bated breath for it to open. For context, I love Dutch Bros intensely. It was my go-to coffee before I moved here from California and was one of the things I was deeply homesick for. And when you come here, if you're familiar with the West Coast Dutch Bros vibe, this place definitely come close. One thing that was different here so far was the two drive thru lanes, which none of my old Dutch Bros haunts used to have, and the fairly young folks who were working here did not seem fully comfortable with the setup because there were a couple of staff members wandering aimlessly across the lanes and not realizing a car was pulling up. It's probably a part of the standard Dutch Bros training to be chatty, personable, and upbeat, and it's a great thing. I think, however, the staff just needs to strike the right balance. We were asked what we were up to for the day a total of four times during our drive thru experience, incluing multiple times from people inside the kiosk who must have heard the person next to them ask us already. Again, still a balance to learn, but it will come with time! The menu that is displayed has a lot fewer items than I'm used to, but I am wondering if you can still order from the full menu. I got my old favorite, a large iced Annihilator, and it was just as a remembered a really nice, strong latte with just a little nutty flavor. This is a great location - close enough to everything, but not smack dab in the middle of a high traffic area in a way that would potentially cause traffic, and the parking lot space is great. I do think that there is a lot for it to grow into as a new store, but overall, I'm just glad it's here! read more

After months of (im)patiently awaiting this location to open, I finally got around to trying Dutch bros ! I love coffee (iced specifically) and frequent nearby starbs & Brevity. But I'm always up to try somewhere new. Dutch Bros has been recommended to me countless times by friends so I was definitely excited. After a simple google search I found out they do offer sugar free flavors which is great for me (keto/low carb lifestyle). This location surprisingly wasn't packed, and service was quick in the drive thru. There's 2 lanes and although everyone is in training, there was a good flow. Great customer service with the workers in drive thru & at the window. I did notice the menus (there's several in DT) don't have everything listed. I asked if that means they don't have everything and they said yes. Sooo I was confused when they told me to look on the app and anything I asked about, they had. I'm still unsure if they truly don't offer everything? Or if just the "favorites" are listed on the outside menus. Either way, don't be scared to ask! Use the app. You get points for scanning and I had a $2 off coupon just downloading & signing up. Decent prices, too! I had an iced sugar free caramelizer, my son had the kids not so hot cocoa , and we each tried some of the chocolate chip muffin top, granola bar, and lemon poppyseed muffin top. I had joined the app awhile ago because of watching YouTuber Olivia Rouyre take an 1 1/2 hour road trip for this coffee. I really love Dutch bros, but today waiting in line for 15 minutes( which we don't mind we chose to come here) the worker with huge platform black boots and overalls came to take our order, She came to our door and didn't say anything, we asked " how are you?" and she said " I'm fine but i need you to speed this up, do you see my line?" We paid with our app & then she said as she was walking away she asked if we wanted to leave a tip and before we could hear what she said she selected one and walked away... Got some coffee before heading out of town. Noticed since these things are popping up everywhere it has to be worth it. Got in line and sat there for 20 minutes. So not quick at all. Received our drinks and was definitely not worth the wait. First few sips were full of flavor and then the last 80% was just hot water. Today was the worst visit to Dutch bros, and definitely the reason my boyfriend never wants to come back. We came with at least 30 min before he had to work, and there were only 4 cars in line so we figured we had time. However, since the line system is flawed, that did not happen. 2 cars got into the other lane after us and had their orders taken first. Which meant we were now behind 6 cars. I ended up getting out of the car to order at the window, which we should have just done in the first place. There was no problem at the window, the cashier was friendly and efficient. The cashier outside though was rude. When she got to my boyfriends car to take his order, he let her know we already ordered because the service was taking too long and she just mumbled to him. No apology, no "oh that's a bummer!" Nothing but a "ohhuhuh" mumble. And on top of all that, after not even ordering anything, he couldn't even get out of line due to the cars in the second lane blocking off and cutting in front. All in all, the drinks are good but the drive thru system is awful if not done properly. read more
