Review Update: The best Summer Moon visit I've had. Coffee shop and specialty shop barista here! I've been to a couple of Summer Moon locations and have never really been a fan. My last experience with this one on the other hand was very pleasant. The baristas were super friendly and swift with our order, the cafe itself was clean despite a decent sized crowd, and our order was pretty satisfying. We ordered a Matcha Moon Latte with Lavender, another Matcha Moon Latte with Hazelnut, a Banana Chocolate Chip Muffin, and a Mixed Berry Poptart. Our Matcha Moons were both pretty good; while the lavender was rather subtle and melded well with the moon milk, the hazelnut was in fact a little heavy in flavor. The Poptart was very sweet and yummy, though I admittedly didn't eat all of the crust, and the Muffin was an equal blend of chocolate and banana, rich and moist, and was absolutely delicious overall. If I'm ever in the mood for Summer Moon I will most definitely go out of my way to visit this location. This trip definitely changed my view of Summer Moon in its favor! read more

I already love this coffee shop , just another location. This one is often busy inside not leaving much room to sit at certain times of the day. I've gotten my favorite drink here which is the full summer moon iced. And I've tried the matcha twice here but the first time was sweeter than the last time I had it recently and now I don't think I get it again cause it wasn't as good as the first time. I spent my morning turning a friend on to Summer Moon. She's hooked too. The 20oz spicy chai latte made our day!!

We tried the normal 1/4 moon milk latte, autumn moon, and their mocha latte! Large drinks cost around $6. My favorite was the mocha latte! The autumn moon was also very delicious. It had notes of cinnamon and spice. The interior of the store is beautiful! Lots of natural light. There are smaller tables good for studying but also larger wooden tables. This was my first time at this Summer Moon location. I've been to the Tri-Point location several times and never been disappointed. I went on a Monday afternoon to the Medical Drive location. It was quiet, with only a couple of other patrons. I ordered a double Chai which confused the server as he thought I wanted a double espresso shot in the chai, not an uncommon mistake. Chai can be so variable. Most places just use a pre-made syrup (usually Tazo) but what makes the difference is the heat of the milk. I've had them from faux-bucks and it was barely room temp. This was piping hot and even though it was served in a to-go style cup stayed hot for the 40 mins it took me to drink it. The seating is a mix of high tables, couches and comfy chairs. Which makes it the perfect spot for me when I want to get away from the house to read. Overall a very good experience and I'd recommend this Summer Moon. read more

I'll never be over Summer Moon, but I'm still over the moon about Summer Moon. This is a wonderful coffee shop located in the Medical Center. It's got a drive-thru if you're in a rush, but why be so fast when they've got such a comfortable place to hang and enjoy your drink. I got the legendary Moon Milk in my latte. Their Moon Milk is something else- they're real secretive on what goes in it, but it's a spicy, Indian chai latte kinda experience that is such a delightful coffee drink! The coffee itself is something else too! Did you know they roast their own coffee on oak. A lot of other roasters just use hot air, but they're roasting it with some bicycle contraption that the founder invented that roasts the green coffee beans over smoldering oak. The staff was friendly and fast. They kept down to business keeping the place running efficiently. Our drinks came out fast, and they ran a fast clip getting drinks out the drive-thru window! Their spot is so cool here- it's new, but it looks like it's been here a while, cause it's so well thought out. It's got comfortable places to hang. They've thought of every detail. Summer Moon is a bit small, but they have a decent amount of seating with a lot of natural lighting. The tables are large too and make for a great place to study at. If you're not a fan of sweet coffees, I would not recommend getting anything less than the full amount of moon milk. They do not have a list of their syrup flavors listed anywhere, so you'll need to ask if you're interested. Be sure to pay attention when they're listing it out because they have a lot! The staff are very helpful and are receptive to questions in regards to their menu. Unfortunately, after the few trips I've made, I have yet to find the drink for me. At this point, I just come here for okay-ish coffee and a good study session. They stay open relatively late in comparison to most coffee shops in San Antonio closing at 8:00 pm everyday. read more

summer and winter moons are great hot or iced. i did get a lavender latte one time and it tasted so bad. it had no flavor and tasted just not good over all. if anything id only stick with the moon drinks. other than that the service is good, everyone is super nice. and the inside is a good size, a few tables and a places to sit near the two big windows. read more

How is this coffee shop gonna run on a system that can't even process payment properly. How am I gonna use two different cards and get declined and refunded within a minute. Girl in the drive thru with pink hair doesn't know how to run a drive thru and wants to give a dumb look as if it is my issue. read more

Ambiance is awesome and really great for studying. The staff are super friendly but the drinks leave a bit to be desired. We got the half moon latte and the barista told us it's essentially 50% sweet and their most popular drink. My fiancé lived in SATX for a few years and heard about Summer Moon Coffee from several colleagues and we wanted to give it a try. It was a let down unfortunately. I thought the drink was way too sweet even at 50% sweetness. I'm not a coffee connoisseur but I can definitely say the drinks taste pretty watered down here. This new location is just as good as other locations. I tried the autumn latte and my GoTo is the mocha moon. they are always on point. And the employees here are extremely nice and welcoming (ambiance). It is also a good study spot and place to have meetings easily available in the medical Center. read more

My husband and I love getting coffee here. I'm a bit addicted to coffee with lavender in it and with the moon milk, it's a great combination! Went there to work once when power was out at my house. They do have free wifi and places to plug in with roomy tables making it easy to work or study for a bit. It's very chill in the morning even with people coming through the drive through and inside to order drinks. Music is loud enough to block a lot of that out without it being too loud. All of the workers I have encountered have been very kind and helpful. Definitely one of my favorite places to get coffee! read more

I've been a loyal customer of Summer Moon for over three/four years I've lived in San Antonio, and I've always appreciated the welcoming environment and quality service your establishment provides. Unfortunately, my most recent visit left me feeling very uncomfortable, and I feel it's important to bring this matter to your attention. During my visit today in Sunday, January 19th, I overheard the employee with purple hair making derogatory comments about me, calling me a "bitch" due to what she perceived as my "attitude." Not long after, I overheard this same individual in the restroom using highly offensive and discriminatory slurs, including "beaners" and "faggots," while discussing others. I was deeply troubled by this behavior, as it is not reflective of the inclusive and respectful atmosphere I've come to associate with your coffee shop. I don't feel comfortable returning if this kind of language and attitude are tolerated. VB roast is not the Austin quality that you would hope for. I've been 3 times since it opened and all three attempts the coffee was watered down where the creamer overpowered the taste. Not worth the $4 in today's economy. read more
